Still no NOA2 but.... I received a letter yesterday (dated 10/31/19) from USCIS (local office) letting me know that I (Petitioner) have an appointment at the Immigration Service Office in 2 weeks. This interview may be video taped and to expect to being at the interview for approximately 2 HOURS which makes me very nervous. I hope all goes well. Does any of you have an idea what kind of questions I'll be asked? or even why I am being interviewed?
Hi there. I can’t believe you are still going through this. From what I’ve seen with previous cases when the petitioner attends interview at local office for spouse petition, they ask questions regarding your marriage and proving its bonafide. Unless there are previous criminal records and they want to clear that up.

Thank u again. I really appreciate you responses. I’ve been away from my daughter since she’s 2 yrs old and now she’s already 8 yrs old that’s why I really want to be with her. Please help me with this again, it’s really confusing and I don’t want to make mistake. So, I sponsor 2 family member my first born daughter and my mom. I made 2 separate i864 for them. Since my income is not enough to cover both of them I use only 1 joint sponsor which is my uncle to sponsor my mom because my income can only cover my 1st born daughter. And then as I mention I have another daughter that was born in US I should include her also in the household size even I did not claimed her on my last tax. So My household will be me, my daughter here in US and my 1st born daughter that I’m sponsoring, total of 3 household. But my income can only cover 2 household, my question is, can I use my uncle again as a sponsor to my 1st born daughter even if I use him for my mom i864? His income is enough to cover both of them though. I hope u can understand my situation, I’m confused already. Pls check the picture I attached. Thank u.
Your welcome. When I answered your first question I thought your us citizen daughter lived with you. Since she doesn’t, no you do not include her as part of your household. And yes. Your uncle can joint sponsor both your 1st born and mother. Your joint household sponsor should include his household plus who he is sponsoring on “each form” 5 each on total. Your 864 is correct.

Thank u for that info. I have another question regarding the i864 form. I have 1 daughter that was born in US should I include her on the household size even though I did not carry her on my last tax return. Her dad Was the one who claimed her for the last 2 years. Thank u in advance. 🤗
Regardless of her father claiming her on his taxes, if she lives with you, then she is part of the household. So yes, she is included. I had to count my 18 year old daughter in my household as well. She’s a full time student but lives with me.

Can I verify something? Do I have to chose an agent first before paying the fees? That’s the first step on travel state website. When I log in on ceac it won’t let me click the chose an agent tab. Thanks
I didn’t have to chose an agent. You no longer have to chose one. At least it never gave me that option and I’ve seen a few people say the same thing.

Congrats to you!!!
I think you will find that it was just your date that they were checking documents. Calling them to check has nothing to do with getting approved. I only say this so that others do not think that this is some sort of shortcut and wait on hold wasting time and money.
On Monday they released that they were checking documents submitted on September 12th, so it makes sense that you would have heard about now.
I wish there were "secret shortcuts" but it is best not to push theory that has no basis. As desperate people on here (that is pretty much most of us) start believing things.
Again huge congrats and GL with the interview process! You are so close to being done
Thank you and I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make anyone believe my desperate thoughts on getting DQ. And your probably right, it was based on my date. As you know, when you’ve been going through this for so many years, you become a bit delusional at some point out of desperation...I just wanted to thank the person who had mentioned that since this was my first time calling NVC for an update. At this point in my life, The only thing keeping me sane is having some type of “it’s meant to be” thought process. Again, thank you and I hope everyone here has some hope and faith and knows it will happen soon. ☺️

Good luck to everyone, it will come.

Police certificate? Like a thing saying you don't have a record?
Yes, if you go to travel.state.gov find your country embassy and it will tell you how to obtain a police certificate.

How long, after we submit all documents required for the applicant and the petitionner to NVC, it takes to get an interview date ?
Thanks!
We’ve been waiting for 6 weeks now since submitting documents...so everyone’s different. No one can figure out how they do it...

I called NVC and a rep told me it taking them 2 months to schedule interview after DQ, so im guessing I won’t see my other half till next year! 😔 And yes thank God for video calls but we have 3 years doing it and really desperate to be together vs doing video calls 😂
I’m sorry, that’s just horrible. 😔 I hope it doesn’t take that long for us. I’m about to lose my mind. We’ve also been going through this for almodt 3 years../And trust me, the day he steps foot in this country. I am having an ear plugs bonfire in my backyard...my ears hurt! 😂

They do not require it now, but you will be required to prove that you will have the insurance after the November date. I believe you will have to prove this to the person you speak with at the interview. It was posted in an earlier thread this week (try page 52-55 of this thread). I am not sure of the complete process we know the change is coming.
Thanks Lily as I knew there was something out there and so many of us had questions that were unanswered.
I was under the impression this would only apply to anyone that had applied through NVC after November 3rd (when it becomes final) regardless of when your interview date is ???
Omg all this is so confusing. I’ve seen people talking about getting their spouses health insurance now when they are not even here yet. Sorry, I am not wasting money on something that can’t humanly be utilized. 🤯

Omg I totally feel the same way!! Because of this interview wait its been 9 months without seeing each other! Holding off on the date to travel for the interview. 🤦🏽♀️
We have also done the same thing and wait for the interview date for me to travel there. Never did we imagine it would have taken this long. This week is 1 year that we haven’t seen each other. In person that is, thank god for video calls! 🙌🏼 Good luck and hopefully we get to see our loved ones soon! 🤞🏼

My husband has the file folder so I can't send a picture, but he took an accordion folder with 12 different sections so that each section had different things like one was "Tax documents" and another was "I-864 and documents for joint sponsor." We really didn't want to get put into Administrative Processing for not having a document so we were cautious and brought way more paperwork than they asked to see. Our goal was that he could get to anything quickly without feeling flustered and get nervous! Interview went smoothly and he said he was clearly way more prepared than most people there.
Oh my goodness! I didn’t even think of the accordion file! That’s what I’m going to do. I have the same goal, that my husband doesn’t freak out when asked for something...thank you so much! Accordion file it is! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

The way my wife organized her stuff.
She had everything we had submitted, but when it came to the interview appointment.
She organized all the papers that was requested in the IV appointment letter upfront on a paper clip. She handed that front and center ready to go when asked for it. Fortunately nothing else was askedOh wow. Okay, but just simple in a paperclip. Sounds good to me! Thank you

Hi everyone! Going on 5 weeks at NVC, hoping to get DQ soon. I just want to be ready for my husbands interview and since I will bringing all originals with me from the states want to make sure I have everything in order and organized.
I’ve heard of people organizing all their documents in folders, etc. does anyone have pics of something like this or are any of you just walking in with a folder with all your papers?
Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I have a question. So I'm at the nvc where I uploaded all my documents in Ceac last month on Sept 20 and since uploading documents all I can see it says its submitted. Does anyone know how long it takes for it to change to accepted. It is already being a month since my submission and all the time when I call NVC they tell me to check the web site for processing time. Has anyone had the same experience like me.
Been waiting since 9/18...

For us it’s been 40 days since they received our RFE and we still have nothing. Tried sending the third outside normal processing time service request and it won’t allow it. The second service request we sent has passed 30 days but it’s not letting us send the third one. I’m loosing my mind with all this.
When we responded to our first RFE, it took over 2 months for them to respond. Then they transferred our case, then we got a second RFE and after we responded to that we received the approval in 2 weeks. It won’t let you send the 3rd one because of the 60-90 day processing time of an RFE. Unfortunately, you have to give it another 20 days and it should let you submit the 3rd one. It’s a very stressful thing to go through and you can call and submit inquiries a million times. But they won’t process anything until their ready to process...I hope you hear something soon. 🤞🏼

To all... we finally got approved today!! The funny thing is, we applied for B2 visa for my daughter last week.
At the embassy they denied her B2 since her I 130 is pending. however, the interviewer says it is very strange I 130 is taking 14months. and they said they would contact them for us. We got approved next day! Very happy!! Thank you for all your support and help. Especially you @inneedofmyhb !! Hope everyone hear something very soon.
Oh my friend!!!! I am soooo happy for you!! know your joy...it’s an unexplainable feeling to those not going through this!! You were very lucky to have an CO that truly cared and did something about it. Applying for the B2 was the best decision you made. You came out winning...I am still at NVC..their uploading site CEAC has been down for over 1 week now, so it’s just a matter of waiting, again. Don’t lose touch with me...keep me updated on everything that’s going on and let me know if you need any help, I will still be here for you. Again, congratulations finally!!!! 😍😍

If legal immigrants can afford the migration process, surely during these massive waiting periods (12-18 mths in most cases) we can save for a years worth of health care insurance as part of the moving process... ?
Isn’t that what responsible planning is all about? It’s not like we choose to move today and relocate tomorrow..
I’m sorry but as a “single” mother supporting a teen who just started college and what it has cost us going through this immigration process this far, I am living check by check. Does that make me not responsable? I don’t think so. What my husband makes in his country is pennies converted to dollars, adding him to my employer health insurance as soon as he gets here is our plan but at $600/month just to add him, if they want all visa applicants to have health insurance after 30 days, they need to make it a bit more affordable. So please, this isn’t about being responsible. Those words are not the right choice in this matter.
