Yeah I’ve never heard of marriage certificate expiring. I got married in California also and the only one that has an expiration is the marriage license, it’s only good for 90 days from the time you apply for it. Confidential marriage should have the same kind of marriage certificate. Confidential marriage means your marriage won’t be in public records and as far as I know that’s about it. 

What did you file? Your AOS forms, if it is, it’s odd that you haven’t gotten a biometrics appointment.

@jakejonTrue and some people like me, doesn’t even get the fingerprint review completed update, mine went from fingerprint fee received to case ready to be scheduled for interview. 

This happened to me as I have many lines on my fingers, lines from washing too much the woman doing my fingerprint said. My first biometrics the woman didn’t say anything so I thought of good. A couple of weeks after I got another appointment for biometrics, apparently the FBI can’t process my fingerprint card. So I went to my second biometrics appointment and the woman that was doing my fingerprint old me that she will try to make it work but if it still doesn’t work she said I might get a letter to do police clearance. I didn’t have to do that as after a week my case updated to ready to schedule for interview.

@Derlon Noooo! Not the Kardashians he he. I used to watch 90 Day Fiancé or the other spinoff from the show. But I got tired of couples that are way over their head when it comes to being in a relationship. 

@icanbenobody what part is that? The one I have says details of parties before marriage. Then it’s dividedbetween husband and wife, and you fill up name, last name, middle name, date of birth and stuff for both 

@Chris Duffywhen she got her EAD/AP is it in her new name? Since I filed my AOS with EAD/AP if and when I get the combo card and it happens to be in my new name can I use my passport that has my maiden name to travel or does it need to match the name on my EAD/AP combo card?

@Chris Duffyoh okay, yeah, the fact that I changed name, I have no choice but to do the ROM I did my AOS using my new name, so it just make sense to do a name change on my passport also. 

@Chris Duffy don’t I need it? I changed name and when the time comes that I need to renew my Philippine passport I want it to be on my new name. Can you do that without doing ROM?

@Cyberfx1024 okay, I do want to mail it in actually, I live in Sacramento which means I will have to go all the way to SF for it. So if I mail it, will they return the original marriage certificate and the birth certificate or do I have to send just copies?

@accumbyteI filed it Nov last year. I’ll try to apply for ITIN and see how that goes. If I get my EAD next month or early March then that would be awesome but if not then I don’t want to wait up to the last minute before April 15. Coz who knows how long before I actually get a ssn after I get my EAD and apply for one. 

@John & RoseI applied SSN thru EAD, so I can’t apply for ITIN? 

And for someone who is here in the US and doesn’t have SSN and waiting for EAD/AP I can apply for ITIN also right? I didn’t want to take a chance and wait for my EAD/AP last minute. And how long does it take from the time someone file for ITIN to getting one?

I think you are okay, on the N-400 form they ask for your current address and your past address in the last 5 years

@rrobin0609 I click the link you put in and I check my status on both. The new one I turned on the email and text alert on all the forms that I submitted. When my status changed to case ready to be scheduled for interview, I got a text telling me that there is an update on my case number and to check it online.

@jaclynxf just do as much as you can before your trip. Regarding the utility bill, is it possible for them to add your name, so there will be 3 names. Not sure if that’s possible but give it a try.

Yes you should have sent photos, last I know you need 4 photos, 2 for each form.

@jaclynxf is your husband going with you to China? If not have him start collecting documents and pictures, so when you come back all you need to do is doucble check everything or add some, so you can send it ASAP.
