just got my interview for Montreal cr-1
 
My initial date was April 23 my new appointment is October 7!

It went very well, thank you. Visa issued!! Its been a very long road , but I'm relieved. Be patient guys, I can attest that they are actually working in there now. Thanks to everyone here for all the input and info and good luck to all!

Thanks to everyone for being so patient and nice to me as I end my 26month consular journey and start my *&??? month AoS journey just as 70% USCIS staff furloughs are announced.   Fed up!!!!!  But...at least I am with my spouse, so I am very thankful.

Medical has to not expire for a month after interview date...so I would have had to retake it as mine would have expired Sept 6th.  
They are requiring 14 days strict quarantine before  medical/interview as per Canadian border requirements at this time.  
 
I was asked to email back to confirm attendance...just the generic IV email address.

All other requirements were the same as usual.

I received my IR1 visa interview date from Montreal this morning....they are rescheduling the cancelled interviews from March and April first.  My DQ date was November 19, original interview date was March 23.  Hope this helps with your planning...

No you can’t collect EI. I’m just saying I’ll have to say I’m unemployed. The EI pauses while you’re gone (they know from the biweekly report you fill out) and you can restart it when you get back. I confirmed with someone I know who works in the EI office.

I called CBP and they said I can cross at Pearson. Also, INF is offering health insurance for Canadians and covering COVID as a new illness. One of the only ones doing so I believe. Obviously you should go for the highest premium should you choose it.

Just giving a little update. I had my medical today with Dr Lydon Mascarenhas in Toronto. Overall great experience, super nice Dr. The secretary, Lilly, was very helpful as well. I called her in a bit of a panic a few days prior to my appointment because I waited till the last minute to get my family doctor to sign their immunization checklist. I thought that my yellow immunization record that I've had from birth would be enough for my family doctor to fill out their form. For whatever reason, my family doctor felt the need to have my bloodwork done in order to prove my immunity instead of just signing the form based on my past history. The problem with that is results take a week to get back and I had my appointment with Dr Mascarenhas in just 2 days. So when I called Dr Mascarenhas's office, the secretary Lilly reassured me that since I had proof of my immunizations I would be fine and I didn't have to wait for the blood work and I could just come in. So I attended my appointment and all went well. The time spent there was a little less than 2 hrs from beginning to end. The X-ray's are done downstairs in the basement level of the office, and blood work and urine samples are taken at LifeLabs across the street.
 
ADVICE: Get the immunization checklist completed early if you can to avoid any potential issues with proving immunity. Also  I was surprised that I was required to have a flu shot even though my interview is in April, and flu shots are only required by the US November through March. Dr Mascarenhas said that because my appointment with him was today (still in March) that I had to have it. They don't do immunizations on site, so when I got home I ran to the walk in clinic and got the shot. I emailed Dr Mascarenhas a scanned copy of my updated immunization record with the flu shot included as they requested, and that's it!

I watch it as I find it entertaining but I keep in mind they are on TV for a reason. There has to be some drama involved otherwise people wouldn't watch it. But obviously it is real life situations and something can be learned from the show about the immigration process. 
I do find this forum sometimes depressing and sad with the sad stories. 😥
