  1. I am looking at air tickets from YEG-WAS and flights are available via YYZ with a lay over option of 1h12/1h42m/5h56m.

We will be having our secondary at YYZ and ideally i want to have around 3h layover on the safer side but no option is available.

Can somebody share their recent experience of secondary at YYZ? how long normally it will take?

    Thanks

  2. Hey Guys,

    A quick question.

I am a little confused while registering for visa appointment. Which options from the following i have to select for registering visa appointment?

Option#1: I have received a Consular interview appointment date from the National Visa Center (NVC) or the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) and I have been instructed to register my appointment on this site.

Option#2: I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K (Fiancé(e)/Spouse/Child) visa appointment.

    Is this option#2?

Had my medical with Dr. Zatzman in Toronto today (interview is on the 26th). Took a hour at his office, people were lines up down the hall just to get checked in, although they seemed to be calling us in appointment order.  had to wait 3 hours to have the blood work done, xray was super quick and they gave me the CD.   Highly recommend using the check in service on the dynacare website to expedite the lab work process.

I missed one of my daughters immunization that she needs, so have to have that done and report back to him before he can send it off.

Super excited for next steps!  Seems sureal to be this close to the end of this long drawn out process.

We are also booked with him. Should we checked in with dynacare with 1 hour interval from Dr appointment ?

We had medical on April 8, and Dr. said we should have the results at the consulate for April 14 interview.

Thx. At which clinic  you had medical?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find this info in the FAQs. For the medical passport photos, are they US-sized or Canadian-sized or does it matter? Thanks.

Ideally it should be US size but I am not sure. Let’s wait if someone can share their experience.

    Hey guys,

Any idea about turnaround time of medical exam results from Toronto or Montreal clinics?

Our interview is scheduled on May 03 and we will be flying from AB. We are weighing this option if we can do medical exam and interview in the same trip.

What would be the wait time If medical results reach to consulate after our visa interview ?

Although we will be moving to US on July 01, 2021 still we don’t want to risk anything due to COVID-19 situation.

I have read different forums and reviews and it looks like they take 10 business days on an average to send medical exam results to MTL.  Anyhow I have booked medical exam on April 26 and my interview is on May 03. There is almost no chance to have medical result before interview.

We are flying on Jul 01 so I am hoping by then we will have our visa.

  7. Hey Guys,

Before exploring this thread I have no idea that one can apply EI after relocating to US.

I am a spouse visa applicant and expecting to move in July.

Kindly keep sharing your process. Thx

    Hey everyone,

So here’s the dilemma I’m having. My interview is April 21st and my second wedding anniversary is June 2nd. If everything goes smooth at my interview and I get approved I should get my passport back around end of April early May.

    I am completely agree with @mam521, @Lovepeace0303, @Mzamour.

We are also in the same situation and expecting interview in first half of the May and hopefully visa by the end. Our 2yrs mark is end of the June and we have decided to wait it out. In our opinion an extra month makes so much sense to get 10yrs GC. It will save money and hustle to go through another series of paperwork for ROC.

    Good to know about this.

I must praised SC's ruling for dismissing Trump-Era public charge rule and for protecting vulnerable immigrants.

Immigrant families can now access life-saving health care, food, and housing assistance for which they are eligible without fear that they will lose the chance to obtain lawful permanent residence.

I will second @DGF  opinion. I can share my experience.

I told officer that I am going for my marriage. He asked me a lot of questions but I was having extra documentation to prove my ties to Canada.

Later he called his supervisor and he asked extra questions. At the end they were satisfied and let me go.

But it really depends on the officer he may let you in or refuse on the spot so be ready for that.

    Best of luck

    Hello,

After my interview on March 1, I checked my application status on ceac.state.gov which was updated today....it says the visa is ISSUED but then it also says that it is going under admin processing. Is this typical? How long can potentially this AP go on for given that they kept my passport? Some people say it could take months? The officer did however say that i should expect my passport in 2 - 3 weeks.

This question is answered in detail in CR1/IR! Montreal FAQ document under visa status post interview.

I had my interview this morning at 8:00. Questions and process were much the same as what’s been described previously.

Was asked a few questions about kids, what my wife does, and what I’ll do for work in the US.  Was also asked how/where we met.

    Thx for sharing your experience.

What type of questions they asked about kids?

This will help me to prepare our interview.

So I've been doing a ton of research regarding this. This is what I've found:

    1. Close out your TFSA's because you will be taxed on it ALL every year, regardless of capital gains/losses. There is no fee to close out your TFSA. You are also correct regarding the non-resident contribution 1% tax. It is better to contribute to an American retirement account such as a Roth IRA

Awesome! Thx for sharing your hardworking.

Hello everyone. Hope all are in good health . I want to ask my canada pcc is expiring as well as my indian pcc also. Do i need to provide existing country updated pcc at interview or updated pcc from all the countries i visited. Thanks in advance

For Canada yes. They are only valid for 1yr.

If you have not traveled to India since the last pcc issuance date then you don’t need it. Expired one is ok.
