Comments : NVC expedited our application on Feb 20,2024 however we did not make a request, NVC did it on its own (no idea why but many of the Brussels applicants in Sept received the same email at the same time). The embassy accepted it the same day. Our status went from “In transit” to “Ready” in less than 24 hours and we received the IL on Feb 22, 2024 with the interview being on March 15, 2024.

Medical has been booked for March 7th.

I received my passport back with the visa 2 (business) days after my interview.

Embassy Review : My interview was set at 8:30am on March 15th, 2024 (Friday).

I went in the Embassy around 8:10 and went through security. There are three different checkpoints before you can enter the interview area within the building. The security were helpful and kind.

Was told to go to window 5 first that said ''cashier'' to check in and receive my number. After that I sat and waited for about 15 mins for my number to be called.

There the person requested documents I had submitted but nothing related to my husband (no I864/tax returnspayslips/proof of domicile).

Documents they asked for: DS-260 confirmation page, birth certificate, marriage certificiate, photo, passport and police certificates. (ALL ORIGINALS).

I was asked to wait once again to be called for my interview and that took almost an hour. There were only 3 people in front of me and it seemed like only one window was available for immigrant visas while the other windows were reserved for the Americans who were there waiting.

Once my number was called, I met with the lady who did my interview. She asked me basic questions:
1) How did you meet your husband?
2) When did you meet your husband?
3) How long have you been together?
4) What does he do for a living?
5) What is your job?
6) What degree do you have?

All in all it took about 7-8 mins and I was approved. She was kind and cracked a few jokes with me. She said my passport status will be updated when it is ready to be shipped.

My NVC status after my interview was placed under ''Administrative Processing'' even though I had no notice or request to send additional info/documents and one business day after it was showing as ''Issued'' and I received two emails:

1) About my visa being printed on my passport and it being being ready plus having it handed to the mailing service
2) The tracking number

I am not sure if this is standard timeframe from approval to passport being issued.
Rating : Very Good

Congratulations guys! Would you be able to share how your interview was and if any extra documents were asked from the embassy?

Hii- I just posted my interview reviews. There is also a Brussels embassy thread that has others who experienced it and are soon going to get their IL! https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/808895-brussels-embassy-interview-time/page/2/

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
