  1. Did you send something with the petition or submitted something at the interview that might have been interpreted that you two are married? For example engagement party pictures ? That could be interpreted as being married. Suspicion is all they need to determine that. Anyway , as said previously, there’s no appeal with a K1. So your next step is to either file another K1 or go with a CR1 (recommended).

  7. It takes a few months to get the actual card. From the CR1/IR1 guide for brining spouses to the US: At the bottom of either a CR-1 Spouse Visa or IR-1 Spouse Visa is the following sentence, "Upon Endorsement Serves As Temporary I-551 Valid For One Year." The endorsement is a standard CBP admission stamp with applicable information written in by the officer. This allows the visa itself to act as a temporary green card before the actual green card arrives in the mail. Additionally, if your relative is a CR-1 visa holder, the green card will only be valid for two years. Within ninety days before the green card expires, you will have to file an I-751 form to remove it's conditional status.
  8. Because Tier 1 agents who answer phones are customer service representatives and not actual immigration officers. Hence they do not know much about the immigration process.
  9. No, it has not accelerated. It is currently at 13-15 months actually
  10. I-485 is for those who are adjusting status within the US. It doesn’t apply to consular processing. Once your spouse enters the US she will be an LPR so no need for the I-485, it’s not applicable in your situation. Ps.you’re reading the wrong guide as that guide is for spouses who are specifically in the US.
  11. ~~ Topic moved from K1 forum to Working & Traveling during US immigration ~~ Allowed to work with DHS authorization means the Employment authorization document (EAD). She can legally work if she has an EAD. She has to either wait for EAD or GC, whichever comes first, to work.
  12. AP - 9 to 15 months AOS depends on your local field office The above timeframes are available on USCIS.gov.
  13. It’s a minimum requirement to receive a visa. So I guess yes, you have higher chances of approval as opposed to if you didn’t have one because that’s grounds for a visa denial.
  14. For Philippines it’s about a year, give or take, until interview, after the NOA2. Pregnancy has no effect on the process, as in it doesn’t speed it up
  15. They can’t do that and I also very much doubt that consular officers answer phones, I’m sure they have a person for that. Just be polite and explain the situation and that you need some clarity
  16. OP is in the US according to a previous post where he was asking about expediting based on medical grounds.
  17. Thanks, I see now. That’s a rare country here I think what OP should do is go ahead and fill out the DS-160 and try to schedule their own appointment. Regarding the consulate telling you not to call…. Just call them and see what they say. That’s what I would do.
  18. Hard to give advice when we don’t know which consulate you’re dealing with.
  19. Petitions get transferred all the time without notifying the petitioner. USCIS has its own system of assigning and transferring petitions to balance the workload among the service centers.
