TamTom reacted to TamMhmd in Case Complete (DQ) to Interview February 2021
Hi everyone,
My husband's interview was today and he was approved. He said it was straightforward, they asked for his civil papers originals (birth certificate, marriage certificate, 2 police certificates - one from UAE and one from Jordan)
They asked how we met, who is the joint sponsor.
He was in and out in less than 2 hours.

I wish I was talking about COVID, but it’s nearly as huge because we finally have our completed CR1 visas !!
I can still remember starting this tortuous nightmare of a journey in July 2019 when I filed the first set of documents with USCIS via post in Chicago and here we are 16 months later permanent resident visas in hand. As I scan across all these threads it brings back so many memories, “how long will it take”, “how do I upload files”, “police certificate has problems”, “unsure about photos”, “how do I expedite” etc etc etc - they aren’t good memories, this is a struggle of hard work, expense, and above all patience. Just a personal theory, but I honestly think the US uses this process to weed out those with weaker relationships by forcing them to live apart for over a year and seeing if they can make it, I find myself wondering how many couples split due to the enforced separation and the “consequences” that can result in, especially for a young couple. Being apart is horrible as a newlywed, and the immigration process is badly in need of an overhaul when it forces couples to be apart for so long.
For those of you currently standing in front of Everest in your carpet slippers and wondering how you will climb it - have faith, you will make it.
Take care everyone, and thanks for all the advice over the last 2 years.

My husband and I keep reminding ourselves that although waiting SUCKS, we are appreciative that we both have our jobs during the pandemic. There is no saying if he got to move here in the summer as hoped for, he would get his docs in order, his SSN sent, and find a job due to the delays in SSN and employment unknowns due to the pandemic. We know everything happens for a reason and perhaps the delay is in our favor right now. We are so blessed in many other ways.
anyways, i still am dying for an interview date lol.
That is just my slice of positivity. Happy Friday everyone!

My husband had a successful interview today in Paris. We thought that the interview would get canceled when France went back into lockdown last week, but made it through. He had a very positive experience with a very nice officer. He asked how we met, if petitioner(me) is a naturalized citizen, who the joint sponsor is and asked for photos. The officer was apparently quite interested in our love story since I'm Colombian and he is Indian...you know the cultural differences. This process although faster than expected.. has been a roller-coaster and I am just happy to know that every effort is eventually worth it. Very grateful for this community. My best wishes to all!

Hello all, Alhamdulilah my husband just had his interview yesterday, October 27th, 2020 and it was approved. We got the interview because we requested an expedite request due to a family medical emergency, which they approved. We will be sharing our detailed consulate review soon, inshaAllah. We are wishing everyone the best through the rest of this process and praying that everything goes quickly and smoothly for all VJ members!

Sad news from Dublin today- visa services are suspended and interviews are canceled. I'll take the interview date off my timeline and it should be removed from the spreadsheet as well- don't want to give anyone false hope.

Hello everyone, my husband got his interview date today for November 2nd. Our category is CR1 and PD August 2019. Visajourney has been the most helpful source for us in this journey so I wanted to share the news here. Thank you all and please keep us in your prayers that his interview goes well. 😊

My husband had his interview at the Dublin Embassy this morning and OUR VISA WAS APPROVED!!! 🎉
He said he was there for about an hour total, but most of it was waiting around -- the actual interview took less than 10 minutes. Because it was such an important interview he had been nervous all week but he said it was very friendly and actually a bit underwhelming with how easy it went.
He said he was asked the following questions, most of which were threaded through the very pleasant conversation they had:
Where is your wife currently? How long has she lived there? What does she do for a living? When/how did you meet? When do you plan to go to the US? He brought everything that was requested in the email the Embassy sent when they confirmed the appointment. We also brought copies of everything, as well as proof of our relationship which included letters and photos. They didn't ask to see any of it. We were given a little over 3 weeks notice when the interview was scheduled and we were able to have the medical exam performed a week after receiving the interview date. The medical results were sent electronically directly to the Embassy and they were already received by our interview date, which was 2 weeks later.
So we're very excited going into the weekend! Now we just have to wait for the courier service to send him his passport with the Visa inside so he can hop on a plane!!
