Congratulations @Tcarrol & @Sukie . I can attest to how nice it is to be done with forms, notifications, and endless waiting.

@Tcarrol I hope you have a short wait for the final step. We are in S Florida and it took us about 11 months for my husband's naturalization (Nov. 2016 to Oct. 2017). Hopefully things are a little quicker for everyone nowadays.

Best wishes.

Thank you for your support.  At this point, we feel fortunate to have received ROC in seven months.  No one else in our cohort has received approval yet so we feel the worse is over; being able to prove we have a real marriage.  It hasn't been easy on any of us within this group.  Supporting each other has made it easier.

Hello Everybody! I feel like ive been out of the forum for about 3 years haha

Im about to be ready to send my N400 but i have a question, hopefully someone can answer me..

I will apply after being a resident for 5 years. But i am now divorced. My question is this, do i need to fill out any other forms beside the n400? I remember when i apply for the residency i needed about 7 different forms.

Thank you so much i advance.

Our journey is finally done.  Guess in many respects, all of us in this discussion were pioneers pursuing new law that was never available for other couples before us.  Hopefully, people in our situation will be able to review this thread and sustain the courage needed to follow their life dreams.  Hope all of you are doing well in your lives.  Since there hasn't been much activity on this forum, I imagine everyone has completed their journeys. Best Wishes Always.

Congrats to you. Unfortunately not all of us are done yet but hopefully getting closer. My husband's case is still pending the ROC and we recently were transferred as were others in our June 2018 group so we put on hold his N-400 filing thinking a decision on ROC would be soon like it was happening for many others in our group. Hopefully an answer soon and then on to the finish with N-400.

Congratulations!  My wife's 10yr card is in the mail and we'll be submitting her N400 online as soon as it's in hand. The online form is completed and ready to go. We're so glad to be starting the last leg of this journey.

Congrats! Hopefully that will be my husband and I too. But we are still waiting the decision of I751. We were transferred to Potomac in May and had hoped for a decision within one month like two others from our June 2018 group but are still waiting as of today. We may go ahead and start the N400 soon if no status change. We were originally planning to have done it already but did not want to change the outcome of the transger based on the previous two of our group's outcomes.

Thanks! Fingers crossed for you that it will come in the next few weeks. We'd also been considering submitting the N-400 application in advance of the ROC approval, but opted to wait a bit longer. I think, if we hadn't received it by the end of July, we would have done that. Fortunately, we didn't have to go that route; it was approved pretty much a year to the date of the June 2018 submission; her application wasn't transferred. We were given an estimated wait of 4 months (Baltimore FO), so once biometrics are done next week we're going to try to push it to the back of our minds for a while.

I noticed you entry into the US was almost 4 months after us.  I'm sure you will have the ROC very soon.  I'm not sure how we received the ROC faster than expected, but our process started in 2013 and it took forever to get the visa because of some complications.  Keep us informed.  We need to support each other.  Once completely done, its quite a relief to have the citizenship and US Passport in hand.

hey folks huge CONGRATULATIONS.  we are wrapping up this week. N400 processed here in Phoenix, took almost a year to the day it was accepted.  Interview was amazingly quick and easy, 5 questions, some writing on a tablet that didn't respond to its stylus and out in 6 minutes flat (no joke).  Oath ceremony later this week.  OMG it has been a ride.

Wow! I can't believe how much time has gone by since this thread was started.  As it stands my partner is opting to remain a resident and not go for citizenship.  Laos does not allow dual citizenship and he is worried he would risk losing it is he applied for USA citizenship.  He doesn't like to travel so I guess being an American citizen isn't a big deal.  Good luck to you all.

Me being Czech and my lady originally from the Philippines is the (naturalized) US citizen. We're in the K-1, currently waiting for further developments after having received the NOAC2 a month ago.

I have lived in the Netherlands for years, this is a very liberal country and gay marriage is normal here. I wonder what it will be like in the US.

"Life is a journey." At this moment, it's taking me to the USA to the woman I love.
