I had the oath ceremony today. It was a large ceremony of over 500 people. Took almost 3 hours, mostly waiting for everyone to get through security and seated.
Glad for the process to be done 😊- PVR Bound, l-h and Visitor User

What questions did they ask?
Some FO don’t do that. I am not sure why.
6 civics questions and then just basic questions about where I live, my phone number, marital status, travel, where I work.

Congrats! Great to hear the oath ceremony was scheduled immediately as well. Any idea why they didn't do the oath on the same day? Does your FO not do that?
No idea. He just said that they just got notified about a ceremony that would take place on February 29th

Hi, can anybody recommend a cross border tax accountant? I am now a US resident but still work for a Canadian employer. I am having trouble finding one that will take on my taxes...last place refused to do it saying it was too complicated. Thanks!

Hmm I remember paying USD for mine 2 years ago at Montreal.
I had my medical last month and it was all in Canadian

Try to get the needed vaccines before getting it done at the Medical exam, will save you money. If you get it done at the Medical exam they will charge you USD prices while you could have just got it done for free at a Canadian doctor instead.
The Montreal clinic charges you in Canadian funds and I doubt any of the clinics on the list charge USD. They are not American clinics but Canadian clinics approved to conduct immigration medicals. But it’s a private clinic so yes it’s more expensive. 35$ for flu vaccine

Sorry if this has been asked. Given the current lockdowns and restrictions on inter-provincial travel, has anyone travelled from Toronto to Montreal recently for their interview and what method of transportation did you use? If driving, did you need to supply any documentation at the provincial border? I was thinking of taking a train but I might drive instead especially if the train schedule dictates a hotel stay. Hoping to make a day trip out of it - get in and get out. Thanks.
There are no inter provincial restrictions right now between Quebec and Ontario.

Woooooo! We changed to ISSUEd - Final Processing this afternoon, the day after our interview. I haven't seen tracking information come through yet. Is there a place online I'm suppose to look? I see this link but it has a 404 error for me. https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_courrier_information
You will get an email with tracking.
I had my interview on December 2nd and tracking was only sent yesterday. -

Clarification above
Turns out I didn’t scan my PC before my interview otherwise I would have posted it here.
but on page 131 somebody else posted this screenshot explanation from the RCMP.What I had and was accepted:
Type: criminal record check for personal use
sub type : other (provide details)
so it looks like the one posted on this page by @Wanderist is correct EXCEPT for the subtype. ”Other” type includes youth charges and I think that is why it is the right one.

I AM SOO CONFUSED WITH THE CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK MINE LOOKS LIKE THIS IS THIS THE RIGHT ONE?Scanned at 11-28-2019 15-28 PM (2).pdf
Definitely not the right one. Has to be from the RCMP not local police

About these new RCMP standards: I suspect NVC may be looking for "Other" to appear beside "Type of Criminal Record Check for Personal Use."
The update email states the application type is renamed although the subtypes remain the same...
My $.02USD
Yes I can confirm that this is is what I had. I got mine done on November 2nd. The change happened on November 1st so anything done after that date will have that wording. My interview was December 2nd and this was accepted.

Thank you @mam521 and @Dbrennan! If the expiry date is not a concern, then the remaining concern is that @Lovenature was asked for an updated I-864. Is that something we should expect to happen to us?
I think because the employment situation changed. I am bringing a new one to the interview because my spouse got a new job. Otherwise I wouldn’t.

Yes! That’s the real question. Does the consulate know this is the new/updated police certificate? Lol
And for those of us that have interviews coming up, will the privacy act one still be accepted given this recent/new change? It seems that the folks that got a police certificate in November are all following this new format. Anyone before November was still being issued the privacy act one. I definitely don’t have the time now to get a new certificate, so let’s hope they are accepting the privacy act ones still!
The instructions still say privacy act so it seems the RCMP has amended their template. I hope they have communicated this new change.
