Member hniHnitsuJ asked me to post a new thread to discuss about stocks for us to learn from each other and I feel it might be fun as well. Having something a little different then the visa and immigration to talk about about is fun and helpful sometimes. If you do feel that this topic should be deleted then please do so.

Well here it is hniHnitsuJ and the list below is what I think are nicer stocks to pick this coming up week or in 2 weeks. There are around $14 trillion USD worth of American stocks listed on American markets to trade each day, mostly in New York with more than 10 thousands major stocks to pick so it is really hard for any one of us, any agency or organization to know which stock or when to buy or sell. We just have to study each stock a little bit before we invest. However, in today's world, what's so called globalization where every country is depended and bounded with other countries through organizations like the WTO, IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Bank... Euro, G8, G20, BRICS, .... so by studying 1 company before you pick that 1 stock is not good enough. I believe in addition to studying 1 company before you buy its stock, you should also need to follow with the other markets or other countries from politics to market competitors and many other things as well.

For the week ending today til next week. I would like to pick these stocks for myself.

Short term from 2-4 weeks.

--Buy Google between $565-$568 and expect to sell $580-$590

--Buy Facebook between $28-$30 and expect to sell $35-$38

--Buy BAC between $7.75-$7.80 and expect to sell $8.0-$8.15

--Buy Silver ETF SLV between $24-$26 and sell $$28-$30. When the European currency falls against the USD, investors will go for USD so Silver will be down, but the US economy won't be growing more than 3% for at least 2 more years so in a short terms, USD is good and SLV is bad. In longer term such as 6 months to a year from now, SLV will pick up. For me, I would go for SLV when it is down to around $24 a share.

Long Terms more than 2 years

--Buy Facebook now and don't freak out if it goes down a few dollars. I believe long term, facebook will go up when they start to take their money to invest in other IT, Technology products and services.

--Buy VNM, this is the Market Vectors Vietnam ETF, the first of the Vietnamese market vector listed on NYSE. I believe VNM will growth very aggressive after 2013. Vietnamese GDP will be between 5.5%-5.8% this year, will pick up between 6%-6.5% next year and that's when VNM will have the momentum to grow.

--I am in the process of studying Rare Earth elements companies that belong to Japan and Vietnam.

Today is the 107th day since I mailed my I-129F application for my financee. Am still checking the USIC website to see if there are any updates but so far, no updates. I know that they would send me a text message through my phone if there were any updates but for some reasons, I keep on checking on the website, daily.

For stocks

I bought 20 shares of Google at $567.55 on 6/22/12, the price of Google went down yesterday so I bought another 10 shares at $559.84 on 6/25/12. The average Google price for my 30 shares is $564.98. Google price at the end of today 6/26/12 is $564.68

I went back and bought 1435 shares of BAC at $7.61 on 6/25/12

I bought 200 shares of Facebook today 6/26/12 at $33

Out of these 3 stocks on my portfolio, I am looking at Google the most and I believe I'll make profit of $300 from my 30 shares of Google by or before July 6th, I will more likely to sell Google when the price hits between $575-$580.

I expect to sell my 1435 shares of BAC by this Friday 6/29/12 if it hits between $7.80- $7.90, if it goes below $7.61 after the European Submit then I will hold on to it.

For Facebook, I will hold it in the range of $30-$34. I will sell all my 200 shares if it hits $35-$37

My goal is to sell all these 3 stocks by the end of next week according to the prices I am waiting for.

A little bit of advice from someone that's traded the markets for a very long time. Never invest/trade what your not willing to lose entirely. I've traded for 10 years right out of college. And even more important, never think the market owes you something. I've traded markets for about 10 years now. Started straight out of college for a prop trading firm in NYC. And guess what? It didn't become a fruitful career. There were times when i made ####### loads of money (10k plus on single trade spanning only a few hours) but always, always lost it all and more. There is only a very small % of people that can consistently beat the market. I'm talking like .05% Most traders I know that started with me in 2003 have moved on to different careers. Even big boys like hedge funds and banks can't game the market consistently. That's why in times of depressions/crashes they go bankrupt and need bailouts. Wall street is real simple. The majority buy and hold forever. It's really that simple. When markets go up everyone gets fat bonuses. When markets crash people get laid off or quit. I still buy a little stock here and there but went into nail biz cause its much more stable. But when I play the market, I do so knowing I can lose it all. Thats why most of the time I just buy options. Thank god I got married and my wife got me to stop trading all the time. Now we both run a salon together and life's a whole lot more stable.

Actually we went into nail biz cause it makes alot of money. What's different from doing that or a restaurant? Or being a plumber or a carpenter? It's just doing business. You're either good at it or or not. Same thing with stocks. It's about maximization and efficiency. You guys remember that Korean Taco cart that started in Cali? Think it started in Cali http://www.gourmet.com/food/2009/05/korean-tacos . Guess what, those guys do over a million dollars a year. If you guys would just realize there are other states out there other than Cali and TX, you'd realize this as well. You know there's 48 states besides those 2. Just go check census info for unsaturated states. Smart business owners don't try to milk something that 10,000 others are milking. They go and find inefficiencies and use them. That's why I'm out in the Midwest. Its just business.

I just bought 1000 shares of Bank of America stock symbol BAC at $7.47 a share.

I expect this stock will go up to between $8.50 to $9.00 by the end of July. And I expect to make between $1000-$1500 by that time, the same time I receive NOA2 and I will buy an engagement ring for my fiancee.

It's 7.74 at the end of today. Take your quick profits because with less than a month to go it may or may not go higher. If you need money in such a short time this is not the secure way to go IMHO.

Oh preach on brother! I agree with everything you said, that's why I'm in the midwest as well. I was just being sarcastic toward some members on here who have the tendencies to make blanket statements such as below.

Alot of VN folks think everything is Cali, TX, and the other few heavily vn populated areas in the nation. Truth is the USA is a real BIG place. There are still opportunities to be mined. it doesnt have to just be in nails. Can be in laundromats, restaurants, coffee shops, taco cart, whatever. But people have to understand the USA isnt like 30 years ago. You got to go out and actively find these opportunities. And I understand not everyone is going to be able to just pack up and go somewhere else. But if you want to make money nowadays you got to go look for those nooks and crannies of biz opps. I know so many locations around where I live where if someone just opened up a nail supply store, they would make bank. Most people here have to drive far to get to a decent nail supply depot. Too bad I know nothing about opening a supply store. But I'm researching it. I got an Indian friend who's into subways. He got like 7 of them. I found out from him it only costs like 100k to open one. But he had to drive around 3 different states to find decent locations. And one by one he opened them up. Told me each one does avg like 30k net a year. I was like "that's it?" He said "yeah but I got 7 of them" Thats 210k to him. And here's the kicker, they are all mostly financed. SO they kind of pay for themselves. I mean, thats savvy business. And regarding all the tax issues, I'm sure some report correctly, and some don't. But its the same for every type of business. You think the owner of that hot club downtown reports all his transactions? Or that fancy bar uptown? Maybe they all do, maybe they don't. But I doubt it's any different than nails. And seriously if one actually made decent money in this business, the money would be good enough to where trying to game gov welfare seems like a big waste of time.

I know so many locations around where I live where if someone just opened up a nail supply store, they would make bank. Most people here have to drive far to get to a decent nail supply depot. Too bad I know nothing about opening a supply store.

I sold 20 shares of GOOGLE today at $575. I bought a total of 30 shares of GOOGLE earlier this week at an average of $564.98. Now I sold 20 shares at $575. I made profit of $211.8 - $19.98 fee =$191.82 and I am still holding 10 shares of GOOGLE.

I currently have 300 shares of FACEBOOK at average price around $32. I will hold on to FACEBOOK til it hits $35 at the end of next week to mid of the week after next base on my prediction and educated calculations.

My next stock to pick and this one has higher risk but higher return.

The stock is National Bank of Greece NBG. I will study a little more of this stock and I will likely buy 1000-2000 shares when the price falls in the range of $1.40-$1.50
