  1. Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well! Sadly it’s day 384 for us and we have decided to file a lawsuit in order to get an answer...one idea about the delay is because my fiancé had a green card in the past and this confuses immigration...so the lawyer suspects our file is just sitting on a shelf. Although I didn’t really want to have to go this route, it appears to be the only option in order to get an answer...and then we can move on with plan B if need be. Good luck everyone! 😊

Hi Junie's! I'm checking in because I wanted to thank you all for the information and support.

Alex had his interview yesterday and we're approved pending medical (He had his medical on the 20th!).  We're anxiously waiting for his visa to book his ticket to me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Thinking and hoping for you KBA. UCSIC really is the most ridiculous place ever.

John and Rose you look amazing and so happy! I'm thrilled for you.

Everyone else -- the pictures and happiness are incredible. I'm just so full of love and joy right now for me and Alex AND you all.

Thank you 😊 Just got back from a visit and can’t believe we’re still waiting!! No updates at all...just the same thing about security checks still pending and my congresswoman’s office gets the same. Being in limbo this long is crazy and I hope to have answers by the end of the summer

Congrats everyone. I dont come on here much but it's nice to see everyone is getting their happy ending. My fiance and i are still waiting for his interview to be scheduled. This wait is agonizing. It's been over a year since our noa1. I really wish we would at least know when he can have his interview. It's horrible waiting so long.

What seems to be delaying the interview?

It looks like acceptance of Canadian Cr1s doesn't take that much longer than the K1s. See the link below:

Either way he qualifies for Express entry into Canada, and that process is under 6 months, so either way we'll be together. Our wedding is on August 4th and at this pace I just can't see the NVC processing the case, sending it to California USCIS, them fixing the error, sending it back to the Consulate via NVC and then the consulate inviting me back for another interview... all in six weeks.

I’m sorry to hear about your situation! This process has been unbelievable and I cannot believe they didn’t send you an RFE for this while the case was still at USCIS! My fiancé and I have been waiting a year for NOA2 (telling us security checks are still pending) and we have talked about whether switching to a spousal visa is worth it...but will start the clock over again 😩 especially when th the security checks. Good luck and I hope things work out!

We already marked 1year and 5days from filing up to this date.

And got received an email from UsCIS that there is still no update since they received our response for the RFE

I salute you @KBA for being so optimistic in this entire process.

Sad truth, we have nothing to do but wait and have faith that sooner or later we will get throug this.

Ugh, how long has it been since they received the RFE? I received that same email with the “no update” message. Hoping we both hear something soon!

    Hi Junies,

One more straggler crossing the finish line of the K1 visa process.

After making POE here in Ohio on March 26th,  my fiance and I finally tied the knot yesterday, June 14th...with less than ten days left on the K1 Visa :P  Phew!

And I finally received my SSN on May 30th, more than two months after applying for it on March 27th. No idea why it took so long.

You guys on this site kept me going through some really dark times and I'm very grateful for that. To anyone still waiting, hold on and keep holding on because sometimes, it really is darkest before the dawn.

    @KBA

My heart goes out to you, dear!  Kudos for keeping a positive outlook, you've been an inspiration to me, more than you know.  My thoughts and prayers will be with you until your Visa Journey comes to a happy end as well.  (L)

Now, presenting Mr. and Mrs. D and T :P

Congratulations on your wedding! 🎉 Thank you for the kind words...I have some dark days too and sometimes feel completely helpless in this process...but eventually it will have to come to an end one way or another...right?!? 😊

I dont know wether to laugh or cry. I love your optimism and your good spirits. You are an example to many.

Thank you! Depends on the day whether I laugh or cry...my fiancé thinks they will just continue to delay us with the excuse of security checks instead of just giving an RFE or refusal. I don’t even know what to think anymore...and I don’t know that eventually switching to a spousal visa will make a bit of difference. So frustrating!
