I brought one over because we were living together in the UK and got bored with our lives there. Then he turned out to be a crazy SOB and we split. Now I'm with a strapping American manly man, and all is right with the world. He even lets me wear shoes once in a while.

Don't your shoes scuff the just-polished floors?

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Well, for me, it was all about the traditional values. I'd go on dates with or meet American men and it was all about "what are you going to do for a career?" or "I can't really see having kids until my 30s, it will totally cramp my man child style" or "I'm really particular about what I wear and the interior design of my house."

So, I met my foreign husband and it was perfect. He wanted to know how he could best provide for me while I stayed home and raised our children. He didn't want to help me with the cleaning or cooking and that was certainly perfect. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Plus, he is built like an ox. Seriously.

coolie labor.....

I know you were just in it for the green card......

I've been off VJ for a long time. Is USCIS allowing men to import men now?

Actually, yes. There are quite a few same sex couples on VJ applying for visa for their spouses and fiancés.

They are also very much welcome to comment here and obviously I didn't leave them out in my original post.

Strangely enough I've always dated British men. :/ American men just never did it for me. That being said I've never actively sought out a foreign man to date and marry.. they just always sort of found me. I'm an old fashioned sort of gal, so I've had to learn to temper that mentality and allow him to pamper me for a change. Thankfully he loves it here, so that's a plus and he's gorgeous.. and you know that accent makes us weak...
