Will they ask when he’s returning back to Canada or when he flies to the US? He has a plan to quarantine

Depends on the state. For sure when he gets back to Canada.
I flew Toronto - Houston and I had no issues. I was asked to show my return flight, why I’m visiting ...that’s it.

Thanks to everyone for being so patient and nice to me as I end my 26month consular journey and start my *&??? month AoS journey just as 70% USCIS staff furloughs are announced.   Fed up!!!!!  But...at least I am with my spouse, so I am very thankful.

    Good luck to all!

Best of luck to you! Thanks for all the updates.

Does anyone know how much approximate time NVC is taking to review RFE which were submitted again. It took 3 months for NVC to review my documents but unfortunately i got an RFE to submit W2s . Its been 1 month since i submitted those but haven't hear anything yet which is kind of frustrating. Btw i am in F2A Category so i know things are slow for us.

I think I waited 9 weeks on resubmission to NVC. That was last January.

Both my trips were under a week so this is a non-issue in Ontario, at least. There's just no way to enforce the full 14-day suggested quarantine. Other provinces may have more stringent rules but, even then, I can't see how a self-quarantine is enforceable.

Unless you are exempt you have to quarantine. It is not suggested it is mandatory. There are fines. It’s a Canada wide order.

No you can’t collect EI. I’m just saying I’ll have to say I’m unemployed. The EI pauses while you’re gone (they know from the biweekly report you fill out) and you can restart it when you get back. I confirmed with someone I know who works in the EI office.

Got it. Good luck. Update us how it goes.

I’ll let you know! I’m a little nervous just because I’m on EI so it’s hard to prove that I intend to come back. Hoping it’s all fine though cause I have nexus! Will update next week. 😊

Can you still get EI if you leave canada? I thought you had to be in Canada and willing to work to collect

  7. Do all of you traveling to the US right now have valid health insurance for the US?
Due to the global travel advisory, basically no insurance would cover you that I have found.   So if something were to happen you would have to pay out of pocket. This is why I’m hesitant to go for now.

Yes, moving.  No go.  And was told not to attempt again until the border reopens or they'll take my visa away.  I basically had to call and ask to stay at someone's house because I have no where to go. All my stuff is still with the moving company. The most upsetting part is that I was told it would be fine when I called.  It very much wasn't.  Today I got a letter from the Canadian Government telling me I am in mandatory quarantine for two weeks.  I never even got out of my car at the border.  This is a very frustrating experience all around.

Wow that is really terrible. Hopefully the border reopens in 30 days and you can move.

I tried to cross yesterday and did not get thru. I had called two days prior to going and whoever I talked to had said I'd get thru, no problem.  I didn't. And then got raked over the coals by security as I tried to go back into Canada. I was bawling. It was awful.

So you had your K-1 visa and you were moving? Or you were just trying to visit?

No he didn't work in US since 2014 because he moved here not long after our wedding. The US citizen need to return in US to establish domicile, find a job... So he need to leave Canada. When its time your husband will have to leave too, find a job and a place to live.

    This thread may help you

@LilyJ, @MWhite and @Mr & Mrs T. I finally managed to convince him, with your help to amend his filings, we now have accurate W2's and 1040s for when we finally get an interview. Thanks!

Haha honestly maybe I am being overly cautious with everything but with all the delays over little silly things I’ve seen on here and I’ve experienced myself I think it’s the best way to go.

Ok I apologize. I am CR1 but I am sorry about my profile and timeline. I have slow internet and find this site hard to navigate on my phone. I understand if you don't want to add me to the group but I hope you do anyway!

I will add you just wanted to make sure it’s the right place for you.
    when did you get DQ?

Is there a group for people still waiting for Cr1 interview in Montreal?

Can someone please tell me where?

    I cannot find it. Thanks

I was never K1. Can you add me too? Sorry, I find this forum confusing.

Your profile says K-1 which is a fiancé visa. Your timeline isn’t filled out either. The group is for spousal visas cr-1 or ir-1

My husband is adamant that he should file as single, as I'm a non-resident alien. He based this on information from the IRS. Hopefully that's ok, as we've no time to go back to H&R Block. We've lived together since 2015 and have join accounts in both countries so hopefully that suffices for evidence of a bona fide marriage.

You have to file married but filing separately like @Mr & Mrs T said.
