CJO032418 reacted to Mr Trav in Trump's future immigration policies- speculation MEGATHREAD
The Hill, Fortune, Forbes. Is this enough? My God. Need to see my credentials? I am white. Republican and live in a southern state (all true by the way) Good God, people. Just asking a basic question...a couple have given answers but others want to harp on what sources. Just forget it.

There's pretty much one rule that's held constant throughout INS/USCIS history: file as early as possible.
The immigration process has become a joke now.
6.5-8.5 months for AP/EAD? 9-11 months to get a K1 visa, only to encounter another wait of up to... 12-18 months for a 2-year green card in some locations? 14-16 months to remove conditions? Major N400, CR1/IR1 slowdowns It's no shock people take the chance and AOS from a tourist visa, rather than go thru ridiculously long separations, and risk the off-chance of getting stuck in some BS administrative processing black hole, separated the whole time for an indeterminate period of time.
I belong to another country-specific immigration forum, and it's almost unbelievable to so see what members went through up to 2016. For example a K1 visa used to take 4-6 months, AOS would be 4-6 months, ROC 6-8 months, CR1/IR1s 10-12 months, and so on.

I don't think there is anything to worry about just now - they still need a reason to deny you... It is not like they are randomly selecting only 3 out of 5 applications to make it to the next round. Now, if you are planning your sister-in-law or parents-in-law to immigrate, that might not be possible for much longer.

You’re very welcome. I didn’t want to pay for an attorney. Plus I’ve seen a lot of people pay for one and then the attorney makes a lot of mistakes and delays then for weeks or months.
But it if you have a unique immigration situation, a good attorney, can afford it, and it gives you peace of mind then keep him or her.
Ive been learning by trial and error and from others on VJ. My husband and I had a month stuck in NVC but we finally got CC on April 15.

It might be different for different embassies but here is what happened to me (New Zealand) - I called my embassy and asked if I needed to provide the 2018 transcript and they said to upload the 2018 transcript to CEAC. Then about a week before the interview they suddenly emailed and said I also needed to submit a new I-864 as well with the 2018 data on it. It was very inconvenient because I was already in Auckland for the medical and interview (not my home city) so I had to try to find places with internet and to print and scan everything! Then when I tried to upload it the CEAC portal kept crashing. I asked the lady at the embassy if I could just email it to her and she said no, it has to be uploaded to CEAC by me so just keep trying. Not much fun when you are in a strange city without easy access to a computer/internet etc! I finally got it done but would recommend uploading both the transcript and updated I-864 well in advance so you’re not super stressed at the last minute like I was!! As I said, this might be different for different embassies though, of course!

I love my fiance because he completes me. He calms me when I go into my worried state. Also I never knew what a relationship really could be nor love was until I met him. This being apart is so very very hard. I just keep remembering one day at a time and we are on Day 23 after our NOA1.

If you could only see the way she loves me
Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me
because she is sweet, funny, kind, gentle, beautiful, generous, smart, impulsive, emotional
because there is nothing like hearing her voice that sounds like a little song when she speaks
because no one has ever made me laugh the way she does
because we share similar goals
because she has the best hugs and the softest kisses
because she is good at things i am not and i am good at things she is not
because together there is nothing we can't do, it us us against the world

I love the feeling she makes me feel , the excitement I feel when I see her smile, the way she says I love you. I love being the first and last person to say I love you. I love her sweet and gentle nature, the way she can get excited about the smallest things and the way her smile can light up my darkest day, the fact i can tell her anything without fear of judgement. I love everything about my Pangga she is definately the missing piece of my heart that im so thankful everyday i found her

Everything I ever wanted or could dream of wanting in my wife, everything I ever wanted to feel for my wife, everything I ever wanted my wife to feel for me, she has it and makes me feel it, and she feels it, and she loves me unconditionally, the good and the bad, I trust her 100 and I feel safe with her, our relationship is far from perfect and we have both been tested in our time together, but we reconcile and continue in the noble pursuit and experience of love and faith, and we feel very positive and hopeful for our future together amidst all of the uncertainty in these life altering circumstances we find ourselves in, we feel good about Chapter 2 when she arrives to the US based upon the foundation we've built together and our capacity to make love a verb with each other and the icing on the cake is she is a super sweet, sexy Colombiana, my favorite...

I'm hoping some will have some pretty colours and patterns like this.
They raise my other chicks so I don't have to keep them in the house doing it myself. Plus they are so pretty they are yard art

Hi everyone waiting on Lagos and everyone else waiting on their respective countries too.
I just wanted to share how I feel.
Sometimes in this waiting I am sad as I wait to be reunited with my husband; the man given to me by God who ordained our relationship.
We all keep ourselves busy with day to day life with this longing always lingering in the background.
But praise God, our Lord, who loves us with perfect love. Who has every good intention for our lives. For our God is intentional.
This hurdle that is in front of us will be thrown into the mist of the sea. Far be it from us to not have faith even when our anguish may sometimes keep our eyes from seeing the good end God has already done in our lives. He has done it.
“Through it all, my eyes are on You. And through it all it is well, Lord.”
Patiently wait on God and let it be well with your soul. We will not be cut off from our expected end.
Proverbs 23:18 KJV

Hi
Not sure. I looked at the timelines of people on VJ for Nigeria and saw since fall 2018 it was taking 8 weeks to be assigned an interview. About 4 to 6 weeks to get the IL.
earlier in 2018 and in 2017 it was only 4 weeks for the date. Also Nigeria got rid of the drop box this week for non immigration visa so I’m not sure what type of backlog that will now create.
But this is how my husband and I see it
we waited in a void for about 7 months to hear anything on our 130. Then spent 4 months stuck at NVC for nonsense. Finally got CC. So the only thing is getting his visa. We know what’s going to happen next. We aren’t stuck and we are not in the dark about what’s going on anymore. By Gods grace he will get his visa. So it’s just this last step then he will be home. No more unknowns and uncertainty.
We have a short time remaining waiting for the inevitable.

CJO032418 reacted to RyanAndMary in Zero contact from government after my interview. Is this normal?
I don't know why almost every person responding here had to be nasty. It's our responsibility? DUH that's why we are using this site to gather information. Being nasty and rude to people asking questions serves no purpose. We ARE googling things, like I had to do at the start when the USCIS sent me broken links. They don't need to "hold hands" but giving me a link to documents to fill out so we know they're the right ones and up to date, and not broken out of date ones like they sent me in the email should be a requirement. Nasty people. Why do you bother coming to the site to answer questions if you're going to be that awful?
