I’ve read it three times and I’m still speechless. He obviously loves her and she is a bit selfish.

You can ask if she will do marriage counselling. Many therapist are doing phone and video sessions. But it looks like she is done and most likely there is a lot more to this than what you are saying.
When someone is done that is it they are done.
You need to be careful, do not try this bull that you are head of the household ####### that will not fly here.
If she won't do counselling then leave and move on.

Are you using the actual instructions and optional checklist from the USCIS.gov site? Those documents spell out exactly what is required as supporting evidence for the I-129f petition. Please don't resort to YouTube and such when assembling petitions and forms for US immigration. Never ends well that way.

Why would it be different? If you took it away that would render the k1 useless

Yes to the K-1.
Spousal and all other immigrant visas are banned. A waiver is available, but no guarantee you would get it.

amy1411 reacted to SalishSea in K1 Visa Process clarity?
Read everything you can about the processes for Lagos. It is in a class of its own when it comes to US immigration. It has a high rate of K-1 denials due to the long history of immigration fraud there.
You will need more time spent in person than couples from other countries.

amy1411 reacted to Ivie & Eguagie in Do i need a divorce absolute(decree) from a customary court
You will need to get a divorce, because to the eyes of the embassy traditional marriages is still seen as legal marriage.

amy1411 reacted to SalishSea in Do i need a divorce absolute(decree) from a customary court
Feel free. I’m just telling you how the USCIS will see it, which is the important thing for petition approval.
-
amy1411 reacted to SalishSea in Do i need a divorce absolute(decree) from a customary court
It does not matter. I guarantee that if you do not provide evidence of legal termination of that marriage, the petition will be denied.

amy1411 reacted to SalishSea in Do i need a divorce absolute(decree) from a customary court
You need the decree absolute, or final decree of dissolution in its complete form.

Having a child together isn't proof of anything other than the fact that you had sex.

amy1411 reacted to ClickityClackity in Wedding celebration on K1 Visa in a foreign country before filing for legal marriage in the US
Remember that the final decision lies at the POE. If he feels like you are already married he might deny you entry and strip of your visa.
But again there would be no way for him to know that, so I think it's a gray area. I hope some other more experienced members can shed some light.

amy1411 reacted to geowrian in Wedding celebration on K1 Visa in a foreign country before filing for legal marriage in the US
DO NOT engage in any sort of marriage ceremony/celebration/whatever before entry into the US on the K-1 visa. The visa may be denied as a result, or you may be denied entry into the US, even if not legally recognized. If it is a legal marriage in any way under customary or statutory laws, it can be considered fraud to obtain or use a K-1 visa.
Just to clarify, a requirement of the K-1 visa is to marry within the US within 90 days from entry.

Nigeria is a high fraud country and it is very difficult to get a K1 visa through them. I reccomend getting at least 2-3 more visits in.

amy1411 got a reaction from suhridkhan in AP For Almost 2 Months And Now Changed To Ready
Have heard it goes from AP- READY- AP- ISSUED.
No one knows for sure i think it depends on the CO handling your case. Have been on Ready since before my interview which took place Dec 27th 2018 and then my fiace was given 221g for extra documents which we submitted on the 14th of January and it remained READY till Feb 15th when it changed to AP and again my case was also updated today and still remains in AP.
Until you are called to bring in your passport at the collection drop off for them to stamp your visa on your passport thats the only way its guaranteed

amy1411 reacted to dwheels76 in CR1 visa approved but passport returned to Courier
A lawyer can't stop issues. Lawyers are only needed for legal matters. Sorry you are going through this but this happens alot trust me. And sorry you wasted money on a ticket. never ever buy a ticket until Visa in hand. CO's change minds, Visa machines break, our systems get hacked and delays can be for weeks and months. Lessons learned o.
The process is like this a CO interviews the beneficiary. They may say approved or other things but it's the Supervisor over all the CO's that has final approval authority. So something the Supervisor saw that they needed to look into or more investigative information came in.
let me ask does your husband have children? You said he was never married but does he have children?
Have you and your husband gone over all the questions that were asked? Was there a particular focus on a subject matter?
Do you have red flags in your relationship? Other filings (you or him)?
Big age gap?
Short period of knowing each other?
only one visit and you got married haven't returned and visit was short?
Your next move call your Senator get them involved and tell them you were told nothing and you would like to know. See a lawyer will not look deeper, will not email, call or contact any representative to look into your case. They will shrug their shoulders and say "I don't know" as they collect your money.

amy1411 reacted to Ash.1101 in cry gave back passport
First, ask your friend to join the website, it's a lot easier to talk to the person who is having the questions.
Second, did they hand your friend ANYTHING other than the passport? Maybe something telling them that they should send something in?
Third, did they ever get the e-mail and if so what did it say?

amy1411 reacted to Moon&Stars in K1 visa
The status is likely to change several times. We also had to submit documents with a 221g. We experienced: Administrative Processing (AP), Ready, AP, Application Received, Nonimmigrant AP and finally issued. They kept his passport, so the timeline won't be the same, but it's not unusual to go through many different statuses after the interview.
Best wishes!

Then I don't know. It could be days, weeks, months or even years, or it could be tomorrow. When they ask him to submit his passport, that is a sure good sign.
