K-1 foreign marriage after visa issued but before U.S. entry?

 Share

My Fiancee wants to get married in Beijing prior to entering the U.S. on her K-1 visa. Can this be done and would she still be able to enter the U.S. on a K-1 if she's recently married in China (after receiving K-1)? My worry is that there's a requirement to be single when entering the U.S. on a K-1.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

If married outside the states a k1 becomes void.

A k1 is a visa that is for marriage within the states and it is a one time entry visa.

If you get married outside the states you need a spousal visa.

A requirement for a k1 is to be free to marry. You would not be.

no, she cannot

the purpose of the K1 is to enter the US and marry within 90 days. why do a K1 if she wanted to marry in her country? the K1 would be voided and you would have to start over, filing the i130 for a CR! visa. because you are married

Did you all already get married? Halt !

that visa is void you could have had a

A married person can not use a K-1 visa. It's visa fraud to do so.

To be blunt, it would be extremely stupid to get marry outside the U.S. while holding a K-1 visa.

Do let her go down the road of hiding the Chinese wedding from the US government and use the K-1. It may not bite her and you in the ####### immediately, but it might. Do you feel lucky? Wanna screw with US immigration?

Just don't do it.

NO. if you follow her plan. Forget about a K1 visa. Apply for a spouse visa instead.

This would be a terrible idea and would make the K1 useless. If your fiance wants to marry in China then you'd need a CR1 visa instead.

I got married in my country before applying for K1-visa.

But when I applied for K1 visa, I mentioned I got angagement party , not wedding party. And I did not show them the photos which I wore wedding dress.

I think may be your gf wants to take wedding party then apply for K1 visa. But you should not go to Comittee and get marry certification. if get, you must change to I-CR1 visa.

.

So you are married, and haven't yet received your k1 visa.

So you lied to the embassy, and immigration.

You cannot get married in your home country and again in the states.

You do realize this is fraud and you have to submit your marriage certificate for AOS.

You think they won't find out from that that you did not marry in the states?

Sorry if you misunderstand me.

Before Applied I-129 F, I have submitted only engagement party and photo of engagemts only.

But when I have interview, I also submitted my wedding photos to them? I took wedding before interview. They also did not ask about it also.

We are Asian, so some Aisan countries must make engagement first then wedding. ^.^

Brilliant. Commit visa fraud. Go online and encourage people to break the law. Americans love it when you come on here to brag about how you broke our laws and stole your way into our country.

Horrible advice.

You admitted that you had a wedding and hid it at the interview. How is that telling the truth?

You lied.

When you filed AoS, which marriage certificate will you use? U.S. Government recognizes all forms of marriages from different countries. Once you married in your home country, K-1 visa is void. I hope you realized all consequences you both have made. Good luck!
