Babu Frik reacted to kris&me in Is Ecuador a high fraud country or something?
Ecuador is only nice for those who have a decent job and money

Babu Frik reacted to OatmealKitty in Is Ecuador a high fraud country or something?
Really? The website told me 4-6 for an update (not a decision specifically, just anything) and even now it's still saying 4-8. They should really update the time estimate to match their work load so people won't think they're being left out in cases like mine.
I'm actually surprised so many Ecuadorians want to even come here tbh. Their country is way better. The only reason I'm staying in the US for now is BC I don't know how to get my pets there yet (cat and turtle) since no plane will take them across the ocean in that direction and BC my grandma has no passport and can't travel with us if we did go permanently. But legit I just got back from there for a Christmas vacation and I almost didn't come home with my mom and brother. That's how nice it is there.

Babu Frik reacted to JeanneAdil in My first time trying to apply for a visa with a letter from a friend (citizen) in LA
Letter can indicate u have a friend in the US with plans to marry here and adjust your status to stay
it will not help your chances
u must apply with strong country ties to Mexico
DO u own a home?
DO u have a good job to return to?
IS the friend a romantic friend ?
that is what embassy will look at
and , please, if u do a letter of invitation and are successful , let us know so we can reference your post if others from Mexico ask this question
BTW a school teacher from Peru was denied
her letter on invitation was from family here
she had a good job
she had to return to her job, her policeman husband , her 2 kids
and they owned an apartment
and this woman and her husband had lived in Louisana while he attended university in the US and had left when college was over

Babu Frik got a reaction from yvonme in CEAC Refused or AP? K1
It changes to refused while it's in AP, during this time they run extra checks, usually it's not so long, especially for your country, but depending on the case sometimes it takes longer.
everything you described sounded very positive, you'll just have to wait it out unfortunately.

No, refusal would be at the port of entry with an immigration officer.
Sounds like this person messed up.

that means it's on its way to Juarez, some people have mentioned that it's stayed that way for a while and they called Juarez to get their appointment.
Things seems at a stand still for the way it was going prior, looks like they're only doing older cases now, it might be because the fiscal year is ending.

Babu Frik got a reaction from Skyman in Time out of the country as LPR
Yes that can affect things, I believe you have to be living in the states at least 18 months out of the 3 years, and 3 months before applying.
There's also other things like maintaining domicile in the states.

From the official USCIS manual, note the bits I have bolded.
https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-3
Breaks in Continuous Residence
An applicant for naturalization has the burden of establishing that he or she has complied with the continuous residence requirement, if applicable. Generally, there are two ways outlined in the statute in which the continuity of residence can be broken:[9]
The applicant is absent from the United States for more than 6 months but less than 1 year; or
The applicant is absent from the United States for 1 year or more.
An officer may also review whether an applicant with multiple absences of less than 6 months each will be able to satisfy the continuous residence requirement. In some of these cases, an applicant may not be able to establish that his or her principal actual dwelling place is in the United States or establish residence within the United States for the statutorily required period of time.[10]
An LPR’s lengthy or frequent absences from the U.S. can also result in a denial of naturalization due to abandonment of permanent residence.
As mentioned by someone else, in addition to meeting the continuous residence requirements above, you also have to satisfy the physical presence requirements.

Babu Frik reacted to JeanneAdil in nyc mta fare evasion ticket(yellow one), what should i do?
again a ticket (like mine ) appears on my criminal report
so, i would disclose it if on the report / u can pay for one
and i don't know if they consider fare evasion a moving violation but all moving violations have to be reported
this is controlled by each city / some places it has jail time so u need to know your city' s view on this and u don't post the city here for us to look up
PLEASE create a timeline
if you want help, tell the VJ community city and all info possible to answer questions
Filling out a timeline helps us help u and future immigrants who rely on all our experiences in the process

Babu Frik got a reaction from Adventine in Can I (sponsor) work in a third country while my petitioners I-130 is awaiting? (merged)
You're asking if you should not tell the truth, which is not allowed here, and frowned upon.
You must submit evidence that you’ve taken steps to establish domicile in the United States.
