PimT got a reaction from JenIE in I-751 September 2022 Filers
Yes, I did file for AOS in 2020 after we got married since I was already in the US at the time and was on a work visa (H1-B). I could just be misunderstanding the proper usage of CR-1 haha but I thought my current green card status was CR-1.

Just sent our Packet today via FedEx, should be at the center tomorrow. Hoping to get the extension letter as we have a trip back to home country scheduled for end of December

Perfect! I think with the addition of the 2020 tax return, bank statements, utility bills and credit card statements you're good to go! That's a lot of good evidence. Good luck!

Great point @beloved_dingo. 2020 was "Married filing separately" for us so I'll include 2020's tax transcript as well! And sounds good on the driver's license.
We submitted everything in Feb of 2020 and received our green card in Oct 2020 (so we are cutting it close for this I-751 submission 😅)

No need to include both driver's licenses if one address is not correct. We were actually in the same boat - my driver's license had my old apartment number so I didn't send it - just a copy of my husband's.
As for taxes - did you not file jointly for 2020? If you are married on December 31st of any particular year, you are married that year as far as tax purposes. So you should have tax transcripts for 2020 and 2021 showing you filed as married. Send both.
I would make sure you double check your 2020 tax return to make sure it was filed correctly - the only options are to file Married filing Jointly or Married filing Separately.

PimT reacted to igoyougoduke in CR1 or H1B Adjustment of Status?
1) Yes CR1 is usually for those that are abroad. When you are within the US, you opt for Adjustment of Status or file I-485. Yes you can file Adjustment of Status by filing I-485 with the required documents
2) Adjustment of status and H1b are not relevant in your case. There is no fraud as long as you entered legally with the correct visa.

Just got our interview appointment in the mail today for the end of August! Strangely, my EAD/AP status is still stuck at "fingerprints taken" since March 😕 not sure what to think about that but hopefully we are close to the finish line.

@Amaterasu I think its awesome I'm glad some action is being taken to bring them on their toes! I would still be reluctant to sign for privacy reasons but I hope something changes and processing increases with the hearing and the delayed furloughs.
@PimT Congrats!! Did you receive a notice in the mail or did your status change online? Is the date this August or farther?
@sherif-fouad Congrats!! Thanks for letting us know. It seems to vary
Some people are getting it 3days-2weeks after the EAD, some before the EAD, and some are still waiting for it after receiving the EAD.
@mat2291 "...time I see an ignorant comment from someone on the interent to “come to my country the legal way,” I want to tell them that even the legal way isn’t any better. But that’s another debate for another day. " - I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE!

That's normal. Your EAD/AP card is processed separately, and is likely still in the works. "Case is ready to be scheduled" really just means there are no issues with your application (nothing missing, etc.) It could be months before they actually schedule your interview, especially since they haven't been doing any since closing their offices.

PimT reacted to Sarge2155 in February 2020 AOS Filers
The I-485 is what you are interviewing for. No action needed on your part. Your interview will be scheduled when they are ready and open to the public again. It means just what it says they are ready to schedule your interview period!

PimT got a reaction from stringpuller in I-130 February 2020 Filers
I submitted it later after I have received the I-130's NOA1 (which was only a few days after since we filed that online). We just included that case number in our i-485 application!

PimT got a reaction from Kristen N in Is it possible to submit AOS without approval of I-30?
I'm in a similar situation and need your advice on submitting my AOS as well. I filed the I-130 form online today and got the receipt number right away but not the NOA. Should I wait for the NOA1 before mailing other forms (I-485, I-131, I-765)?

You can't call, but plenty of people have walking in earlier (like me) or in a different location altogether with success. There are no guarantees in this regard, it's up to discretion of whomever is in charge at the location. So you won't know until you try.

Glad to hear it
It happens from time to time, others have experienced something similar. Could be that they didn't properly process the G-1145 form or perhaps some technical issues on the side of USCIS.
I for example didn't always receive a text with a new status update, definitely didn't always receive an email with a status update and the egov page shows different things than myUSCIS account.

PimT reacted to DELETEME1234 in February 2020 AOS Filers (mod edit to title)
Nah, sounds like you're good. The fact that they've cashes the cheques means they've accepted the packet. Sometimes people don't receive confirmation texts for some reason. Just be on the lookout for NOAs in your mail, then you can start keeping track of things with the receipt numbers.

If you are on H1b, I will say wait it out if you can. However if you are on K1 and adjusting AOS then I saw some people successfully requesting expedited EAD.
My Visa ends in October. If I don’t get my EAD mid July I will request expedited EAD due to loss of wages when my H1b will expire.

Congrats! Seems like a really short timeline but I'm sure it was because you were very prepared. If you don't me me asking, what was the evidence needed? Just in case I can avoid it and send everything they need all at once.
Also, when did you initially file the petition?

Submitted our online I-130 on Tuesday and received the NOA1 last night. Finally mailed the rest of the forms (I-485, I-131, I-765) via USPS today! I double-checked with the "post marked" definition as well and they made sure that it was good.
The wait begins! I'm glad to hear from a lot of other people on the same boat!
