PalRish got a reaction from Chancy in N-400 Dallas, TX Filers (Merged Threads)
    Hello Everyone!

We filed for my husband on October 25, 2021 online.
    Biometric Email : December 29, 2021
Biometric Scheduled For : January 27, 2022 at San Antonio, TX (We are from Dallas and receipt notice said Dallas, so we were confused why San Antonio)

His Case Status immediately changed to 'Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS' after the biometrics.

There was no update for months after that.

Somewhere in first half of July his interview got scheduled for August 12, 2022 in Irving, TX. He successfully passed it.
    Questions asked -
    1. In which month do we vote?
    2. Who is the Senator of your state?
    3. Name 3 original colonies.
    4. What does the declaration of Independence mean?
    5.  How can Americans participate in their democracy?
    6. He does not remember the last question.

After 2 days of his interview, his status on uscis changed to Oath Ceremony being scheduled on August 30, 2022.
Oath happened with around 650 people and he received his certificate of naturalization.

By far, this was the easiest process with uscis.

Good luck to everyone! Thanks much for all the help and guidance.

Well family was allowed but we were not able to see the ceremony, since this ceremony was at a large scale(650 people). It was specifically mentioned on the oath letter that family is NOT allowed.

His ceremony happened at Plano Event Centre and they made all family members sit in various rooms and the main ceremony happened in the hall. We could hear the ceremony but not see. The actual ceremony got over in 15 mins, overall it took around 2.5 hours.

    Hi All,
I have been MIA for a while, this journey had become too stressful 😐 But I'm happy to let you know that my husbands interview has been scheduled for January 20th at the US Embassy in Jordan. F2A category, named plaintiffs in YoungvTrump lawsuit and therefore not any longer subject to the ban 🙏
With Baghdad embassy closed (my husband is Iraqi), we were re-assigned to Abu Dhabi. However, UAE currently makes it super difficult to enter the country, as visit visas for many countries in that region have been suspended. We requested a transfer to Amman, and thank god (and the Consular Officers at the Embassy) got accepted under the condition that my husband needs to be physically in Jordan first. We arrived in Jordan on 12/26, and after almost 2 weeks of uncertainty and anxious waiting, our case got re-assigned and expedited to post. 5 days later we received IL for 10 days later. We are both exhausted and running out of energy, but hopeful that we can travel home together soon.

I have asked several CBP agents about this and got the same response from all; technically you should not apply for a non-immigrant (tourist) visa while an immigrant visa is in process. Secondly, just because you have a non-immigrant visa it doesn't automatically give you admission to the US; it is up to the CBP officer to decide on your admission.

I have entered the US since my immigrant visa was initiated however my case is slightly different than yours in that I am Canadian and Canadians don't need to apply for a non-immigrant tourist visa to enter the US; the visa is automatically generated when you are granted admission.

    Hi everyone,
My husband's interview was today and he was approved. He said it was straightforward, they asked for his civil papers originals (birth certificate, marriage certificate, 2 police certificates - one from UAE and one from Jordan)
They asked how we met, who is the joint sponsor.
He was in and out in less than 2 hours.

You can choose option 4. Immigration Purposes other than work permit.

I recently applied for my PCC as well here in India but I had the option 'IMMIGRATION PURPOSES OTHER THAN CITIZENSHIP'. So, I selected that. Waiting for my PCC to be delivered now.

    Same here.

Our PD is 25 Sept, 2019 at California Service Center.

No updates at all after 30 Sept, 2019. I have sent one "outside the timeline" request. They will reply by Nov 23 based on an automatic reply.
I sent the message although now the processing time is updated to 19 months from what was like 9 months when we started(?). At most they will say wait longer, but that is somewhat assuring rather than no feedback at all for almost 15 months.

My wife's I-130 PD was 8/22/2019 for CSC. USCIS website showed that there was some activity on 2/23/2020 but it did not say what it was. This no longer shows up on the website. I have a feeling this was transferred as well. Still waiting... on the other hand, my N-400 naturalization interview was scheduled yesterday.
  23. Thanks
