Submitted my request via email to NVC and was approved within 24 hours. Case was DQ within 6 days. Request for expedite was approved at nvc on the 04.30.2024. When our case was received by embassy, Embassy sent us an instruction to select our appointment ourselves. This caused by a lot of panic and there no appointment available. However, we kept try and got a date within 2 days. First date we got was July 10 2024 but kept checking and later saw 4 June and 12 June. Had to go for 12 June since my medical would not have been available by June 4th. | 18 hours ago | ||

I was a little confused because everyone else on here seems to have gotten their passport back within a week or even less. Checked the status immediately after and it says "Administrative Processing". This seems to be contradictory because he was told he was approved. I was wondering if this was normal or maybe they have to run a few more checks to verify info before issuing the visa, but they never mentioned it. I will post updates as we have them. Update: Apparently this is completely normal. It was "issued" by Friday, just three days after the interview. By Monday it was sent in the mail. At the embassy in Madrid, they said 2-3 weeks for the passport to be returned, but we got it back in 1 week! (interview on the 9th and passport delivered the 16th). You must then pay an immigrant fee, which was just increased to $235 (used to be $220) before you depart for the United States. Having completed that step, I can happily say we are all done with the whole process. Now we just have to get on a plane. :) I probably won't be updating anymore now. However, if anyone has questions, please reach out. I tried to include everything I could because one of the ways I eased my anxiety was seeing what to expect based on previous timelines. The embassy accepted it the same day. Our status went from “In transit” to “Ready” in less than 24 hours and we received the IL on Feb 22, 2024 with the interview being on March 15, 2024. Medical has been booked for March 7th. I received my passport back with the visa 2 (business) days after my interview.
