Once you become a US citizen, you can't use the Indian PP.

Also you may want to fix your timeline, it currently says your local office for N-400 is SJ. It is important for everyone around to have data straight so that we can keep track with the right local field office. Helpful for other VJ members.

I forgot I could check online until I saw this, hah! I am so used to waiting in the mail for all these things. Interview is scheduled for October 2nd in San Francisco, just 2 weeks away . My husband has NOT been studying at all 🙄 so time for bootcamp lol.

A day after we got the green card approved (today), we got a notice that my husband's interview has been scheduled for citizenship. Best of luck to everyone still waiting! I'm sure it will come through soon.

You can easily find out your local field office by zip code on their website.

I think the i751 has been low prioritized purely because even though we feel in "limbo" in real terms we actually remain permanent residents and enjoy all the benefits of this (with extension letter). We can still work and travel, others who are waiting for other forms to process can't say the same and need to be able to work or travel and can't until they're applications are completed.

Yes...we are still waiting. No update for sevaral months other than another 2 year extension letter. Our N400 says 1 day left for the estimate so maybe we'll get some movement soon.

This happened to us for a different notice at one point, but I don't remember which one. I think I filed something on the Uscis website for missing mail and it was sent again.

Good luck to you all! We are mailing out Dec1. Our window opened up Nov 14 so we are December filers now. Your list looks good. Ours is similar but included all our bills (in joint account). I'll post our list later.
    Good luck to you all!

My husband's window opened up on the 23rd but I just sent the packet on Saturday and it arrived today. So we may land in December filing group too!

It went fine! We waited together until we were called and I didn't expect to be able to stand there for the whole interview, but they let me! Yes they asked some questions. Here is my review I did then because I've forgotten the details by now: https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=25940

Akipog reacted to Loren Y in Apostilled marriage certificate for OCI
I had to get my marriage certificate apostille also. It's a 2 step process. You have to first get it done in California, then they mail it back to you. Then you have to get it done by the us government in Washington DC. You have to mail it in, and they will do their own thing and mail it back to you. Then you can use it to register your marriage in a foreign country. I did 2 copies fully apostle. Cost twice as much, but I'm glad I did, because they had to keep a full copy in Thailand when I registered the marriage there, and I still have a extra one. I did it with a Nevada marriage certificate, but it's the same process I'm 90% sure. You have to get it apostle by the State, then the US government. I went one extra step before I traveled all the way back to Thailand, and sent them to get verified at the local Thai consulate here in the US. Los Angeles actually, and it made everything even easier when I got to Thailand to register the marriage. It's not too expensive, just time consuming mailing everything here and there. I think I spent more money on postage than getting things apostille.

And once you get it fully done, yes, it will be valid in all the countries listed as part of the convention.

Just fyi you have to be married for 2 years before you qualify for OCI card. It might be ok to get married on a tourist visa but usually if you are applying for any sort of green card or status for him in the USA they are more suspicious of that, but if your plan is not to apply for any of those right away it may be ok. You may have to wait until India opens up for tourists until you are able to go...otherwise you  guys could meet in a another country that is allowing tourists.

Akipog got a reaction from Amrit Gurbir in Question regarding name in passport.
We applied for K1 and had green card interview in USA. My husband has a space in his first name and no middle name, it wasn't a problem. Sometimes some places will put a dash in between like the DMV did that. I also have two words in my first name but with a dash and was born in us and my passport has a dash between. But my DMV card doesn't. Sometimes they will combine or put a space or a dash but I have never had issues.

Yayyy received approval notice today and got an update from USPS that the package with my husband's green card is arriving Saturday! It's been about 4 weeks from the interview on Feb 4, if you see some of my previous posts the IO said they were going to send an RFE because the medical wasn't in the file, but a week ago the case was updated to say it was approved! Fine by me 👍😁. They must have found it somewhere. Good luck to everyone! See you in 2 years when it's time to remove conditions 😉.

I think it fulfills the requirement and you should be fine. We filed for our I-129F 6 months after our in-person meeting and it wasn't a problem. As long as the relationship is solid and you can show other evidences I would say you're fine either way. I also waited until the interview in Mumbai (which was one year after our last meeting), and that also was no problem.

That's ridiculous....I was thinking 4 months is already so long to wait. Is there anything that can be done to speed it up? My husband is suffering from boredom and wants to start work asap. Are there any options? Ugh.
