Correct, I said it CAN be done during interview (as in it is an option, a possible action).

My first statement: notify USCIS as soon as you have the decree.

Correct statement would be: it CAN be done during the interview IF you have one. Chances are they won't have one, so no opoortunity to inform USCIS under your premises.

Waiting until they have the decree is also dangerous. Some divorces take long, and so they might approve it under the premises of a joint filing when they have already separated.

Best course of action is to notify uscis of the divorce if they know that's the course of action. Down the road USCIS will request for the divorce decree, which they can provide then. If it is denied, one can refile for a new 751.

I am here in USA as a tourist visa. But I see so many people here submitted everything together and got processed so fast like a month or two. That's why I want to restart AOS process here in USA

Your timeline in your account is still incomplete. Please complete it.

Did you include a copy of the receipt for the I-130 with your AOS package?

What do you mean "restart"? I thought you had already sent the AOS package...

  3. We sent about 10-15 pictures scanned into a Word document with a caption that stated the date, the event, and who was in the picture. We made sure it covered the whole span of the marriage. We were approved without RFEs or interviews.

As @OldUserhas stated, with more "concrete" evidence, send ALL pages. Not worth risking an RFE just to save some printing $$. Here is a copy of our cover letter. Feel free to include what you want.

I wish I was bitter but No love lost here. It’s the principle of submitting false document for the purposes of obtaining us citizenship. It happened to you you say, so you should understand how things like this happen. I found out his divorce decree was fake with me digging in further in 2022 and by how he was doing things. I reported it to USCIS tip line even before he applied for citizenship. I didn’t know when he applied for citizenship, I found out when I checked online. He got it 2023 and is now in Nigeria with the spouse. Divorce decree has been confirmed it’s counterfeit. Why would I be in on something like this?

    But WHO confirmed it's counterfeit?

I-751 instructions ask for evidence from the start of marriage until date of filing.

I did that I got approved without RFE / interview. Some of the evidence was already provided during adjustment of status. I didn't mind sending it again, as it was roughly 10% of the packet. The 90% was new evidence from the time I got GC. I excluded evidence of relationship before marriage, which was sent during AOS as it was not relevant for I-751.

Many people submit evidence from the start of green card, and not from the start of marriage. It goes against the instructions but USCIS approves most of those cases just fine.

I'm also more conservative when it comes to interpreting I-751 instructions asking for "as many documents". E.g. I submitted all the pages of all bank and utility bill statements. Other people did quarterly statements and were approved.

    It's your call.

This is exactly what we did, and we also got approved without interview/RFEs.

Some of the evidence I repeated was the crucial one, for example joint leases from the time we got married, or joint bank statement or taxes. We didn't repeat pictures, but we did send in a few ones.

My only interview was for my N400, and the officer said "you obviously knew how to put your package together"

thank you! Did you put N/A on all fields or just the first field of a section that didn't apply to you, e.g. the interpreter section? What about the signature fields for interpreter and preparer? I saw that someone had theirs rejected because they wrote N/A.

Sorry for all the questions, I am so beyond nervous to send this out for some reason!

I put N/A on all fields.

  7. Mine was technically not a combo interview because my 751 had been approved about 45 days prior to my N400 interview. However, my husband went with me just in case, and the officer did want to see him (he asked only 2 questions: his marital status and my DOB).

Tbh, it's only just a few hours your spouse will have to take off work. I would ask them to come with me and be done with the process.

I apologize if this seems silly, but my finacee is finally here and I cannot find a very firm/hard pillow like she had in Vietnam.  I have bought 3 different "firm" pillows since her arrival 3 weeks ago and they are all too soft.  Her pillow at home was unbelievably hard in my opinion, and I cannot find anything over here comparable to date.  Anyone else run into this?  I'm thinking some sort of Yoga bolster, etc.
