APRIL 2020 I-129F (K-1) Filers

For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing different aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All are here to learn together. Good luck because this is a long process currently running 5-6 months from filing date for your NOA2 approval.

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/K1_Process_V11.pdf

Also, since your application will go through several background checks, this is a primer on what goes on with the background process.

I know it sucks, but the best way to get through this is to lower your expectations and try not to compare your timeline to anyone else's. Don't forget that the people here on Visa Journey represent a tiny percentage of all the petitions the CSC has to work through! When someone gets to your file, you'll hear from them. Stay busy, talk a lot with your fiancé about non-visa stuff, don't forget to hang out with your friends, take up a new hobby, go to a sporting event, and your time will come! Good luck

An explanation of why is it taking so long.

Because there is a pandemic in the world and USCIS is affected just as you and I are. Patience is needed.

Our noa1 came on october 30 we need to hear something

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process

  • "the man with the gold makes the rules" and
  • it will take as long as it will take
  • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
  • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
  • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience- yours and theirs are not the same
  • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

Look. You're very early on in this filing and you are beginning a long road. I understand your concern to do things right. But we are not here to screw up your journey by giving you wrong information. There are many of us that have been here on VJ for years. We don't get paid we do it because we enjoy it. Our information is based on personal experience and the years that we have helped others. So when we say you won't "this" or "that" we know because we have seen it that way.

This is not the thread for this. This is for April filers. I don’t see why you would come in here and ask this.

Usually, if you have gotten a RFE and you answer it with everything the have asked in their original letter (RFE) to you you'll have a greater chance of approval then if they had flatly denied your case. So the answer is probably.
