May BAC reach $ 11.00 a share in that case! An engagement ring will set you back much more than $ 1,500!

Depends what you are looking for. It is not impossible to find an engagement ring for less than "much more than $1,500."

OP,

Thanks for sharing with us about your investing experience and lifestyle. Although your info provided here is limited, but I can infer (from what you offered so far) the following 2 things:

1) You're a gambler, an inexperienced one, since the stock market is heading into the summer, which is well known as slumber time (stocks historically tend NOT to perform well during summer times)

2) The market is at historic high and with the instability in the Euro zone (due to banking problems), it seems quite "smart" to gamble your money with a banking sector stock!!!!!

Thanks for sharing again. I hope your wife/g/f in VN still not aware of this situation. Some women might not take bad financial decision(s) well.

PS. I sincerely hope once she gets here to live with you, you would consider changing your investment (or shall I call it, speculating) behavior. Bad financial moves will and can destroy marriages in a blink.

Everything in life is a gamble!!! This man is doing this for his fiance and I think by far it is one of the sweetest posts I have seen on this site.

I think what you're doing in the name of love is very sweet. To those of you who say he cannot buy a big diamond for this price need to understand it isn't about how much it costs or how big it is, it is the thought and love that goes into it.!!! My husband did not get me an engagement ring, and I could care less, I married him because I love him not for what he can or cannot put on my finger. Congrats Hy, I am sure she will love the ring no matter what!!! good.gif

Everyday I talk on the phone with her, we text alot too. Each day she calls to wake me up for work, each day after work I call her up for her to go to work and to ask her how her English class is doing because she is taking an English class after work.

Ever since I sent my I-129F form, I try to check the USCIS website each day to see the status. It's been 95 days.

Now I want to invest in this stock and the goal is to earn enough for the simple engagement ring but it means alot because now til i go back there in about 2 months, each day I'll have to follow with the stock and to make my decision to earn the amount for this ring.

Last month it was her birthday, I sent her a birthday gift but I also notice she really likes to eat apple. So what I did, I bought an apple tree and asked my work place if I can plant it on the side of my company, they let me plant this apple tree and I planted on her birthday. Each day I go to work, I water it and I tell her that when she arrives in the U.S., I'll show her the tree and when the tree bares fruit, which is around 2 years, she'll get to eat it and eat it many years to come.

Here is the apple tree that I bought and planted at work last month, on her birthday.

this is so sweet, means much more than the engagment ring IMHO...My ring was in in that price range and I felt embarassed because its so much money for a "stone". (I know it because we gave the bill to the embassy in France for my K1). The price doesnt matter, what matters is how much you paid compared to what you earn: it is supposed to show a sacrifice..If you can save for a ring, you can take of a woman+ family. But remember, once married both partners need to work and do sacrifices for each other. So if a woman gets a nice engagement ring she should bear in mind that she has to take good care of a man able to sacrifice for just a ring...It goes both ways!

But the tree symbol means way much more I think.. Anyways, I just wish you good luck, I hope you can buy the ring soon, and be with her forever asap.

In theory, I made $190 today from buying 1000 shares at $7.47 a share and it closed at $7.66 today.

I also expect BAC stock will have a big change in price on next Monday morning. My plan is to make my first sell of BAC sometimes next week to make the first actual profit.

I checked After-Hour. BAC drops 1 penny to $7.65  . Good luck for tomorrow.

BTW, are you using Ameritrade or Etrade?

I am using Ameritrade.

I am expecting on Monday next week, that's when BAC will be more active.

You can wait and see my prediction that I 'll make a minimum of $1000 from BAC by the end of July.

I made 20% of the ring today right hehehe :-)

Everything in life is a gamble!

Please explain your logic.

I'm going to clean out our saving and hit up the black jack table! I'm speculating I should make at least %50 by the end of the night, and if everything goes to plan I'm planning on taking the wifey on a month long cruise!

If not I guess we can always live on ramen noodles.

This man is doing this for his fiance and I think by far it is one of the sweetest posts I have seen on this site.

This is so b/c a majority of us don't post up the things we do for our significant other like we got something to prove, this is not high school.

I'm going to "gamble" with this money, if I win she gets a ring <------------ not sweet!!!

I was going to buy some toy, but I'm gonna buy her a ring instead <---------sweet!

I appreciate OP's intension, but I think he's doing it wrong.

How much is Ameritrade charges per trading for unlimited shares. My work place using Etrade $9.99 for trading. I am not planing to sell my company stocks to buy any ring for my wife. Since, she is here in US with me... I am sure you will be profit $1K or 2K by the end of July for buying her a ring, and a free ticket back to VN.. good luck...
