AnonIndia reacted to amul in Lack of Parental Support for CR1 & K1 in Indian Consulates
From personal experience - my hubby (or his parents) has not received a call from the New Delhi Embassy let alone anyone regarding our marriage. He did have someone come to his house after he applied for his PCC.
His parents disapproval (nor 5 other huge red flags we had) did not hinder our CR-1. We stuck to the truth all the way throughout the process (from application to the interview). Take your time and take a deep breath... ☺️
Please do not freak out by what you read here. Everyone has a slightly different case or story and yours might not be the same.
Just replied to your pm, let me know if you have any other questions.

23 and 25 are not too young to get legally married in any country in the world. Apart from legal restrictions, each pair is different. One couple might be ready at 21, another not ready at 35. Only the couple can decide.

Immigration could hardly be "more paused" than what it currently is for most of us here.

AnonIndia got a reaction from B_J in Final public charge rule
Simple basic English for asking to get around and buying things at the store is not sufficient for being gainfully employed. Were you making 250% above poverty level when you married your wife? If you weren't your wife should have been denied LPR based on her being from a third world country, poor english fluency and not having proper job opportunities. Not only baby boomers marry Asian wives. There is a certain stereotype to the type of western men who do. Right wing/Libertarian types who are dissatisfied with what feminism has done for their women back at home and shop abroad. Got Coach RedPill, Milo Yiannopoulis, Mike Cernovich, Stefan Molyneux videos on their sub feed on YouTube.

AnonIndia reacted to AshMarty in Supreme Court allows Trump administration to move forward with 'public charge' rule (merged)
I am curious because I feel like this could get confusing.
My husband is a GC holder, I am a US citizen. We both do very well for ourselves with our careers and don’t qualify for any financial need benefits.
However. This past year we had our son. He was born over 3 months premature. He spent 3 months in then NICU. My son qualified for Medicaid based off of birth weight (2 pound 9 Oz) so he has it as a secondary insurance (it’s secondary because I have good insurance through my work).
He qualifies for a year based on medical qualifications (again not financial qualifications). My husband and I do not have Medicaid just our son. Although my son only will receive this benefit for a year many other diagnoses for children are greater than a year and not financially need based. Will this count against their parents? That would seem incredibly terrible to deny a child of resources because one of their parents is a GC holder.
Just curious?

Well, I've already stated how I feel about it in the other thread I think. I only wanted to point out that they are not ruling here based on the merits of the case, or even if they think it is Constitutional, only that they can enact the practice while the case is being argued.

This is just while the case is being still argued in court. It's not a perma measure as of yet.

Hi AnonIndia, In this same Thread, KKodi mentioned that he got the similar message when they submitted their DS260. I'm not sure if they sent the docs to NVC(I doubt you have to do it), But as Kuneesa pointed out please drop an email to ustraveldocs mail id with all your details and they should be able to help you.

AnonIndia reacted to Just Paul in CR-1 Interview Experience DCF Mumbai India
The instructions for DCF are the same instructions for a stateside petition. Anything you would file (upload) at the NVC gets taken to the consulate unless they specifically, and personally, say otherwise. Some consulates want documents delivered ahead of time.

AnonIndia reacted to Kuneesa in CR-1 Interview Experience DCF Mumbai India
In our case, we had to take all the documents to the embassy personally. No uploading on the NVC website or sending it anywhere. I'd suggest you do as your instructions tell you to do. You can always call or email the Bombay embassy. They will be able to help you much better!

Hey,
I believe it is one year but you're better off posting it as a separate question and asking someone really knowledgeable on this. Hope things work out for you.

We need to have more mixed race babies to shift the voting demographic towards a more humane open minded one.

yeah I'm hoping with time there is clarification about whether plans like this are acceptable for proof of medical insurance. The actual wording in the executive action does mention plans that cover 364 days which some of these do. These are pretty reasonable for the purpose they serve.

Thanks. I'll try in November. 😀
I think that's when open enrollment is for us.
Health Insurance is not a big thing in Pakistan.

Changes in household:
Getting married or divorced Having a baby or adopting a child Death in the family
I got married in January 2019. Still waiting for the i130 Nebraska nightmare to be over. Who know when she'll be here. Early next year, late next, 2021. God bless the current administration. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Her coming here would not be categorized as change in household.

AnonIndia reacted to Mr and Mrs S in New Healthcare Requirements for US Immigrants
It probably won't be that bad if I can add by wife to my employer sponsored plan (no SS) come open enrollment period. However, I'd be in a pickle if they don't allow me to add her without a SS number.
Immigration is not a qualifying life event for adding someone to your insurance https://www.healthcare.gov/glossary/qualifying-life-event/
I think they ought to fix that before making such changes. However, the government isn't known for making logical decisions.

Lol. You and Trump care that much about Mexican immigrants?

I know, right? Same thing I thought when I read those words from the White House statement.

AnonIndia reacted to afrocraft in New Healthcare Requirements for US Immigrants
Really? It's about immigration restriction under the guise of "healthcare" and "self-sufficiency."
Nice try, though.
-
AnonIndia reacted to afrocraft in New Healthcare Requirements for US Immigrants
It's not. It's a laudable goal. But that's not the policy here. The policy is to bar immigrants from entry who cannot show ability to pay for health care like the rest of us do.

Look, we've seen this movie before. America prides itself as a nation of immigrants, but when the demographics of the immigrant change, sentiment towards immigration changes too. The waves of immigration of southern Europeans/Irish and of Asians in the last century and some saw similar backlash from the majority, and restrictive policies followed. Now it's mainly brown people from the South. This too, shall pass.

AnonIndia reacted to Mrs Ryan Carreras in New Healthcare Requirements for US Immigrants
How is having the immigrant get healthcare mean ?
Maybe I am lost in the political debate.
I am not sure what I am not understanding here.
I have healthcare as a US Citizen and have spent thousands to cover myself and children.
So being “nice” would be letting my soon to be husband go without and risk him and myself (god forbid) a half million dollars in medical costs?
That is what I would find mean and letting him fend for himself.
Ryan just now has his visa and I’d be darned that I’d start our life with “what ifs” and a big fat bill because I didn’t add him.
Healthcare is a mess here. I’d not advise not covering someone coming here.
What am I missing here ?
Im not rich but theres no way he’s not getting healthcare. I’ve seen to much heartache over people not being covered.
Just a bit lost by the comment.

The point of the American experiment isn't that we're perfect: It's that we're constantly moving towards a more perfect Union. That the arc bends towards justice. That long-run trend will continue, despite short-term hiccups like the last 3 years. The sonnet holds.
