amforever got a reaction from Wuozopo in Medical being sent to Embassy K1
My fiance called medical today to make sure it was sent to the Embassy. (Medical was on the 10th, Interview is on the 24th) They said they were waiting for his documents to come through. He said there wasn't anything he was told to send. So apparently when they took his blood pressure it was a little high and the doctor noted "high but likely due to anxiety" The doctor specifically told him he didn't need to have it rechecked. The woman on the phone re-read the note and talked to the doctor and sure enough, she said that he doesn't need to send anything to them regarding his "anxiety" which he doesn't even have. He doesn't like getting his blood drawn and was nervous. But now they said they are mailing it (and were basically holding it for no reason). Phew, glad he called and made sure because that could have been a huge headache. Just thought I'd let you guys know in case something similar happens.

amforever reacted to Wuozopo in Timeframe from Interview to VIH?
If his medical is in his file with the interviewer, then he can reasonably hope for 1 week Jan 31, or maybe Feb 1 as the earliest. That is not a guarantee because things happen. If the medical is not in the hands of the interviewer, then it will be longer. If he (or his family) has Muslim ties, was not born in the UK, has lived in or visited terrorist countries, then the extra security checks will take longer.
Update this thread to say if the medical was in his file, then again when the visa arrives. So many of these threads never continue to tell the rest of the story.
Everybody's status will say AP at some point, like Amanda's. Not all that say AP get stuck there processing for weeks.

amforever reacted to Reggie B in Transferring Money to US Fiance before Moving
When I moved over, my fiance opened a new account in her name and all my savings went in there until I could open my own account.
There was no tax issues or awkward questions about this at my GC interview.
I would also recommend transferwise for sending over money, it’s what I used.

I don't see any issues......it isn't income to you. It's a transfer of his assets.

This is not a gift.
He is transferring the money to himself. You are simply the trustee of the money. That's why he's sending it to you; to hold for him. Once you create a joint account, then he's could be considered to have made a gift to you. Not a problem for a married couple.

It's wise of you to be concern about this and do your homework. Fortunately, it's not a problem at all.

From the US government's point of view, they like nonresidents bringing money into the US to help our economy. No taxes. No reporting to anyone. The only issue is money laundering from illegal activities.

Case Number.......12/11
My fiance is going to fill out the ds 160 today. It asks for a picture to upload from what I've read. We still have a photo from when we filed our I-134F but it way from May. I don't suppose we could use that picture? Otherwise, he will go get his required passport style photos today and just use one of those.

To clarify: he bought four of both, just in case. I think there's a few other places that do it. While some people do it at home, we took no chances. Good luck!

Your going to need current photos. Those are photos that have been taken in the last 6 months. BTW where did you file your I-134f as there isn't such a document. I think you meant I-129f. No problem.

4x UK or US style passport photos for Medical
2x US style passport photos for interview.
I actually used an online passport photo generator to get my photos.
This was the generator: https://online-passport-photo.com/
Took a good photo at home with no shadows etc.. Uploaded them to the generator that formats them onto a 5x4 photo.
Put the file on a memory stick and took it into asda. Printed the photo off for 15p each. Happy days.
If you're not into tech stuff don't bother but just a suggestion.

I'd do a new photo. I was gonna upload an old one for my fiance til someone brought up that they may cross reference it with old photos. Good point they made. Also, the ds160 can be filled out first and then you can upload a pic at the end when it asks again as well. That's what I did for my girl. Filled it out with her and then added a photo like a week later.
