BlueberryMuffin reacted to powerpuff in RFE for I-693 - Do We Really Need to Have a New Medical Done?
Some civil surgeons agree to transcribe the vaccination portion only but most don’t. It’s really about finding the one that would just do the vaccines and you’d have to pay less. But it doesn’t really matter now, you already had it done.
Yes, it is true that if you filed AOS within 1 year of the overseas medical with a panel physician, you do not need to do another medical. However, USCIS can still request it and there’s nothing much you can do. Arguing with them is unproductive, it’s just easier and faster to get the medical done and send it off.
There’s a good chance your interview will be waived. There’s been a trend that K1 AOS applicants have had their cases approved and interviews waived after an RFE for I-693.
Mail it to Boston. As I mentioned, if you sit there and try to figure out how USCIS works and why it does things the way it does, there would be no end in sight.

What software did you use? You may have made a small mistake on your form. The new forms put out by USCIS are somewhat buggy in certain programs. Our joint sponsor couldn't type in a few of the fields, and it auto-filled their household size wrong and would not let them change it.
I opened the document in Adobe Acrobat DC (the paid version in my case) and the household size glitch went away and they could type in the other fields.
Do you have exact copies of what you sent USCIS? Check part 5 and 6, they were the parts we had tech trouble with.

BlueberryMuffin reacted to K1visaHopeful in Married Within 90 Days on a K1, but I’m Unsure What Forms We Need To File Now That Beneficiary’s I-94 Expired
I don't know the question number and I don't care to look.
Entry status = K1 Visa Holder.
CURRENT status = as above.

No
Yes.
Your status is "K1 Visa Holder-Out of Status".
However if you haven't been arrested yet, lol, that's a non-issue.
File ASAP.

BlueberryMuffin reacted to Sadi Shah in My insanely long 221(g) process
Hi everyone,
I posted a topic a few months ago on my husband receiving a 221g form for "domicile evidence," you can read about it here:
I feel compelled to write this post now because it seems there are people on this forum who give advice based on how they've "never come across anything like your case after seeing hundreds of discussions over more than 10 years" and assume the worst case scenario and basically make you feel horrible. I want my situation to be a reminder to anyone reading this in a similar situation that:
1. the majority of people in the world going through immigration are not sharing their unique stories on here;
2. if your case is taking longer than any other case ever discussed on here, it does NOT mean something has gone horribly wrong;
3. we live in unprecedented times with the covid pandemic impacting immigration operations across the world so if anything, expect the unexpected.
With that said, this is what happened with my husband's case:
March 2021: Interview at London embassy, got 221g form
March 2021: Sent requested documents via courier
May 2021: Followed up with embassy, asked to upload documents to CEAC (I'm assuming they ignored or lost the copies we sent via courier)
May 2021: Uploaded same documents to CEAC along with some affidavits as suggested by lawyer
July 2021: Got in touch with my home state Senator, who sent out an inquiry on my behalf.
July 2021: Visa approved the very next day! Issued and mailed to us in no time. Entered the US together, thank God.
So, the process basically took 4 months, and the visa got approved literally 1 month before my husband's medical was going to expire! I have searched the internet far and wide and have yet to come across a situation like ours. One tip I would definitely give after this is to be proactive about your case (consult lawyers, contact your senator, keep emailing the embassy every few weeks - pro tip: check for contact information they only give out on forms at the interview).
I hope this was helpful.

Congratulations to all the couples getting interviews and getting approved. I hope you're all reunited soon 💗
My fiance has his interview at the London Embassy on August 2nd! Wish us luck, we're both nervous. I can't wait to have him in my arms again.
ETA: For people worried about their case "expiring" on CEAC, don't worry, ours did too but then my fiance got a letter from the embassy saying they were ready for him to schedule an interview. Since the pandemic was beyond our control, the London Embassy just requires an updated intent to marry letter from me, check what your embassy requires. Best wishes!

BlueberryMuffin reacted to Scandi in Missing Canadian Police Certificate - Reschedule Interview or Submit Documents After?
He goes to his interview and gets interviewed. After the interview they refuse his visa application and puts him in AP until he can provide them with everything they need to make a decision. Happens all the time.
He will be given a letter saying his visa application was refused and it will let him know what he needs to do next (ie send in the required documents once he has them).

BlueberryMuffin reacted to Wuozopo in Missing Canadian Police Certificate - Reschedule Interview or Submit Documents After?
@BlueberryMuffin
Don’t put off the interview. They are too hard to get. They will still interview him in London. He will just have to submit the police certificate when he can . They will give him the information on how to submit it.
why does it go to you instead of directly to him?

BlueberryMuffin reacted to Lemonslice in My fiance in the UK needs a Canadian police certificate, what box should he check for his reason for the request?
Others with experience in London might be able to guide you on deciding between rescheduling and 221g.
Best of luck!

Thank you for this information!
Does the privacy act take longer to get? From what I'm seeing it's taking people (especially overseas) a long time to get their certificate.
Would we be better off getting the one for a visa and hoping for the best since they say "Alternate Documents: Criminal Record Check for Personal Use" or show up possibly without any kind of certificate and explain that there just wasn't enough time?
I'm very confused and stressed because the fingerprinting agency told us to check off "visa"

BlueberryMuffin reacted to Wuozopo in Links on the K1 Guide for LONDON - help
The website has said that for a very long time...2007? I didn’t take my kids birth certificate and I can’t think of anybody who got held up for non-immigrating kids birth certificates.
That link to the K1 instructions is what they send in your letter from the embassy. Read all the links, and theFAQs.
That is mentioned a number of times in the London interview reviews... Don’t get in the long line.
For anybody who hasn’t explored all the parts of this website, you can find London reviews. Start at the menu item “Office Reviews and Info” then find Consulate and USCIS reviews. Then London.

Best of luck! It seems daunting, but there really isn't anything to worry about. They just ask for your documents and will ask a few questions about how you met, what you both do for work, etc. The embassy is architecturally pretty spectacular in my opinion, so I really enjoyed seeing it.
One mistake I made was to wait in the non-immigrant line in the elevator lobby for about 25 minutes (for B1/B2 visas) when you actually are processed in the 'immigrant visa' section of the embassy, so make sure to ask!
Let us know if you have any questions

if you are reading the pinned thread at the top of this forum, it was true six years ago. Just about everything has changed including the links. DO NOT READ IT.
i requested it be unpinned, but that was apparently declined. Maybe if you also report it and say it is totally out of date and confusing then it will get some attention.

The "Applicant's Readiness Form" hasn't been used for quite some time. Follow the instructions on the embassy website here which describes the full process as well as the documents you need to bring:

Once you have your NOA2 then send off an email using the instructions from the PDF. There is no need to wait as your file may have come and gone by the time you file a email request. Yes the numbers are correct and is normal.

BlueberryMuffin reacted to jeanieCZ in Proof of ONGOING relationship
Phase one: Filing the I-129F petition
You need a proof of meeting in person in the past 2 years, so that would be pictures of you two together and a proof of taking the trip such as flight tickets and boarding passes. Feel free to include chatlogs, emails, letters or whatever you have even if those are not strictly required, if you don't include any, you might get a Request For Evidence..
Phase two: Interview at the local US embassy
To prove that your relationship has been ongoing since the filing, present evidence such as:
- photos
- chatlogs
- screenshots from videocalls
- call logs
- flight tickets or itineraries
- boarding passes
- any booking/reservation that has the names of both of you on it, such as hotel reservations, entree tickets to shows or events, train bookings
- bank logs showing payments by you both in the same period of time at the same location (such as during your vacation in Venice)
- postcards
- letters

BlueberryMuffin reacted to JFH in I129F - Proof of Meeting Airline Ticket/Itinerary, etc
Anyone with a credit card can purchase a flight ticket and therefore have an itinerary. Only a person with a passport stamp can prove they actually took the flight and entered the country.

BlueberryMuffin reacted to Juls801 in I129F - Proof of Meeting Airline Ticket/Itinerary, etc
This happened to my flight too and I didn't explain at all. Just included copies of the boarding passes right after itinerary in the original petition. I had zero problems and no RFE.

BlueberryMuffin reacted to payxibka in Do Notarized Witness Statements Need To Be Originals?
Are careful read of the instructions will indicate that copies of original or certified documents is the standard. When in doubt, follow the instructions of the rule maker
However, affidavits are of little to no utilitarian value
