My girlfriend and I have been together for 6 months now but we are in a long distance relationship. She's an US citizen and I'm from Switzerland but currently live in London UK. I have a B1/B2 visa at the moment but I would like to move and work there legally.

I'm lost about where to start and what to do to be honest.

Is there a way she can help be to move and have the right visa by being my partner ? I'm too young to get married now so it feels like unless I have a sponsor or get married there is no way for me to move there and I'm really sad about it...

I will appreciate any help from you guys !

How old are you? Do you mean legally too young or just that you are not ready for marriage?

Ah. The US doesn't have any partner visas, unfortunately. All roads lead to marriage. You could try alternative things, like work visas, or look at a third country. Good luck.

But apparently for a work visa I need to have a job offer and under the B1/B2 I can't even attemp interviews or look for a job. Who would like to give me an interview when I'm standing in the other side of the ocean when there is people in their area? .

I'm a professional photographer graduated from a photography school from Switzerland but then again unless I win some big price in photography which is not my case there is no chance to do something...

I really feel stuck at the moment...

I heard about the green card but there is so many different things said on Internet that I've read pretty much everything on it but still confused about what documents you need, how to apply, do you need an immigrant visa for it and more...

I've been to a lot of places in Europe but I didn't feel like settle there honesty...

You're kind of out of luck then. Without a work visa option, the fiance visa, spousal visa are about your only options. There's a diversity lottery, but I'm not sure if there's much chance of that from Europe. It might be your only long shot chance though.

Unfortunately there are not a lot of options for you, unless a work visa. If being with your girlfriend is a priority, then my suggestion is to keep visiting each other as much as you are able, keep getting to know one another, save up funds, and then when you feel you are ready, decide on if a fiancé or marriage visa is right for you.

Yuna628: it kind of sucks... I honestly don't like London and I don't want to go back to Switzerland and there is no other place I want to live. So being stuck here, work my ### off for the plane ticket to be with her 2twice a year when normal couple can just be together whenever they want. I wish I was in this situation...

How about girlfriend moving over to London or Switzerland (creates an issue with working for her as well which I'm not sure how difficult is it).

Problem is - billions of people would claim they're moving to be with the partner if there was a way to do it...

I know how hard it is, seriously. LDRs can be a very difficult experience indeed, and it is all in how you handle them to make the time pass easier. We once went a good couple of years without being able to have the time or the funds to see each other. It's all down to how much you love each other, how much you can endure, and how much you want to be with each other. We also definitely know how difficult the economy is in the UK and the lack of funds to bank on such trips. It becomes an incredible burden and emotional drain. Settling down isn't for everyone of course, but governments do not leave us many options you see.

As to the suggestion that the USC moves to the UK.. she will run into the same problem, of needing a visa. The best way obviously being as a spouse, which has those financial tests to get through... and if the OP is not ready for marriage anyway, it's a moot point. Student visa is additionally becoming harder for non-EEAs. Switzerland entry might be easier, but I think this would still require a commitment of marriage the OP is not ready for yet.

My wife and I spend 8 years half a world apart before she came here and we got married. I would have loved to have been together twice a year, but the distance, cost and limited vacation time prevented that. I was lucky when I could make it every year. If you're right for each other and both willing, it can work until you're ready for marriage.
