I just had a thought... USCIS has a Facebook page here:

http://www.facebook.com/uscis

I wonder if we all started posting on there, asking why VSC is so back logged, if we would get any response? One person, they could ignore. But all of us? Just a thought....

Also, just saw an online ad that said, "Mitt gets things done." Oh, really? Let's put that to the test lol!!

Yup, called, filled out forms, mailed letters. I live Washington, DC, so I don't have a "real" congressional representative. But I've gone through Sen. Dianne Feinstein's office in CA where my parents live.

Call Bernie Frank, He has a vested interest as he helped the workers there get their back pay when they were being underpaid. He is the man from Vermont after all and it is in his back yard. Plus he's a a stand up guy.

Hello fam,

Trust u all doing great.

I would like some help and education here.

I filed for a K-1 visa for my fiancée in Ghana on the 17th of January this year 2012 and I haven't heard from them. I called a month ago and I told they are now working on applications dated 16th January.

I keep checking my status and it's still on  initial review.

Can anyone help or advice me on what to do since it's taking long. Nearly 7mths now. Wow!!!

Yeah, I did apply from Baltimore , via Vermont service center

Thanks fam.

Hello friend,

It seems we are in the same boat as I have also filed an I-129F back in late February 2012. I heard the USCIS will not even research your problem until it has past the time stated for processing the petition. I finally got ahold of someone as the first person I could hardly understand and asked them to repeat what was being said. This went on for several minutes and all of a sudden we were disconnected or I was hung up on. I did call back to someone who speaks more clearly and he said that they are currently working on February 16, 2012;s petitions and this was as of 1218p.m. on August 8th. I neglected to ask him if they even started on my petition.

I am still not clear on the procedures of what exactly happens once they receive my petition. I mean if they started months ago doing backgrounds checks, reviewing my criminal history, and also look at the forms for fraud; all this shouldn't take 5 months to do and this is just my opinion. All I know is that I have to be patient and then once the petition is in the hands of the embassy then time will fly by real quick unless their are more problems.

I was about a month behind from VSC so no worries, your NOA2 will come soon....no worries. I called them twice and the second time I called they said call back by end of August. It ended up being approved the very next day.. so keep your head up

I just wonder how they can claim they are still on Jan 16 when so many with later dates (as late as 2/27) have already been processed. :bonk:

Because it is just a standard response that means nothing other than getting you off the phone. :P<_<

VSC is fall behind right now. We can only hope they catch up to CSC speed. It was depressing to watch CSC and see someone applying 3 months after you and getting approved before you. Hopefully you all can smile again soon. We waited for 188 days and i know peeps hitting 200 days this week
