I got it 3 times too :( last one I got( in October) it was the one that says other under Privacy Act, people that had interviews this week assured me that  is the correct one. IDK.... I have my interview in 2 weeks.

Well I guess I’m going for a 4th time. At least the turn around seems quick.
The frustrating part is that I brought the expired one that looks like the one that was posted above with the privacy act and I said I need the same thing and this is what I got.

    Good luck on your interview!

Oh no, then have I got the wrong one....? 😧
Is it possible for you take a pic of your certificate to show us? (WIth all sensitive infos blurred of course)
Mine that I got done at a local police station was the only one available (granted the lady had never done anything like this so we were both quite confused)

    *quick edit again*

also odd that the requirements in the official website ( https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Canada.html )

states that no fingerprint should figure on it...?

I know...as I said this is what I got however I am not sure if it’s the right thing. The guy at commissionnaires did say they keep changing it.

Hello, a friend of mine had their interview done in Montreal on October 26th, 2020.

They had their visa refused because of their police criminal background check under the privacy act. The one they handed to the officer at the consulate said “Privacy act request type: Other.” It was not expired, and actually completed on October 10th, 2020.

To my knowledge, this is actually the correct one.

Has anyone else in Canada struggled with this? How did you resolve it?

I went last week to get a new one as mine was about to expire and what I received in the mail is completely different from what I got last year. It says other and RCMP national repository entire holdings which I think makes it the right one.
However what is new is that your picture, your fingerprints appear and there is a stamp on the certificate.

So maybe that is what is needed now?
I can’t say personally as I am still waiting for my interview but when I went to commissionaires the guy assured that that is what is now needed for immigration.

I requested it on the 22 of October and was in my mailbox today so I assume it came in yesterday.

I am wondering if the month of November has many IR1/CR1 interviews we can't see.  I have seen estimates that Visa Journey members only make up 15 to 20 % of those awaiting IR1/CR1 interviews in Montreal.  There were 101 IR1/CR1 Visa issued by Montreal in September.  Only 23 VJ Members had interviews scheduled that month and Visa Issuance for the later ones may be in the October Report. Only the November IV Issuances Report will tell and we won't see that until late December.  It is frustrating, indeed to be so "in the dark".

I doubt they scheduled 100 interviews on November 2 and 9th.
or even 50 if now they won’t be issuing the usual number but half.

k-1s now have 3 interview days in November and spousal only 2

anyhow maybe we still see something for the end of November next week however it looks like we only got ILs on October 13 and ever since they have been sending only k-1 stuff Almost daily which is several packets, ILs etc

They didn’t give people ample notice for reschedules so perhaps there will be some IL’s the beginning of November.  Two K1 interviews were scheduled with very little notice. I really don’t think they have a handle on things. If the consulate were a private corporation, we’d have little trust in them and they’d be bashed with on line reviews and quickly go bankrupt.   I  received an email back today about my enquiry and the OP said they were doing reschedules!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Even I know that’s not true! Even the automated reply back says they’re scheduling new interviews.  I just shake my head.

Are you speaking of the k-1s a few days ago? Their interviews look to have been scheduled week of October 13 but they got the official p4 letters this week.

For those that interviewed post shutdown, what did your accepted police certificate say?

I have the one that says "Other" and am trying to decide if this is just a fluke or if I need to get myself down to commissionaires for a fourth time:

Omg here we go again! This is absurd. I just went down to commissionnaires and got the one that says “other” I haven’t received it yet in the mail though.

It always been a source of confusion for me on how Canadian couples are able to apply days after their marriage.  Can you provide insight? I never asked before because it is irrelevant for me at this stage, but I’m genuinely courious to know what we could have done differently.

In Ontario, we had to wait for the marriage to be registered so they could issue a marriage certificate. That process is typically 10-16 weeks, we had it expedited by the request of City Hall when they submitted our signed marriage license and record of solemnization of marriage but it still took 5 weeks.

We got married in NY state and we got our marriage certificate after like 10 days in the mail. Then it was just a matter of filling out the paperwork.

I'm assuming they were expedites. If Montreal can manage to issue 44 diversity visas (inc spouses and children) last month when Canada doesn't even qualify for the lottery, I can see them approving 16 expedites out of 10 months of backlog :P

I assume Canadian permanent residents that got diversity visa? Dunno it seems like a lot of permanent residents interview in Canada

On another note, day  285 of waiting for an interview 😩

Why would it go to K1? K1 received the 16th (since 11th was a holiday), so spousals would get the 18th and then every Monday after that (23rd and 30th). K1s would go back to track scheduled every Wednesday. To be honest, I'm annoyed that they bumped down spousals to 1x a week LOL. We should have stayed at 2x a week (or more). This is all just speculation, I have no idea what they are actually thinking.

Because if we get the 18th then the schedule switches around and now spousal is on Wednesday’s so that everybody gets a day. This is just me speculating as well. Since they made up for the 11th by scheduling k-1 on the 16th.

Oh I am so annoyed. With everything lol

I agree with this 100%! Was thinking the same. The gap is simply too much if they send out letters Mid-Nov. I’m praying and hopeful for interview letters next week. 🙏🏽 Really hope they can get through January DQs at the least.

Letters for December last year came on November 13th. The first interview was scheduled December 2nd.
