Very much like the one in the petition but with a newer date. Don't forget to also say "intend to be married within 90 days of Adam's arrival on a K1".

Yes, very easy and such a non-issue that sometimes they don't even ask to see it.

Not for London. Read the Instructions to K1s they provide on their website.  On the page for required documents https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/  you will find this in the list.

    Petition Affirmation Letter (if applicable)
If your petition expires before the visa interview takes place, you are required to bring to your interview a signed letter from your petitioner confirming that you both remain legally free to marry and that you will marry within 90 days of your arrival in the United States.   That's it! Nothing else to do but get a new letter from USC

Forgot to say...the instruction steps on the website changed recently and are messed up and out of order. Webmaster blunder I would guess. My order I posted to you is more like what it used to say.

You can start now. Letter isn't necessary.

I would suggest this order of doing business:
Submit DS-160. Gather documents. (for interview as well as documents for medical appointment). You don't want a looming appointment if you hit a hiccup and won't have what you need for the appointment.  Book your medical date by calling the clinic. 020 7486 7822.  Book the courier, pay, and pick an interview date all at the same time on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv. Select “I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment”. Leave 10-14 days between medical and interview for best results. Attend your medical. Attend your interview.
Gather documents step is important. See lists:
    https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/
    http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm

And do read all the information and FAQs on the embassy website instructions. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

The UK community on VJ says the employer letter alone will do for London. The bank stuff is superfluous since her salary well exceeeds 100% of the poverty level. She doesn't need to list her assets since she has the salary. They don't even require a tax return from a K1 in London. If you want 2 proofs of her income, then add the payslips, but London has approved many on only an employer letter. There's a UK FORUM on here that can help with London specifics. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

The I-134 does not have a place to report student debt. If you are talking about Part 3, 8b, that is a real estate section for those who need to sponsor with assets for lack of enough salary. They need to know the house debt to determine the value of the real estate asset. If the property is worth $300,000 (8a) and the mortgage/debt is $280,000 (8b), then the value they give you for the asset is $20,000.

Do it over if you put student loan debt in the real estate section. Or credit card debt or auto loans. That is not asked for.

    Hi!

I'm hanging in there although it seems as though it is taking forever! Our NOA2 is dated 20th June 2019 and still nothing from the NVC... As mentioned my fiancee called them today and they still haven't got it... I guess we just keep on waiting then!

    Thank you for your response!

I-134 goes to the interview, so get it when you visit.

Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age.
Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster.  MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella.   Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. They will also waive the shot in the UK for "not routinely available". That works for spouse visas but not fiancés who could get the shot after POE and go to a civil surgeon to sign off.  Influenza - Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31.  If your medical is not during flu season, it is waived. The chart is on page 8 of this vaccination document from the visa medical technical instructions https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/pdf/Vaccine-TI-Panel-Physicians-H.pdf

Note: you only need the age appropriate shots. You don't have to have a record of all the shots in the big list you'll see or make up any baby shots. As long as you address the four shots for adults with either a record or a waiver, then you're good.

Your fianceé could be gettting the I-134 prepared and in the mail to you.

You can order your police certificate from ACRO and get the things needed from your GP in preparation for your visa medical. See the list of what is needed to attend the medical in London.
    http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm

Do get the shots needed for AOS before your medical so you can get signed off. There's four shots on the adult list but you can get two waived 1) Varicella if you've had chickenpox, 2) Influenza if you attend your medical before Oct 1 when flu season begins.

Fiance visa is a 1-time entry visa that gets cancelled upon your POE. From there, you have 90 days with which to get married and then adjust status.

In a nutshell,  once your K1 Visa is approved, you will have up to 6 months to make US port of Entry, (best to do it in a month),  then when you arrive, your K1 is only good for a one time entry and you MUST marry within 90 days (again, do it the first month).  Once married, you should file your Adjustment of Status (AOS), to apply for a temporary green card (AND file for your Advance Parole and EAD Employment Authorization Document). Then wait. You CAN NOT leave the United States until you get your Advance Parole card or you will not be let back in.  Your physical says good for one year, BUT under K1 Rules, once you file your i-485 AOS it is good until your petition is approved or denied.    There are great how to info above on this site!

Here is your process once you have the visa in your passport and it is in hand:

    1. Enter the USA, when this happens CBP (US border patrol) will issue you an I-94 good for 90 days(now online, so you will not get a paper one)

    2. Get your SSN if you can before you marry, if not you will have to wait till you get your Employment Authorization

    3. Get your marriage certificate

    4. Get married within the 90 days on your I-94

    5. After marrying and receiving your marriage certificate, apply for I-485, adjustment of status, I-765, Employment authorization, and I-131, advanced parole, as soon as possible. Advanced parole is in case you want to travel while green card is in process (as mentioned, when you get your NOA1 for your I-485 you are in an authorized period of stay till a decision is made on your green card)

Hope this helps. If you have questions feel free to message me.

It's why it's so important to do all your research before applying for anything - you know what you are signing up for down the road, for example, having to wait for a work permit or green card before working stateside, and you know what is expected of you down the road, such as when to apply for AOS and what your timeframe obligations are.

You have to get married within 90 days upon entering the US with your K1 visa. You don't leave, otherwise what was the point. If you leave without a work permit or green card, you can't come back. The K1 visa is null and void once you've entered the country. If you don't get married within the 90 days, that's when you shouldn't be here.

The rule of thumb is to get your AOS application submitted before your original visa expiration date, even before the original 90 day window closes. The sooner the better, honestly, because you're eating up your wait time, by delaying it. Be as prepared as possible to compose your AOS application before arriving so it's that much easier to complete once you've gotten married.

As for working - apply for your work and travel permit when submitting your AOS application. It costs nothing to file them all together. The permits often times process faster/sooner than green cards. In the meantime, utilize your free time between arriving and being able to start job hunting by acclimating yourself with your new home/city. Prepare for your driver's license, if that's a necessity for you, venture around town and learn where things are, find places you will need either right away or down the road such as applicable doctor's offices, hair salon, etc. This is no surprise for K1 applicants - you know this is part of the process when you apply. You aren't able to work right away. Yes, it does suck, but I imagine it was much worse when you and your partner were living in separate countries. Enjoy the extra time together while you can - when you do start working, you and your partner won't necessarily be working identical hours, so some of that time together may go away.

    Welcome to the forum.

Here are two things that you need to do in order to be able to understand the K1 visa process.
The first thing is to read and
    heed the K1 Visa Checklist: https://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow/ .

The second thing is to: , currently it is vacant. It helps everyone that uses the forum. Additionally it helps give he VJ stats relevance. Plus other members can then easily see where you are in your visa journey, and formulate the most appropriate answers relative to your current visa position, right now it is a big guess.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

I think EAD’s are 4-6+ months to receive.

I suggest using that time to read through the guides here so that you are better prepared for the next leg of the journey.
