That’s crazy! For us for 8 months we had no email updates even though we asked for them and the website and app never updated once.

We got an RFE with no update pre or post. Only when we called after returning the RFE to ask if they had it by the deadline did the app suddenly update to RFE received  or something similar and even now it still says that even though we got NOA2.

I called NVC the other day and she was THE rudest person and was like ‘what updates were you expecting?’ And I was like, well for the money we’ve paid ANY freaking updates would be good. After 6 calls, I managed to confirm NVC had booked in the paperwork that day and thats when they said it takes 6-8 weeks for them to process and send to the embassy. They had an expedite email address if I had a reason to expedite such as medical but realistically I have no valid reason to expedite other than its taken AGES and I want to plan the wedding and help guests out to plan their travels.

Sounds like you are in your way now with the process so that’s great! All the calls and inquiries I have made so far have been useless. I submitted an inquiry to the Ombudsman in February and as of Friday they still haven’t assigned it to anyone. Just hoping we hear something by the one year mark!

    Hi Everyone

I havent been on since this thread was in like part III as I was I think one of the last to get NOA2 after filing July 3rd. I joined June to gauge when we might get it but got really fed up after an RFE set us back what felt like forever.

So we got NOA2 eventually and my hopes to move at Easter came and went. I am now awaiting NVC to send the case number correspondence. I have tried calling but encountered some of the worst kind of people on the ‘help’ lines. I thought I’d come back here to see how any other UK folk have found the provessing once it hits NVC as they have quoted me 6-8 weeks eaven though I-797 said a month and that was dated 24th April.

Is really want to move at the end of July, from those who have just been through this do you think this is achievable?

I have already done my police check and had the injections I could get done ready for the medical.

    Thanks in advance

p.s what has happened to John & Rose, the threads are so long I cant see!?

I’m still here and waiting 😩 Hoping to hear something before the one year mark

@John & Rose can probably fill you in best about what happened!

    UPDATE:

Finally we already received our rfe letter. It's i think is easy to fix and provide.

It is a police report with complete details and should have seal by the county State where the case happened. Fiance got this misdemeanor way back 2001 but wasn't convicted but got arrested and the case was already closed

Fiance is just frustrated with the rapidvisa service. They should know what we need to provide before we sent out that packet 11months ago.

We did provided police report from the county hall that the case was already closed and he is cleared.

But, we are just very thankful that we already got this rfe and start to move forward!

    Great news!

Atti didn’t get the visa, He was missing 3 documents the consul said. Police certificate needed to be a particular one specifically for immigrants , which I had told him to get cause I had read that on VJ forum and he still got the the wrong one. Same thing for military record.  We also need to apply for a I-601 and an I-212 each $930. (I just checked processing times for those forms on uscis and it says 13-18 months) even though consul told Atti it would take like 3 months. 🤷‍♀️

    I’m just depleted right now!

Oh no, I’m so sorry! What does he need the extra paperwork for?

It did... thank you for sharing that. I feel like I already knew this deep down and I just needed someone to say it to me. I've accepted a while ago to stop thinking that it might happen today or tomorrow... and just let it happe . I am almost at the 7 months marker..now I dont know if I should file an inquiry or not..

I think filing inquiries and other things helps us to feel like we’re trying to at least get some info...perhaps it is a waste but I feel like I have to do something at this point since I am nearly at the one year mark

I feel like what you told me might be the reason for delay might actually be that reason. Ive noticed people who are waiting longer from certain countries like algeria, armenia, etc without as much as an rfe. Or if they ve traveled a lot and traveled to certain countries which are considered "high terrorism countries" are taking a lot longer...

I know it's case by case but i am just tryibg to understand the pattern here for delayed responses..

We think one reason might be travel in the Middle East years ago for work but we are only guessing at this point.

Like i said yesterday i admire botg you and your fiance's will and patience. However, it's just so unfair so unfair that they keep giving you a bullshit answer and dragged it out for this long. It's not like you are getting this done for free.. we pay for this service so we should at least expect some sort of transparency

I agree...total BS 🙄 if they’re going to deny or send an RFE, I feel like they’ve had plenty of time to figure that out. They are keeping our lives on hold and it’s ridiculous

I am right there with you... it's  difficult because we can't do anything. I am so stressed out that i have a constant migrane...

My poor fiance was ao stressed out this morning when i spoke to him.

I’ve been at this waiting thing for awhile now (321 days) and as hard as it is, I try not to focus on it too much because otherwise I’m going to make myself crazy. It has been really hard on us so I get it...but I remind myself that a lot of this is out of my hands. I’m trying to stay positive and keep making inquiries and contacting my congresswoman...etc. I’ve also contacted the Ombudsman and was told it would take 45 days for a response...it’s now 60 and when I called them they said they’d send it to a supervisor...there has to be a light at the end of this tunnel soon

We are still waiting too! Waiting for the rfe letter from USCIS and it's been more than two weeks since they told my fiance about we were getting an rfe letter. Wondering what's the rfe we need to provide.

Don't worry we are right here with you! Hope you will also get an update, of course an approval on your case very very soon!

Ugh! I would’ve thought the letter would be there by now, so frustrating! Keep us posted on what the RFE is about. Fingers crossed for us to both hear something very soon!

Quick check in to say that today was my fiancée's interview at the Auckland embassy. She said it was quick once they actually let her in, she showed up early and they turned her away the first time. Also, make sure you have your interview letter, she said that they were turning people away in front of her that didn't have it. She said that when she actually got to talk to the CO, he only asked a few basic questions, what I do, how we met, how I proposed (she said she gushed about how cute it was, I'm dying from mortal embarrassment cause I was jetlagged and I dropped the ring and gave up and was just like 'uhhhh....so.....wanna get married? I mean, if you want? it's cool if not! No pressure or anything!'), things like that, then asked if she minded answering about if it bugged her that I was married before, and to a man. She explained that no, it didn't, that she and I both knew we were bi before we ever started dating, and that was it. She said she was told by the CO that she was 'approved but that's not an official answer as per rules' and she'll receive her stuff in 1-2 weeks, and that'll be when she knows for sure, and that her medical expires in October, so she'll have to be over before then. I'm nervous, from what I've read a lot of people are given an approval at the time of interview, but I don't remember really seeing any 'yes, but it's not an official answer' stories. ::quietly panics in the corner::

I wouldn’t worry...might just be in administrative processing but I’m sure you’ll have the visa soon

    Hey guys,

it is so cool to see all those wedding pictures, it melts my heart! Good luck to all of you  But I know there are still some people from June waiting for their NOA2, do we know the number (I think I didn't see any scan in a while but I might have missed it)? I wish they could clear out the cases that are almost a year old (oh man!) before moving on to another month

Think it’s just two of us left...the other case has an RFE pending

  12. 8 minutes ago, Sarac9 said:

    Seriously?!

Do you travel a lot? Or have you lived in other countries?

I know another individual who is also pending 300 plus without any RFE..and he said it's because he has lived jn various countries and conducting background checks etc @Faisal1 is that correct?

My fiancé did travel in the Middle East for work years ago so we are certainly thinking that is a possibility...

  13. Day 320...it’s like being on Gilligans Island but not as much fun 😕 Decided to submit an inquiry for the heck of it since it’s been awhile and I’ve got nothing left to lose at this point. Our cases is # 101 on Igor’s list now...I remember when it was 1000 something on the list right@John & Rose ? 😊

Congratulations @Lotts on your Star War wedding! You guys look happy! 🎉🍾

So, myself, Mr H, and his sister all turned up to the courthouse wearing Star Wars t-shirts.

They guy at the window said he'd give us the forms but we wouldn't be able to do anything for 48 hours. :( He asked if we wanted to see if we could fast track it but these things only happened for those in the military or were very sick. We took our chance. 10 mins later, we get called saying the judge was between court hearings and signed our wait waver. Woohoo.

We got married at 2pm. The registrar was impressed with our Star Wars clothing. Everyone in the building we encountered said, "May the force be with you". It's been super fun. No fills, no flowers, no fancy pants stuff... Just a couple of nerds getting hitched.

Just come back from having lunch with his sister and he's now asleep. It's been a nice day so far. Going to go out later to get crab pretzels and frozen custard.

Ahhhhh... Now back to dealing with USCIS 😂

    Ahhhh, cr@p! 😂

    Congratulations! 🎉

  15. Think I’m the last one standing for June without a NOA2...sigh. Not trying to throw myself a pity party but we are seriously thinking about what our plan B will be if this K1 does not pan out. We are afraid that after all this waiting we are just going to be denied...and can’t help but feel that way at this point. I have explored every avenue to get answers and still a whole lot of nothing. I am trying to decide how long we should wait before we throw in the towel on the K1. When I read about horror stories of waiting a year or two I cringe. Possible plan B options are spousal visa or me moving there. Any thoughts? Would any of you have considered giving up on the K1 if it was taking over a year just for NOA2? Thanks guys...and congrats to everyone!! :jest:
