  1. So, I just got a job 2 hours away from my permanent residence (same state, different uscis local office jurisdiction.)

I can't drive so I rented a room just so I can sleep there 3-4 days a week (temporary 5 month lease). And then spend my day offs at home (with my husband and our dog).

Its a salaried position so i can switch dayoffs / work long hours / work from home to accommodate this.

Should i file AR-11 and change my address given that i maintain both the old and new address?

    Congrats!

Kinda confused... can you apply for a job even if you don't have your papers yet?

Sure but your employer will have to wait until your EAD and SSN are approved before you can work.

I was bored and anxious so I started contacting people in my industry. I was just honest in telling them about my immigration status and the expected timeline of my EAD. Most companies have month long hiring process (3+ interviews & exams) so I figured the perfect time to start was two months ahead.

Do both - celebrate & update your timeline!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most get old app and new doesn't always update. Some get it the other way round with new and no old. It just varies!! Either way - your approved!!!!!

My original copy that I received from my Panel Physician overseas was an ugly photocopy of the original he submitted in my sealed medical envelope anyways so I dont see how they could determine mine is an original or a photocopy. It's not like its signed with wet ink or has any type of seal. Print the scanned copy and bring that to your interview just in cases. They wont know the diff.

Thanks for this. Best of luck to all of us November filers! Hope all is smooth and fast.

  5. I was in the same situation too. It took them 39 days to issue me a SSN and the guy said it may take another 2 weeks for the card to arrive (still currently waiting for it).

It is worth noting that I called the SSA office (waited for 2 hours on the line) on day 37 they told me that they hadn't issued/processed my SSN. Three days later, at the local SSA office I was told my SSN was issued the day before. It's kinda odd that my SSN was issued the day after I called, right? Can't say for sure, but yeah.

No problem, Sis. I'm right at your service.

    Anything you want.

Now, let's start counting days for USCIS to send your case to NVC. Give it 14 days to call NVC for the case #.

My case took 20 days to get to NVC. I got the case # the same day (after 3 hrs) they received it.

After 3 days, it left NVC and after 2 dats, it was Ready (EMBASSY received it).

So, it took my case 6 days (4 Business Days) from NVC Received (At NVC) to Ready (At Embassy).

    Now, you can do the following as you wait for NVC #;

    1) Download and start filling Affidavit of Support Form (I-134) and try to get the Supportimg Documents for it.

    https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-134.pdf?download=1

    https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-134instr.pdf?download=1

    2) You can start filling the DS-160 Online Form, save it but don't sign &  submit it yet.

    https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

    3) Start compiling Evidence of Relationship.

*Make Screenshots from the App (e.g., Whatsapp). Have 3-4 screenshots from each month and arrange them 6 screenshots per page of MS Word. Gather Screenshots of Chat, Call, Facetime showing your phone numbers (you and your Fiancé).

    * Pictures, from 6-30 of you two together, including family. DON'T INCLUDE PICTURES OF TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE!!

    *Boarding Passes (If you wish)

    4) Your Fiancé should get ready with his Passport, Birth Certificate.

Got my NOA 2. Now lets get to work :)
