Almost exactly 8 months from sending out the AOS and almost exactly 7 months from the biometrics appointment, we finally have an interview date!
 
It seemed like it would never happen and I feared my case might've been forgotten so I called USCIS at +1(800) 375-5283, said "Infopass" and asked to speak to a "Tier 2 Officer" for a service request. I was put on a waitlist where I was supposed to be contacted by the Tier 2 Officer within 30-days. However, after a week of that initial call, my case status was finally updated. I am not sure if this was because I requested to speak to a Tier 2 Office but I highly suggest it nonetheless.

Had our interview today in Philadelphia and got approved! The whole interview lasted no more than 20 minutes.

Congrats! We were in Philly last week and had a similar experiance, and our Greencard is supposed to arrive today. So hopefully your process is similar.

It may be normal. That's the same position we are in.

Just checked USCIS today and we got a notice for our interview today! The notice itself wasn't posted so we don't know the date yet but we're excited nonetheless. 😊
 
We had an RFE for it back in October and only after checking the site were we notified. A month had passed so we possibly could have had an interview sooner. Nothing still has come in the mail.
 
No word yet on the I-765 or the I-131. Looks like we may not even need the I-131 after all.

Yes I did, also I just noticed in the notice in my online account that it’s a combo card so AP approved as well.

I was missing a document for the interview i had on the 23rd of march, and so was approved but received a 221g refusal until I sent the document in. They received it on Monday the 29th, and my case status changed from refused to administrative processing on the Tuesday. Then today, the 1st of April, my status now says issued:) this is london embassy btw

Thanks! Our application was received April 16, 2020 and the interview concluded March 25, 2021 so 11 months.

We're at the medical exam and interview stage. It's moving slowly for us because my fiance works everyday 8-8 and only has 2 day off a month. Working them into the schedule has been troublesome but we have our interview scheduled for 3/14!

I hope so also. I can't wait for this pandemic to be over. We're also planning a ceremony in Indonesia also but thankfully we chose the US first.

I also got my case and invoice numbers via calling. They already had my email address on file so I didn't need to use the Ask NVC form. Now just waiting for it to get sent to the embassy.

My number was called today as well!

I just looked at google maps and Medan is a cross the malacca strait from Penang  
I hope I can visit it one day
 

I'm well versed in 50 cent words, though what I exhort is that the enfranchised employ those that they have empowered, benefit society as a whole, not just their own self-interests. United we stand and all that jazz.

You know, I've seen you post this many times before but I can' help but think that if USCIS is giving us an estimate based on whatever their criteria is then they should be held accountable to that or else they should adjust their estimates appropriately. If within the halls of this agency their bosses or the employees aren't holding themselves accountable to what they have communicated then we the customers (citizens of this nation) do have the right to demand that deliver upon the expectations they have set for us/themselves.
 
Nothing will change if we accept the status quo. As you have put it, they have the gold but it is our gold that they have and without us they have none. I'm not saying let's start a revolution but if people don't speak up about their expectations not being met which are largely set by what USCIS provides then USCIS should just stop setting misguided expectations.
 
My recommendation as a better message is for people to reach out to their local representatives not about the status of their individual cases, but that they reach out to them about the inaccurate expectations that are being set. While USCIS may not ever be able to give us exact dates, they should be able to give use some kinds of guidelines similar to what is provided by VJ because of all organizations they have the most accurate data to do so. Make you elected officials work for "us" not just "you". The constitution starts off with "we the people" not "me the individual".
 
If a contractor you hired to do work on your house was off on their estimates like USCIS is, I'm pretty sure you would raise a stink about it. But what do I know, I'm just a paying customer hoping that my government can/will improve in some way.

Your never totally ok, it's a constant battle and only external observation can determine how well someone is.
 
Take it from someone who has dealt with schizophrenia, there will come a day when they are not ok. When it comes it will be really painful but if you prepare property it will make a huge difference. Learn as much as you can about the condition and those supporting people with the condition and then learn some more.
