Charmycole got a reaction from Dorakiss in N-400 November 2021 Filers
I passed my interview yesterday (May 18, 2022)!!!
The officer was very courteous and the interview lasted approximately 15 minutes. She even gave me Twinkies and complimented me on my performance. My oath ceremony should be in a month, she remarked! Everything came together in the end. I'm quite thankful.
I applied November 11, 2021
Oklahoma City

Are you suggesting for someone with 3 "full-time" jobs to volunteer? 🤨

Charmycole reacted to little immigrant in Name change and oath ceremony delay
Your divorce is already a qualifying event for your last name change. I used the citizenship application name change to add a middle name for example. I never had one. You don't need to make use of it

Charmycole reacted to Family in Is filing FOIA really a bad idea?
By the bits of clues in your profile, I am guessing you have an I-751 and after a long delay , got an interview for May. Unable to tell if u filed joint w spouse or solo waiver due to abuse or divorce.
FOIA requests have no impact on the merits of your case or the Evidence u need for the interview. The longgg “trick” theory gave me a mild headache..but should give u no concern.
Many here on VJ can help u get ready for interview, just clarify your post..

Charmycole reacted to cablewyres in N400 Interview Under 5 Year Rule (Divorced)
Hey Everyone!
Update:
I finally had my interview today without it getting cancelled! hahaha I passed it and an now just waiting in the USCIS waiting area to be called for the Oath Taking.
Wohoo! But dang, it was a good thing I was prepared to answer the officer’s questions. I was asked a lot of questions about my marriage and divorce:
When and how did I met my ex wife. How did we end up getting married. How long we were married. Why we divorced. How long were we living together and were separated. If were still married when we filed for my ROC. And she was going back and forth with her computer and my paper stack of documents which I submitted from way back during the AOS process which were already sitting on her desk.
But it wasn’t bad actually. I feel like I was overthinking of how they were going to treat me. As long as you have the answers to their questions, I think it went well and the officer wasn’t rude or anything. She was just doing her job. So, I managed to stay calm.
By the way, she did ask for my certified divorce decree! It was a good thing that my original interview schedule was postponed because that gave me time to request for a certified copy of my divorce decree. God knew and it all worked out.
I was then asked all the Yes or No questions. I was tested for the civics part:
What is an amendment?
What is the Constitution?
What is the capital of the US?
Who is the Speaker of the House?
What are three of the 13 original colonies?
Who makes the federal laws?
I was asked to read a sentence on a tablet and asked to write an answer.
After more questionings here and there, she took a photo of me and made me check my info on a tablet and made sure all my info were correct.
And then, I was told congratulations. I just need to wait in the waiting room again to be called for the Oath Ceremony.
And here I am, typing this out.. waiting Lol But, I’m so glad I passed. It has indeed been a journey everyone! God is good! 😊

Charmycole reacted to soapmctavish in N400 denied accused of fraud
Hi all sorry just came back here. I noticed a lot of response to my question thank you soo much. I also noticed that some response were judgementals and I just want to remind you all that I came here for options in my situation. Not to be judged. I also understand that most of us here and immigrants and should help each other. One thing is for sure is I will fight this nightmare and will update you guys. I just talked to my lawyer last week and he said it can really happen if you forgot the exact dates we put on the previous application. I was careless when i filled the forms for n400 ao you guys make sure dont make a mistake and take your time in filling it up.
Thanks hope you will get yours soon.

We filed my wife's I-751 in late March of 2019. We are still waiting for the interview, too.

I disagree with you.
You should never volunteer information that does not help your case.
However, if you are asked about it, then you should give details.

+1 Most people don't get it. As intelligent human being, with the ability to think critically, can infer as to why somebody would do want to do this the second they perceived themselves to be eligible. And one of the reason that can be inferred is that the green card/citizenship is the main goal for the marriage. Not saying that it's always the case, but to many people it's very shady that somebody would actually count out 90 days exactly, and would not even consider giving themselves 1 extra buffer day "just in case".

What date should OP have applied on? As a software developer I really want to know.
It is clear that this software bug is still not fixed. My wife will not be using the online method to apply in 11 months. USCIS / INS is simply informed at IT. Always has been. Always will be.
So much victim blaming on this thread. As there was on @Hypnos ‘s thread.

Charmycole reacted to cross_the_river in N-400 after RoC - case transferred for I-751?
I have got the same update on my ROC case yesterday!
My ROC has been approved in early June with no RFE and no interview. I've received my 10-yr GC in June as well. Although I have an open N-400 case and I'm wondering maybe they are combining the documents together, and sent those to my local office. It can be a good sign for receiving a citizenship interview appointment soon! I'll keep you posted as soon as I receive the letter in the mail.
Please don't stress yourself out. I'm hoping for the best for all of us!

I would use the USCIS early filing calculator to determine the correct earliest filing date. If filing online, I would wait a couple days to submit. That is just my personal choice.....
