They probably think they need to petition for you. They don't.
They are not permitted to ask for specific evidence of authorization to work. They only need the requirements for the I-9.

The I-9 only needs either a List A document OR a List B + List C document. You should have B + C.

That said...
I highly suggest referring them to the above websites and to educate them on what is required. Do not go into it in a confrontational manner...actually holding them accountable for work discrimination is a very tough chore and not a point I think anybody wants it to get to.
Educate them...in the vast majority of cases that I've seen, it does get worked out this way. Best wishes.

Hi Everyone! I have been more of a ghost in this group, but am thankful for all of the tips and tricks. We filed AOS from k1 on 9/6/2019 and we approved on 12/6/2019. EAD and AP are still pending, but will be denied since the two year green card is on its way! So thankful to have been assigned to the Cleveland office. Good luck to everyone! 

Doing great actually, I'm not looking for our interview before a year anyway so I am not stressing over it. I figure its going to be a year before we get scheduled for our interview due to our local office (Dallas, Texas) very slow processing there or should I say many cases there 12 to 22.5 months. If it comes sooner great if not its still great. Our status did change to ready to schedule interview on November 7th. Thanks for asking and please keep us posted!

Status on USCIS site is now - Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview as of November 20. Yay! Wonder how long it'll take to actually be interviewed. My husband needs to give enough notice at work to take time off.

Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Our biometrics appointment was October 24, the status was updated the next day.  No update since.  So your situation isn't out of the ordinary.  With the USCIS there really is no rhyme or reason... at least not from our vantage point.  Just keep checking daily.

I had my biometrics on Oct 2nd, review completed the same day. & no update yet:/. Hoping to see that *case is ready to be scheduled* sometime soon! Aghh! 

Truly hoping all the RFEs are quickly resolved, very nerve racking as no one is immune from the dreaded RFE. Just hang in there and get back in there.

Lesson learned at my biometrics - sign with your married name. Out of habit I signed using my maiden name signature, same as my passport! I was told I cannot change it anymore after it gad been submitted and have to ask the adjudicator at interview to change it.

AKA stands for Also Known As. If you have used another name before like if previously married and used your ex husband’s last name as in my case.

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.
Did you not list a child on the I-129f application?
