I'm gonna out myself and admit I was born after 1991. I'm super young. I'm very much a 90 Day Fiance wannabe in the style of Nicole (of Nicole and Azan fame). Asking all the relatives and friends to sign an I-864 for us while we jaunt around Korea super unemployed trying to be instagram famous... SHARP ENTERTAINMENT CALL US! I'm totally willing to complain about the midwest and tell my husband we need to move to New York or LA so I can experience real America and pursue my dream of becoming a model and actress! :jest:

let us know how that works out for ya LOLOL

My husband and I first met in 1991, probably long before most of you people were born!

Look, I'll have you know I was 13 years old in 1991 🤣

All of these couples, oh my lord. But I say that with every season and every painful version of 90DF. Never in my life have I seen such a collection of desperate and delusional (sometimes BOTH) people. Or people just wanting a greencard or thinking all americans are rich.

And if Kenny cries ONE MORE TIME i swear im going to throw something at my TV.

    Hi all,

This is just a summary of the events that led me to file a lawsuit with al lawyer called "Writ of Mandamus" to move my case forward.

Removal of conditions filed in July 2019.

    October 2019 Fingerprints taken

No movement for 2 years. In the meantime all my fellow July 2019 filers had been approved.

In March 2021 my case was very much outside processing times, so I started contacting the DHS Ombudsman, my local representative and my 2 US Senators. Not one of them ever replied, nor contacted me in any way. With USCS I filed about 8 or 9 Service Requests. Not a single one was ever adressed. They were closed without any explaination.

After 30 months waiting, I decided to file a lawsuit in October of this year, within 3 weeks my Removal of Conditions was approved and my N400 interview was scheduled and last week I became a Citizen.

This should not be normal. Blaming COVID for these ridiculous delays is an easy excuse.

I have a strong case, both me and my wife have good jobs, I am not from a "conflictive" country (whatever that means) of course no criminal records and I pay a lot in taxes to Uncle Sam.

This process has been a complete nightmare to me and my family and I hope I never have to step inside a USCIS office ever again.

I wish you all the best of luck,

have you applied for citizenship? that often gets things moving along.

    just a thought.

  4. it will depend on the state and depending on your location, your particular DMV may not be overly familiar with their own rules. Find people on here who are in your state, and who are familiar with the process. Many states have reciprocals with canada, which make it a bit easier. it can be different than many other countries. We are in virginia and my husband was able to get his DL with his NOA1 from his CR1 (which is different from a k1, so for you, i imagine it would be even easier)

NOA1 in the mail that also allows an extension while they process your ROC.  The extension used to be 18 months but I read recently that it is now 24 months.

    it is 24 months.

you will receive a letter for biometrics, either with an appointment date or informing you they will use your previously taken biometrics. that will come a couple of months after your NOA.

after that, its just a long waiting game.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I was checking regularly, but the problem seemed to have stopped. I just restored it to the December 4, 4:29 AM. It's the most recent one that seems to have all the info intact. The problem is that anything added after that will be gone. VisaJourney has its own spreadsheet with all this info, but it's a little harder to navigate. I'm wondering if we should just rely on that?

    https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/liftlist.php?cfl=0&op1=1&op2=a&op4=1339&op5=5,9,10,11,12&op6=All

Do we still have the google doc? I got hubbys fingerprint notification today (or lack thereof since they are reusing his) and recently got a new computer and dont have all my bookmarks over on this one.

  7. I literally just got up and its 2 am so my brain is fuzzy so your question is not making sense to me.

what do you mean your OLD fiance? why would it matter? or do you mean your CURRENT SPOUSE since you are posting in the removal of conditions forum? I am so confused, but 2 am. just got up. need coffee.

if you mean your spouse. YOU can not. but it doesnt really matter. their greencard is all they need to prove work authorization along with ss #.my husband never replaced his social security card and never has an issue.due to the nature of his work (union sheetmetal worker) changes employers somewhat frequently.

you can request a reprint of a social security card from social security if it annoys you.

Thanks, looks amazing! And for 5k it an absolute steal.

I bet a job like that where we live would be at least 20k.

That was materials only. Hubby did all the work. If we had paid a contractor, in our area.... probably $10-12K (we are in a very rural area)

There are things we could have done nicer or better, but we were both just over all of it, especially with all the 'unexpecteds' like the electrical and insulation and plumbing.... LMAO

In my opinion, immigration law is very difficult. If you have no problems and have a straightforward case, you can probably get away with DIY forms and applications.

Once a mistake is made, or a level of complication is added, then, consulting with an attorney at the onset  may save you thousands of dollars afterwards.  We don't  know what we don't know.  A qualified attorney may have seen many similar cases and knows what works, and what doesn't, and they have been trained to use legalese in their letters.

I have seen more attorneys make GIANT mistakes than I have individuals, but hey, if you have money to blow.

An attorney can't do anything in this situation than OP can, which is basically say ' hey, sorry, I was not paying attention, please forgive me, here is everything'

  10. I just dont know that 'covid' can be used as an excuse at this point unless you HAD covid and were hospitalized and that is why you were unable to file. Which would certainly be a valid excuse and be something that could be proved.

At this point, life has pretty much resumed what is a new form of normal for most of us, most of us are working and conducting business as normal, if a little bit different than we were 2 years ago. We, and many many many others managed to file for ROC on time. I've had it on my calendar for 2 years. I'm sure others did it the same. or some other system, or whatever worked for them.

Be honest and beg them to take mercy on you for not paying close attention to the expiration date. 10 weeks is a lot different than 10 days.

    Good luck.

  11. anything financial or legal showing both names and usage or ownership/responsibility.

    bank accounts

    credit accounts

    taxes

    loans

    insurances

    ownership of property

legal docs (wills, power of attorney, etc)

    travel/vacations/events

if you make copies monthly and keep organized as you go along, sending it off when its time will be easy. more or less, thats what I did.

If they did that, in my opinion it would be a discriminatory practice because some of us can’t have kids…. 🤷🏽‍♀️

its not a REQUIREMENT good lord.

plenty of people cant have kids. or dont WANT to have kids (like me) or older and a combination of the two  (hubby and i would also fall into THAT category)

no one is telling anyone what to do with their reproductive organs. it is however, solid evidence- just as MANY OTHER THINGS ARE.

also for the pictures, did anyone print out actual pictures and tape them to paper or just print from a printer?

am also debating whether to send things like hotel bills and concert tickets etc since they dont seem as strong as what we have currently.

i chose however many it was (dont remember now, maybe a half dozen or so? copied onto a word doc and printed from printer. handwrote captions on them with approximate date and who was in it.

I did include hotel and event tickets for what we had, particularly if I had photos to help back it up (some i did, some i didnt). obviously we (and many of us) will not have too much of this as with covid, travel and 'events' and being with family/friends were few and far between, but i expect USCIS will expect this. and if not, i dont know where the heck they have been the past 2 years.....

Having kids is evidence of being sexually active with someone, not evidence of a marriage (good faith or otherwise).

Well, yes but it is also VERY good evidence as at least in theory you wont have kids with someone you arent in a committed relationship with.

NOT sending in birth certificates for children you had together would be a horrible no good very bad idea.

Now, will it do anything to help a K1 or CR1 application? no. But we are all WELL past that point, so thats a moot subject.

    Hello,

could someone please help clarify... thank you in advance.

My wife (Greencard conditional) expires 12/30/21, came on K1 in 2019 March, got married to me (US Citizen)

    1. so, on the I-751 application, the petitioner is my wife? and the spouse information is about me (US Citizen)?

    2. we like to file by end of next week, end of October, which leaves about 60days before her conditional greencard expires. so are still good with the "within 90day period"?

    thank you

    Srinath

    Correct.

Very  very little has to do with the US Citizen on this petition, other than thespousal information section and then of course on the evidence provided (both of your names should appear on the evidence you provide)
