  2. Yes, all your thoughts are correct. You are signing in Part 7 and your husband in Part 8.
  3. Glad to hear you will get an answer soon. Sounds like everything went well. Congrats. Now if @Marrienne gets her answer we three will have crossed a barrier and on to the next one.
  4. This reply was not directed at you but to the two people I tagged, Cheyenne5044 and Marienne. I am sorry that you got confused about my reply to them.
  5. @Cheyenne5044 and @Marrienne, I too applied for the fee waiver and got it fairly quick. I receive an income based benefit of food stamps and medicaid which I used as the basis for the fee waiver. I filed in Vermont which is different for you. I know from my research of others that filed with fee waiver that it can take sometimes a minimum of 30 days to be approved and a response sent. I know that California is backlogged so this can be the reason of no response to you so far. I hope that you hear soon and your process continues. Just be aware that the delay in response does not change your receive date. Good luck.
  6. I am sure from what you said that all should go well. It is probably just the CSC slowness that is causing you delay. Others in your group have been waiting about three to four weeks for their NOA1 and with your fee waiver that may cause some extra time. I hope you get word soon.
  7. May I ask, for what was the fee waiver based on. I got the fee waiver but ours was based on a low income based program like Medicaid or SNAP. I know that others have heard after a bit more than 30 days due to what they believe was the fee waiver. I was lucky or submitted very good documentation that was easy to make a decision about the fee waiver. I do not know your situation but I hope it comes through for you. I know some people have had some troubles but once they sent in better documentation the waiver was accepted and all went on as it should. Others have had no problems like me and the fee waiver was accepted. Be assured though that if there is a problem with the waiver it does not change your receipt date for the I-751. It will still be the day that they received your application packet. I know this because last year they returned my husband's I-751 after they realized that his GC dates were incorrect but the application had been stamped received with a date.
  8. Try a walk in but be aware of the hours. Just take your documents with you and arrive sufficiently before the closing time and see if you can get in. Do this on some day before your scheduled day, that way if they deny the walkin you can still keep your appointment. I have not heard of anybody getting a specific time for their change, just different days.
  9. There are actually two sites, one is the orginal USCIS website where you can check status by clicking the check status link on the home page. https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do When you go to this link you can setup an account, add your case receipt number and then follow it. It even allows you to choose ways for update notifications to be sent to you electronically. The other is the site for online applications. https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov Here you can make online applications. Once you have establish an account any online applications are automatically added to your list but there is also a wau to add paper submitted applications like the I-751 application to your list of cases. This also will send electronic notifications. Hope this helps. My husband has the online account because it is mainly setup for the main applicant of beneficiary. But the other site is for anyone who has the receipt number. I am on there becaus it is the one that was in existance when we started the process of the K-1 Visa and at that time I was the petitioner.
  10. I just checked ours. It has not updated to indicate that a biometrics letter has been issued. It still shows the status that indicates the NOA1 was sent. But I do see the case and it has the proper receipt number. Just to give you another view. I hope that yours becomes active soon. Not sure why you cannot see the status, whether recent or at least in the queue. I hope this helps a little.

  12. I did not get to edit this properly so here is my corrected post. I misread some posts as coming from one member versus another and have restated my post to refer to the proper posts. Sorry for any confusion in the prior post. @missileman This article is about a chage to policy in regards to who can be issued an NAT (Notice to Appear) which is the start of removal proceedings. This policy just changed 28 Jun 2018. There is a link in the article that will take you to the actual policy memorandum (pm). So the article did provide more substantive inormation then you seem to realize. Before you dismiss the article, you should read the pm. It is very telling who can possibly fall into this category. Quoting the original post link: The link is here in this part of the article: "On June 28, USCIS announced that non-citizens who apply for a “benefit”–such as an extension or change of status, a green card, or citizenship—would be placed in deportation proceedings if that benefit is denied." The highlighted portion above. It does not work here but does in the article. Quoting MassStef from above: Article form OP didn't offer anything useful, but I wonder if the QZ article is referring to the update from USCIS earlier this week, which seems to give them more scope to refer fraudulent cases or denied cases to ICE, or issue an NTA. https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-updates-notice-appear-policy-guidance-support-dhs-enforcement-priorities @MassSteff There is a link in the article that will take you to the actual policy memorandum (pm). The article does provide more substantive inormation then you seem to intimate. I know that you referred to the USCIS statement but did you read the actual pm which is also linked in the statement you mention? Summaries do not always list the greatest of detail. It might surprise you who falls into these new catagories added in the pm.

  14. Let's hope that we all are diligent in our application process to avoid these removal proceddings. We must be super focused on providing all the necessary documents in a timely manner. In this way we can avoid any of this possible removal proceedings. By the way, the article has a link that lets you read the entire policy memorandum (pm) about which it speaks. The one part that offends me is that here in this country we believe innocent until proven guilty but this pm allows for issuing Notice to Appear (NAT) even when someone has only been charged. I hope that none of us have to face this. Be vigilent, focused, and collect all the documents that you can to show your case to be a true and proper case. Have it all available at any interview, whether you think it necessary or not, so that you can produce it at any request. This is our best defense against these possible processes. Boa sorte tudo!!!!!!
