Hey has anyone noticed there hasn’t been anymore k1 rescheduled or did I miss the notifications?
There was some Monday. Nothing since

Hey guys just a question is it true does anyone know if there’s still cases at consulate waiting to be scheduled (ones without interview dates yet) but sitting at the embassy? Someone posted on fb soo I got confused...
K-1s maybe. But their process is different.

So I’m guessing no K1s rescheduled or even CR1s scheduled today? Ugh 😞
Monday’s are pretty quiet. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday

Anyone with any experience? It's not easy getting in contact with the immigration folks in Montreal...
They will contact you. You just have to wait. We’ve seen some expedited interviews scheduled recently

Yes. K1 were interviewed on Wednesdays only pre-covid while spousal were Monday/Wednesday/Friday. It's actually pretty encouraging because based on what people are reporting in the Facebook group it's looking like they're getting through multiple weeks worth of interviews per day (they rescheduled the cancelled interviews from March 18th for October 19th and are now rescheduling the cancelled interviews from March 25th for October 19th too). If they can get through 2 weeks of backlog per day and they continue doing Monday/Wednesday interviews (of which there are 4 left in October) they might actually be done with rescheduling K1 by the end of October. Not going to get my hopes up yet, but it's encouraging so far.
I wonder if once the reschedules are done they move back to spousal. The way k-1 appointements are made is different so a bunch of cases are already at the consulate but never got to schedule their interviews in the first place. So that worries me that they will also move on to Those. Hopefully they can resume on alternate days for both visas.

Stay strong! We’ve definitely all felt this way and I used to feel like it’d never end and this was the only lifestyle we’d ever get... But this too shall pass.
Yeah we just gotta hope they keep moving and Montreal doesn’t shut down again. 🤞

Hey guys is it true k1 visas were only interviewed on Wednesday’s? I was reading on the k1 link but wasn’t sure? If that is the case that’s only 6 Wednesday’s of rescheduling..? I don’t know I’m just trying to give myself some hope I guess. Feeling a bit down.
That was true pre covid I think. The first reschedules are on a Monday October 19th

I am trying to be happy for the K1s being rescheduled but it is hard in this very moment. Even though we are both mission critical spouses are supposed to be highest priority while fiances are just high priority. I guess that's what being louder (and threatening to sue) gets you. Really regretting coming back to Canada on Monday, which I only did because I was expecting a November interview and needed extra time to get my THIRD police certificate because Montreal can't get their act together for long enough to not let the backlog reach AN ENTIRE YEAR.
I should probably back off on posting until I'm a more palatable human being...Same. Over it all.

I thought we would get for November with at nvc. But I’m kinda worried now considering oct 19 is closer to end of month and they still got half of March and all of April interviews to complete. Ughhhh and November is full of holidays.
Yeah this is unfortunate news. The new interviews may be looking at December.

@DGF Does the timeline differ if my spouse is in Canada but on a student visa? I am an US citizen but since my spouse was in Canada finishing up her masters we selected Montreal as the consulate. She is now done with master and has applied for a work permit.
Thanks
No difference but she needs legal status in Canada at the time of interview.
All this info is in the FAQ Thread -

I think they used to schedule end of month entering first week of month. So maybe by next week for nov interviews. Unless we get lucky and there’s some oct availibilities. But nvc thinks the embassy is still closed so montreal isn’t communicating well.
For november interviews it could be as late as the Second week of october.

Hi everyone! I have been following Montreal thread for a while now and decided to create an account to let you know a little update that I got from NVC yesterday. I saw somewhere on VJ that NVC was not sending any new cases to the consulate for new interviews. I just wanted to clarify that the agent I had on the phone told me that the consulate had to ask them to send new cases, only then, NVC will be able to send new cases to the consulate for scheduling new interviews (does it make sense?). So... I figured, maybe, the consulate is not entirely done rescheduling canceled CR1 interviews after all (?).
I know it's not much information but it's always better than waiting without knowing what's going on
Yes the consulate lets NVC know what timeslots they have for interviews, you get your IL, then NVC send your case to the consulate.

There's got to be a reason. Did you have the originals of everything? Maybe something went wrong with the medical? Did you have sufficient funds for AOS? Any background check issue? You don't have to answer here, these are private things about your case, but maybe something will click.
I cannot believe they didn't tell you anything about the next steps 😡😟
Pretty sure this happened to @Pat1976 i Dont think he ever got told why.

I wish I had good news like everyone that has had interviews or had their interview today. The interview portion was painless and quick. I had all and extra documents. Everything was going amazing until the end when he told me he couldnt approve my visa today and gave me no further information. TO say I feel shattered is an understatement.
Did they keep your passport?

Fyi
since my police clearance will expire in November, I got a new one. Fingerprinted on 9 September, and got it in the mail on 18September in Calgary. Not bad.
i will probably need yet another one in a years time, before I get an IL 😂
Same. Mine expires November 6th. I will go get a new one soon. I do hope to get an interview in November or December at the latest.
anxiously awaiting October now to see if we get ILs the first 2 weeks of the month. -

When the Consulate approves a K! Visa how do they code it on the monthly reports. They never show K1 Visas. Are they coded as CR1's ??
They are in the non immigrant visa report

Yours would probably be the first to be rescheduled. It appears that they finished the spousal cancelled rescheduling of interviews last Friday. We have not seen anything for any new interviews this week so maybe they will move on to k-1 now.

Congratulations to everyone who are finally getting interviews scheduled. I expect to be approved by end of the year and am trying to see how soon the Montreal interview backlog can be cleared.
1. Can someone provide me a quick summary of what NOA2 date are currently getting their interview dates and for when?2. I believe the number of IR1/CR1 applications must've gone down during March-June 2020 due to COVID and border restrictions. As such I expect the backlog to clear more quickly once March 2020 NOA2 folks get their interview dates. Can someone provide your views on this?
Thanks!
You are not in line for interview once you have NOA2 but DQ. DQ of mid December 2019 are getting their interviews rescheduled currently for beginning of October (people who had interviews in April 2020 but were cancelled due to COVID)
Here is the link to the spreadsheet where this is all tracked:

Hi all - chiming in here for the first time. @DGF Can I be added to the Montreal thread? I just updated my timeline, and i think i was DQ'ed. I received confirmation that everything was uploaded (DS-260, i-184, and civilian docs) back in June.
Does anyone know if that approval is enough, or is there another DQ approval? When I log into CEAC, I see that everything is there, submitted, approved, and I'm just sitting at the NVC.
Any encouragement or help would be appreciated. I am feeling beyond hopeless and stuck. The current boarder closure has heightened my feelings of frustration, fear, and sadness after running out of time on B2 issued in March and returning home to Canada.
I have been sitting at NVC since January.
It is a long wait for an interview but they have started rescheduling now the people who had their interviews in March and April cancelled due to COVID. These people had DQs from October, November and December 2019.
