  1. Comments on this? And should the offending Somalis be deported? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's Not "Racist" to Notice Somali Fraud Last week, my colleague Ryan Thorpe and I broke a story about widespread fraud committed by Somalis in Minnesota. Members of the state's Somali community allegedly participated in complex schemes related to autism services, food programs, and housing, which prosecutors estimate have stolen billions of taxpayer dollars. Even worse, some of the cash has ended up in the hands of Al-Shabaab, a terrorist organization in Somalia. The story quickly reached the White House. Within days, President Trump announced that he was revoking the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for all Somali migrants in Minnesota. Progressives have suggested that our reporting and the subsequent policy change were "racist." While many of those indicted in these schemes are Somali, these critics argue, the federal government should not hold Minnesota's Somali community corporately responsible for the actions of individuals. This criticism is superficially appealing, but it isn't persuasive on closer inspection. [...] https://www.city-journal.org/article/fraud-minnesota-somali-immigration-debate?skip=1
  2. Post yours here. Dollar General, open Thanksgiving Day, has some 3-day specials that I might investigate in-store.
  3. Done, presuming an adequate, uh, campaign donation.
  4. Thrilling Wednesday report, see man: Rather busy, si man. Shoulder wasn't super-bad overnight, awake only a little before alarm we man. We prepped for what we envisioned as a low-stress day with time for long-put-off projects, si man. Of course, Mama T-B. called with half-a-Manyzen items, semi-aysheep senior she man man. There went our morning and our day, sigh man. We did accomplish almost all of the more crucial items, at least there was that man. From Mama T-B., we went to Walmart for eye exam, see man. Rx hadn't changed much but doc told us to get deeper lenses, ours not sufficient for Rx components man. So this explains why we haven't been able to see out of more than half an eye all year, tell us first man. We did get to visit ultra-foxy-but-married Indian opticianette, oh our God what a fox she man man. She helped us find frames to accommodate our Rx, appreciative we man. Frames were designer but quite cheap, F$WM. Lenses, however, cost $Many00 -- si man, $Many00 -- man. Afterward, we went into store, not as bananas with shoppers as we'd expected man. We found 2 Italian Hero deli subs on last-fresh-day markdown, purchase F$WM. Back at casa, serviced insistent miu, service miu we man. Breakfast/lunch/din-din (at half-past Many [2+2] p.m.) was one of the Walmart subs*, ingest we man. *bought as stated within the hour, F$WM A siesta was then taken, zzz we man. Shoulder awoke us, but toward siesta's end, acceptable man. At Many (2x2x2) p.m., we decided to grocery for our sports drinks, running low we man. Supermarket was a madhouse, people doing full shopping only then man. Why wait so late, and why not do it in stages over a couple or Many days, huh man? Fortunately, our experience wasn't so bad, no man. We found all the necessary Manyzen Powerade Zero grape, find we man. Store had coupons for "buy 2 Gatorade, get Many'rd free," note we man. We got Many (2+2+2) Gatorade Zero grape, all that were there man. We even stood on a nearby ladder to get them all, determined and financially savvy we man. Mini-B. confirmed receipt of package of Many tinsel balls for mini-miu, grateful wee man man. In short, we accomplished all but what we'd envisioned, one door closes another opens man. No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man. Ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s Thanksgiving lunch is half an hour before noon, host ex-she man we man man. After that, we envision a tryptophan coma, zzz we man. However, Dollar General has several items on special, open Thanksgiving man. Stay tuned on edge of seat for gripping, thrilling updates, si and ** man. **shaddap Bro G or anyone else man We must also itinerary any GSs/ESs, thin weekend therefor man. And that was/is our thrilling Wednesday, report we man.
  5. Over there, he's probably a moderate or even a screaming conservative, si man. Everything is, uh, relative, si and man.
  6. Went to supermarket on a completely discretionary trip. Needed to restock supply of sports drinks. The time was 8:30 Wednesday night. The parking lot was a madhouse, but, like Kojak, I got a primo space. Fortunately, the store had a lot of checkers, so the wait was normal. A whole lot of folks seemed to be doing full, last-minute shopping at that hour. 😕 Anyone ever hear of preparation, or at least shopping in stages?
  7. Soon, a dethroned prince will ask for aid to reclaim his status.
  8. Thread is moved from General Immigration Discussion to the Current Events forum and is merged with an ongoing thread on this topic.
  9. Wonderful! Thanks for relating your experience and giving your advice -- it will help others. You have special reason to feel thankful during this Thanksgiving season.
  10. You have extra reason to be thankful during this Thanksgiving season. Applause!
  11. If I were in charge of All Things, I'd set rules and distinct prices for the various services that Civil Surgeons perform. Violations or price-gouging would be severely and formally penalized.
  12. Country-specific thread is moved from the Embassy/Consulate forum to the Philippines regional subforum.
  13. We have set a record with 4 consecutive posts of only Sunday's Official and Wednesday's Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Jokes: =========================================== FRAMED FOR SUCCESS An attorney called and asked to speak to his client, a wealthy art collector. He said, "Matt, I have some good news and I have some bad news." The art collector replied, "You know, I've had an absolutely rotten day, Jack, so let's hear the good news first." The lawyer said, "I met with your wife today, and she informed me that she has invested only $5,000 in two very nice pictures that she thinks will bring somewhere between 15 to 20 million dollars, and I think she might be right." Matt perked up and replied, "Amazing! My wife is such a brilliant businesswoman, isn't she? You've just made my day. Now, I know I can handle the bad news. What is it?" "The pictures are of you and your secretary."
  14. Thread is shifted from the CR-1 Case Progress subforum to the CR-1 Process forum.
  15. Family holidays would be great if it weren't for the people, si man.
  16. There you go, Bill -- find the cheapest place.
  17. You must feel great, and rightfully so!
  18. OK; may well be. When Mrs. T-B.-to-be was short on a couple of shots, the county clinic added them to her existing list of vaccines, and the civil surgeon accepted it. Follow whatever your instructions say to do.
  19. You're welcome. The video from the immigration lawyer is especially edifying.
  20. Thrilling Tuesday report, see man: Awakened by shoulder again, man. Had fizzicle therapy at o'dark-Many, barely prepped ourself before FT lady arrived man. FT lady perceives spazzed deltoid and possibly mad subdeltoid bursa, oh great man. She dry-needled/electrically stimulated us, has always helped before but see below man. Wants us to apply diclofenac gel 1%, applicable to we man man. She also unhosed our back, quite an improvement there man. We had a coupon for Many% off at a nearby Chinese buffet, about to expire man. We went for lunch (encompassing breakfast & din-din), si man. This isn't a self-serve buffet with steam tables, no man. You tell them what menu item, and they make/serve it, all one can eat man. We got there at half an hour before noon, good arrival time man. Verrrrry cute Chinese waitress (born/raised on Long Island) was ours, calm down Bro G man. We ordered chunk steak + onions and beef skewers, double-order we man. We eventually consumed Many (2+2+1) -- si man, Many (2+2+1) -- servings of each, ingest we man. However, this process took nearly 2 hours, restaurant slammed with customers man. The place was Many/Many'ths -- perhaps even Many/Many'ths -- full for Tuesday lunch, amazing man. Cute waitress was adeptly racing all over the place to serve demanding customers, oh well man. The owner & wife were even assisting the wait & kitchen staff, that hectic man. We couldn't continue getting acquainted with cute waitress, sigh man. And we doubt being willing to go back unless there's another coupon, F$WM. Regardless, there were Many (2+1) pieces of good news, see man: 1. The food was outstanding, excellent man. 2. We ingested far, far more in the value of the food than what we paid for it, F$WM. Many. Achieving (2.) is the optimal goal in attending any buffet, F$WM. Serviced expectant miu, service expectant miu we man. Attempted a siesta, zzz we man. Siesta truncated by shoulder pain, man. We texted FT lady, consult we man she man man. She recommended ice or heat after needling of sensitive area, recommend she man man. We iced it, we'll see what happens man. Throughout all this, Mama T-B. kept texting/calling with orders and commands, active senior she man man. All must be done to her satisfaction, not normal people's satisfaction, man. We now have approximately Many hours -- si man, Many hours -- of all this, man. So much for attending to our own stuff that she also yells about our neglecting, man. No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man. Must visit Mama T-B. on Wednesday, caddy all pills that she wouldn't let us caddy on Monday man. We hope for no need for prohibited HSM tonight, sigh man. And that was/is our thrilling Tuesday, report we man.
  21. Begin drinking immediately and heavily, si and sigh and hic man. See also Thanksgiving thread in Current Events forum, see man.

  23. Bill, if your area has the equivalent of a county health clinic, see if the vaccine is available there. If yes, it should be even cheaper than at Costco.
  24. So if one is stingy with the cheese, it means war?
