So me and my fiance are almost 5 years together now but the last time I have met her in person was exactly 2 years ago. March 9 2014. And now this coming March 11 2016 I will then become a US Citizen, its my naturalization oath ceremony. My question would be, when I file for fiance visa this March 11 right after the ceremony, will that still count as "have met each other within the last 2 years before filing for fiance visa" even if its 2 years and 2 days exactly? Its just that, I just started a new job and I dont think I can apply for a vacation leave yet or have enough PTO.

Within two years of filing means just that... you will have to meet in person again in order to file I-129F. May have to make a weekend flight to the Phils just to give your honey a kiss and fly home. ;)

Talk to your supervisor at work and see if he can give you 3 days or less so you can travel back to the P.I.

Nothing wrong with that, just tell your work about your predicament...

If not possible then Fly on a Friday you will arrive in the PI on a Suday...then give her a kiss and flyback home and you will be back on a sunday...

Hopefully not with a huge jetlag...

Goodluck !!

Did you arrive in the Philippines on March 9, 2014, or did you leave the Philippines on March 9, 2014?

What day was the exact last day you saw your fiancée?

Doesn't really matter. Sure it might mean that if the last day was March 9 and they file today they might make the requirement, but if they haven't seen each other in 2 years they won't have had enough face time to get through the proof of ongoing relationship.

one minute over 2 years is over 2 years, do the math. Of course it doesn't count if you met more than 2 years ago. There is no wiggle room, the rules are the rules. You will need to met again before you file.

Wow. Well thank you everyone for your advice, I really do appreciate it. I just thought that maybe USCIS isnt too picky with the 2 days beyond the allowed time. My last day in Phils was March 9 2014, last day Ive seen her. I guess I'll still celebrate for becoming a Citizen this March 11 2016. Hopefully I can travel back for even a few days like you guys said and give her a kiss! Thank you!!

Welcome to the forum.

As others have mentioned, USCIS is very picky about dates. Have a pleasant trip to the Phils.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
