Sorry if you misunderstand me.

Before Applied I-129 F, I have submitted only engagement party and photo of engagemts only.

But when I have interview, I also submitted my wedding photos to them? I took wedding before interview. They also did not ask about it also.

We are Asian, so some Aisan countries must make engagement first then wedding. ^.^

And I'm truth, not lie. ^.^

No one misunderstood you.

You said you got married already.

You cannot be married and enter the usa on a k1 visa.

Are you married?

If you are then yes this is visa fraud, yes you did lie and you will be found out.

My Name is Daisy, I am British, I say things bluntly and to the point.

So you did lie to get your visa. This is why we have immigration problems in the country.

OP, please do not follow this suggestion, and follow the law, dont get married outside of US.

I think you can celebrate like a wedding but no signing of papers should be happen..

That has also created issues in the past. It should not be suggested to do such a thing.

OP, please do not follow this suggestion, and follow the law, dont get married outside of US.

Unless you know the marriage laws of Vietnam, I don't think you can say if she lied or not. Perhaps she's not legally married. In many places, one just doesn't become legally married through a ceremony. For some, one does. For some, it depends on the circumstances. For instance in Indonesia, Muslims who get married in a mosque become legally married. Non-muslims aren't legally married until the couple themselves submit paperwork to the local government office.

That being said, I don't think having anything resembling a wedding is a good idea whatsoever since it could create problems and misunderstandings. Just like there seem to be on this thread....

OP: if your fiancee wants to have a party to celebrate your PENDING marriage, and that's why she's saying wedding, then try to make it an engagement party. That's I did with my fiancee last month. No white was worn and we celebrated our engagement in front of friends and family.

Edit: Eh, sorry just saw you already decided what to do. Wise move and good luck!

You could have a ceremony without the license. When you get a license to marry in a foreign country they want a letter from your embassy and that would be the flag. As with most US laws it is about the interpretation of the law. if you don't have a license it is not considered a legal marriage in the US.

Wether or not they ASK for that information, you WITHELD it, and that is considered visa fraud. If

they find out later (at any time !) they CAN revoke your status and remove you from the U.S.

So, as someone already wrote.... very, very bad advice.

> We are Asian, so some Aisan countries must make engagement first then wedding. ^.^

You are moving to the U.S., where (only) U.S. laws apply. USCIS does not care what the rules in your

home country are.

Sorry if this sounds mean, but this is reality.

Original poster: the K-1 visa is for you and your fiancee so she can travel to the U.S. and marry there.

If she gets married in China before she travels to the U.S., she is no longer a fiancee and she can not

use the K-1 anymore. Not telling anyone about that marriage is a very, very bad idea (see above), so,

I would advise to just have an 'engagement party', but no official things. In some countries, the U.S.

consulate (or Embassy) does not even allow engagement parties, so be very careful with this!!

Thanks for all the advice! We are now planning on going back to China after our U.S. marriage.

Very wise!

Just to make sure ... do NOT travel to China until you have either the 2-year green card (so, until you have

been approved on your AOS procedure after your U.S. marriage), _or_ you have received the EAD/AP

card that will allow you to work (EAD) and/or travel (AP) before that green card arrives !

what do you mean you worry is that there is a requirement to be single? Of COURSE there is. A K-1 is for single people ONLY

very very very bad advice. Do not "get married without a licence" Married is married

Paperless weddings are not recognized as marriage for they are not real weddings. You must be careful with the wording.

Plenty people have blessing ceremonies which are no different than an engagement party, where the couple is blessed by religious clerics in the presence of their families and friends, etc. These are not weddings and as such are not recognized legally.

Technically it is not illegal to marry outside the US for the purpose of immigration because the US recognizes marriages celebrated in other countries and that is the very reason why the OP is being forewarned. What the OP was asking involves a legal marriage, which would render their K-1 visa invalid. If they marry they will need to apply for a CR1 visa, which pretty much takes them back to square one of the immigration hopscotch.

Plenty of people have paperless weddings before entering the US on a K1 visa, and marrying officially. In reality, there is nothing wrong with that, or even illegal.

Simple answer: No you cannot.

Just have a pre-wedding gathering with family and friends. I suppose you could mock a wedding if you REALLY wanted to, and not actually BE married in China. If her purpose is to please the family then by all means no one has to know that the marriage is genuine, as long as its not an official wedding then it should be fair game.
