IMO Obama has dropped the ball and made the situation worst than when Bush left office. He basically dismantled a big portion of immigration and workplace law enforcement and habitually harps about amnesty. WoW! What a deterent. In other words...what a frigging joke.

Easy solution: every illegal alien that is being deported gets his deportation number branded on the sleeve, so small that it could be covered by a watch band. If he's being caught again, after a deportation and a second illegal entry, his forehead is branded DEPORTED like the skin of a cattle.

I never said that Bush was blameless, but he was pressured to start cracking down on illegal aliens toward the end of his term. Obama has dismantled a good portion of that interior work authorization and immigration violation enforcement where he could. Deportations are up in spite of Obama rather than because of him. The increase in deportations are due to Secure Communities which focuses on illegal aliens that are jailed. However it accidently works too good and now the liberals and illegal alien cheerleaders are whining to Obama to dismantle it and are refusing to cooperate in this mandatory program.

I'm under no illusions as to what Obama is all about as far as enforcement of immigration and work authorization goes. Go spin your smoke and mirrors praising Obama elsewhere. I don't buy it. This guy is totally into amnesty and kissing azz of his Hispanic constituency for cheap votes.

There were an estimated 8.7MM illegals in the US in 2000. Eight years later, the estimates were in the range of 12MM - up some 33%. In 2010, however, the count was down some 8% at about 11MM. Now, how is that worse than when Bush left office? Do you want more illegals seeing that having less than when Bush left office is a bad thing in your view? Or do you just have it all twisted?

Saw this on the news today. Very heartbreaking for the family and friends of the officer. This is something I think about pretty often since my step dad is a cop here in northwest Houston. My condolences to the family, friends and PD!
