Here's Saylin's Stuff from April

As it's already the second day in April, thought someone should create the April NVC thread!

Here's some guides for those in NVC:

-http://www.visajourn...ew_Online_Forms (Canada-specific)

And some other useful links:

-http://www.visajourn...il_DS-3032_form (template on how to email the DS-3032)

-http://travel.state..../info_5165.html (table at bottom, to see if you're eligible for Electronic Processing and/or online forms)

-https://ceac.state.g...ice/signon.aspx (payment portal)

-https://ceac.state.g...px?signout=true (site to fill out DS-261 and DS-260 for those eligible for online forms)

-http://travel.state....c/nvc_1335.html (NVC)

Phone numbers:

NVC - 603-334-0700 (press 1 then 5 to speak with an operator)

DOS - 202-663-1225 (press 1 then 0 to speak with a visa specialist)

Email addresses:

NVCInquiry@state.gov - to email DS-3032, expedite requests, and/or questions

NVCElectronic@state.gov - to email optin for EP and for scanned packages

and Here's Christeen's forumulas:

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.

3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.

1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.

1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.

1-2 days for IV bill to be PAID.

8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

Folks--please make sure your official VJ timelines are up to date. Remember this is our only source of predictions. Thankyou!

Well, I'm discouraged to say that I have now been in April NVC, May NVC and now June NVC. This last part feels so much like USCIS phase. Just waiting. AVR is so out of date that it's pointless to check it. Operators are rude when you call to see where you really "are". Last one even told me to wait the 20 business days to call back, then corrected herself and said not to bother cause they still need additional time to review. THEN UPDATE THE DAMN AVR AND I WON'T KEEP CALLING YOU! And the funny thing is that I only call once or twice a week and they are rude. I"m not even a multi-times a day caller! I'm TRYING so hard to be patient, but the window of opportunity for me to be able to attend the interview and have a vacation with my husband is dwindling. I know that's peanuts to actually being together, but our case is very simple and uncomplicated. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to review it and move on. I know our AOS was ok and I was very careful to include EVERYTHING they requested in the IV packet. Everything was done as requested, in the order requested, with the labels requested, and no weirdness.... JUST APPROVE AND LET US GO PLEASE NVC!!!

/rant off

Welcome to June!!! May we find NVC to be speedy and accurate!! :)

Since it's been almost a week from your NOA2, I'd suggest calling an operator EVERY DAY. NVC can assign a number any minute, and if you want to be on top of things, you should definitely call often.

Well im hoping that i get a SIF and CC by the end of this month. I just called yesterday and AVR stated that they reviewed the documents and i was missing information. I called and spoke with an operator and she told me that the AOS was fine but they were waiting on the DS-230. I told her that it was sent, so she told me that not to worry that it just hasnt been reviewed. everyone else hang in there.
