Call from USCIS Chicago before receiving NOA1?

We sent our (K1)129F package to Dallas a little less than 2 weeks ago. We haven't received NOA1 yet and today they called my fiancé (who is the petitioner) from USCIS Chicago (?) and asked questions about him and about our relationship. Similar questions whats in the petition. My fiancé said they were "cool" on the phone, so I guess nothing was wrong in the application, but I was wondering is it normal that they make phone calls like that?

No one is saying that it's not possible. They are just saying that it's not usual.

However, if I were to vote, I'd say either it did happen, or that the fiance is lying. Doesn't seem likely that someone pranked him.

I don't remember having to enter or give the alien fiance(e)'s phone number on any forms for initial stage or even after approval. I did however at the scheduling system for his interview and no one ever contacted him over the phone, all post mails.

Why would he lie to me about something like that? And I really don't think it was a prank. (Who would see that funny? Besides the phone call was pretty long and they gave information about the process.)

We have had cases on here where the petitioner never actually filed, and tried to cover this up by saying they had communications from USCIS by phone. Similarly, we had cases on here where friends tried to raise false hope- or exes tried to scare the couple- by making calls pretending to by USCIS and asking questions.

As the others have said, it is extremely unusual. Not impossible, but yours is the first such case I heard of, and while I know they work on Saturdays, it seems an odd time to make phone calls too. I would say wait a few days- if you get your NOA1, then it may have been real. If not, start asking questions.

No, not normal at all. I-129F petitions are mailed to the Dallas lockbox and sent to either Vermont or California, and he received a phone call from Chicago even before receiving his NOA1 receipt. Interestingly unusual.

I was called last saturday at 8 am by my interviewing IO in regards to getting my fingerprints done. But ive been interviewed, so i dont really know if its the same.
