My interview has been cancelled thrice since January. Twice almost week before the actual interview day. I have kinda lost trust and hope. I would rather have EAD than relying on GC interview to happen. 

Follow the instructions for the i765 and i131.  No fee required.   You attach a copy of the I797 for the i485 as proof of fee payment 

Green Card is now on hand, or should I say in my wife's itchy hand!!!!!!! It's been real folks, proof that patience is a virtue!!! I am still here with you all.

Another status update  4/7/2020 - Card Was Mailed To Me.

Well I guess it's official I just got the approval notice in the mail with notice date of 4/3/2020. I suspect the GC will follow in the next few days. Wow what a rush! I also suspect that others will follow!

Congratulations! Hope we hear our approval too. My interview was scheduled in the last week of March and then was cancelled. Haven't heard anything since then.

Update on our timeline: 

Ryan just received notice of AOS interview waived and approved. 🙏❤️!
Our timeline is posted on our profile but the  AOS interview was scheduled for April 15th in Chicago and cancelled due to the pandemic. 
I’m a bit in shock and thought the interview was required now. 
Maybe it’s a mistake ? 
When card is in hand than we will celebrate. 

I needed some good news today. 
I volunteer as a first responder due to the spike in COVD 19 locally and seeing this devastation has been something that I’ll never forget.
I’m certain that most of us here on this site and around the world have been impacted in one way or another. 
This in not an easy journey by any means and VJ has been amazing to us.   

We have met the most amazing couples and people that can relate to what we go through in the process.  
 
Here is to some hope  ❤️🎈🙏 that our case was approved and that all of you are safe at home.

@K1visaHopeful  -  yesterday on 04/07 we received New Card Being Produced and today 04/08 is has changed to Case Approved for i-485!  We had a Interview scheduled for 04/15 and got the cancellation notice about last week.  We are very excited at this because we were certainly not expecting it! 

Wow! You guys struggled for long during K1 but guess that wait was worth as u got ur GC without an interview. Congratulations!
I see it's almost two years since you had sent your K1 application. Mine would be two years too in couple of months. I hope the approve ours too without an interview. Our interview has already been cancelled thrice. I don't think I will get excited anymore if I see an interview has been scheduled cause u never know when they will cancel. Lol! Anyway! The more important question is do you have a EAD card and a job?  A Green Card is a nice to have, but in this situation not absolutely necessary.

You still have to file it thru the mail, then they will make it electronic when they get it. You will get a weird case number that starts with EOD I think, but you still have to mail it in, you can't file online.

No fee for the renewal. I believe it requires a copy of the I-45's NOA1 in lieu of payment (that's the case if filing the I-765 after the I-485, but I'm assuming it's the same for a renewal - check the I-765 instructions to confirm).

Yes. Those 2 documents are necessary for the I-9.

Edit: More specifically, the EAD is an acceptable List A document. The SSN is needed for payroll (not the I-9).

But you can have a new SS card issued to get the text removed form the card, which can then be used with a valid state ID or DL for future I-9s (instead of using the green card).
 
Yes. You can apply for a renewal up to 6 months prior to expiration. A timely filed renewal grants an automatic 180 day extension.

I assume it is (or should be) "valid for work only with DHS authorization" and it just means that on its own it's not proof that you're eligible to work, but that you must show any potential employer your work authorization (the EAD card) as well. You can file taxes with it etc.
As for getting the language removed, yes, once you get the green card you should be able to go to the SSA and get a new card issued without that text on it.

You can not get it removed from your SS card until after you receive your GC.
What it means is, that in order to work, you must have a valid Temporary EAD received at your POE (like JFK), or a valid EAD card. Then you can work.

F*@$ this F*@$ing virus. That will mean my interview on the 23rd will have to be rescheduled yet again. 4th time lucky maybe? My husband literally had to fly back to Colorado from Georgia (where he has been working) in preparation for my interview. His company had to make some huge changes to allow him to be able to come home. One of his colleagues literally put themselves at risk to fly over to Georgia and replace him, and now it’s all for nothing. I feel so terrible.
