Ms kj reacted to JFH in Divorce before 2 years
If you love him why can't you forgive him?
I am am trying to picture myself in that situation and if it was a one-off event then I could definitely forgive. Sure the whole thing would make me upset and miserable but I'd be even more upset and miserable without him.
It does seem you're giving up very easily. Marriage is hard work and whilst I'm not saying he should be allowed to behave like this but there will be many bumps in the road ahead.
Why are so so keen to stay? You've only been here a few months and all your family is in your home country. What do you have that's keeping you here? You don't even have a job. You've not really settled yet.

Ms kj reacted to Loren Y in Question on Court Marriage and AOS
Exactly, keep it simple. I'm doing a drive thru wedding. I'm not even wasting time getting out of the car. Who wants to find parking, walk to the court house and deal with that. And I can grab a double cheeseburger on the way out. Maybe a side of fries.

Ms kj reacted to Kswaf297 in Should I request for an expedite?
Unfortunately he is not able to visit. He has been denied a visitor visa and esta. He doesn't not have strong homeland ties. Becoming pregnant was the last thing we needed or wanted but even through precautionary measures it still happened. I eoudlmt change it for the world. When applying for the k1. I was told that the cr1 takes much longer and costs the same. To get married in Ireland you have to give 3 months notice and have some sort of interview. I can't afford to take that much time from work. This is our best option I believe. Thank you for your honest opinion. I haven't requested anything yet and I don't know if I will but it never hurts to ask for advice. Also I'm not worried about the AOS fee or him being here and not working. I already have the aos fee and he will be able to take care of our son instead of sending him to daycare.

Ms kj reacted to ChuAni in K-1 Visa Interview Nigeria
Awww! You are really getting overly worried. There are K-1 Applicants here that got approved with few pictures( one went with 4), didn't submit chat history, but took it along for the interview (the CO didn't even look at the history, just pictures).
I have a close friend of mine @o0o, his Fiancée attended her interview on March-6th and she was approved (she has her visa now). They didn't submit chat history along with the petition. The CO didn't look at her chat history she brought during the interview, just asked for her pictures.
I will advise you prepare up-to 10-20 pages of chat history (example, 6 screenshots of whatsapp per page).
You have some evidence already with the petition. Don't attend the interview with numerous chat evidence, instead a handful (important) one.
Don't panic! Just prepare, pray and attend the interview. Everything will work out well for your Good! Amen!
Congratulations in Advance!

Again, like I had stated in my original post, "we are our own worst enemy". You don't trust the process so you are "freaked out". The K-1 visa is one of the easiest visa's to get. The requirement is (besides what listed) to be a good citizen of both the USA (USC) and also the beneficiary's from their country, complete each step of the process and bam!! visa in hand. It's so simple but yet we make it hard on ourselves because we second guess what we're doing. Just follow the guides/instructions,, ask questions and do the right thing and you will have a non-freaked out moment. Trust the process and relax. Change your routine and you will have a better outcome.

Your fiance calling USCIS is too soon right now
They are still working through November 2017 cases right now. So you are about maybe 4-6 weeks out before you might even hear something.
You have a long ways to go so there's really nothing you can do right now.
So Sit tight. When you get your NOA2, this forum is helpful in walking you through what next to do

Here is what I can recall:
Use the case number to check the status at the NVC to find out when the case is transferred to the foreign embassy.
When the case says " READY" that is usually an indication that it is now with the local embassy. Then you should:
- Reach out to local embassy for any special instructions that you may need to know before your interview. They ususally have instructions on what to do or the next steps. These include but not limited to:
- Complete the DS 160 online
-Register online to pay for the interview and schedule your interview.
-Complete medical exam
-gather documents need for interview
Good Luck!

Ms kj reacted to Mzlin35 in K1 visa- Nigerian fiance
Thank you so much! I have been so stressed about how to handle this. I too am a single parent, who cannot afford to make too many trips over there. So the sooner I can get him here with me the better.
You put an immediate smile on my face. You give me hope. 😊

Fellow Nigerian,
You don't need an updated Police Character Certificate because for immigration purpose, the PCC is valid for one calender year. Just take the original copy with other supporting docs along with you to the embassy for your interview.

Ms kj reacted to CaliforniaLovin in K1 Visa UK Divorce decree
Thanks! I called Bury St Edmonds Family Court yesterday and they told me to complete the D180 form, send the decree over and a judge will then sign/stamp it. I'm pre-empting an RFE here, and think it's just good practice to have it officially stamped. Hopefully it won't take too long and will come back before any potential RFE. Cc @JMCKNG, @Ms kj

It just means they received your case. You should get noa1 in mail soon.
Now brace yourself for month of waiting for noa2.

Ms kj reacted to JMCKNG in K1 Visa UK Divorce decree
Yes this happened to me. I am the US Citizen and I received an RFE due to the Absolute Divorce Decree not having the judge's signature. I sent in the exact document I received right after the court hearing but due to my county that I live in currently following a process that they "electronically file" court documents instead of wet signature them they didn't like that. I called the court asked them what they could do, they ended up printing up a reference to the Wisconsin Supreme Court statue showing they only electronically file since July 2016 as well gave me the "stamped" fancy certified version.
My RFE was approved 3 weeks after received

Ms kj reacted to OfficiallyMrsU in Medical Exam in Nigeria
Hi all,
For Lagos, you don't call to schedule an interview at the embassy or for the medical. For the medical you can just "walk in" to either of the clinics. The documents my fiance took with him to the medical exam were the initial letter (email) from packet 3 (what the embassy will email you to notify you once they have your packet from NVC-- it is an email "inviting you" to apply/interview for the visa with all instructions). He also took with him his interview confirmation letter-- the confirmation page you will print once you've completed the DS-160 and booked the interview.
At the medial exam, they will need to see these documents because they will also document what type of visa the beneficiary is interviewing for.
In our case, the emails from the embassy were sent to the petitioner. However, we didn't wait for Lagos to email us. Once we saw that our case was showing "ready" on the NVC case tracker website, we immediately emailed Lagos first and then they replied. You can wait to hear from them if you want-- we were just proactive. Hope this helps.
