I got the same thing. Don't worry, it's most likely a glitch. Mine got updated to "accepted" a few days later, after my EAD status changed to "card in production".

iulia.matey reacted to EamanA in Is it possible if I can apply citizenship before ROC done?
That was years ago now the procedure is to wait for ROC approval to make a decision. Infact if you have a ROC pending and you file a n400 they transfer both cases to the local office to adjucate both at the same time

I did not get one for the EAD, only for the GC. You should have it anytime now,,,Good luck!

I think you have a good chance of RFIE later if you file with just 2 tax returns which he can get quite fast. Not having any is probably going to be a red flag. Good luck!

Components of G325A are already included in i485.

If I were you I would first get a ITIN for your spouse and then amend your taxes to show as married filing jointly. This is because it will be used as apart of your evidence for the CR1 visa. So if you do not amend your taxes then at the interview the CO could say to your spouse "I see that your husband/wife did not include you when he/she filed taxes, why did they not do this?"

Is there any way you can contact the medical office you had your exam with? If you know the date of your medical they may be able to provide you with a copy. If USCIS lost the medical that came with the K1 and you don't have your copy, you'll have to re-do it in the US.

iulia.matey got a reaction from JayceC in K1 Visa Wondering where to start
    Hi, congrats on your engagement!
The K1 visa process is honestly not complicated at all, you just need to read everything before you start, make sure you have all the documents and PROOF-READ! The forum has a search feature which you can use if you get stuck at any point and you can ask in a new thread if you still can't figure it out. You don't really need a lawyer or filing through an agency - if anything they just complicate things and there's a higher chance of errors. If your case is simple (no criminal records, kids involved etc) you should be able to do it on your own.
    I would start here:
     http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide
Do make sure you take all of the forms directly from the USCIS website. if they're older, you're gonna have to refile.
Before you start anything, make sure you meet the requirements of K1 visa: both of you are unmarried and you met in person at least once in the past 2 years.

    Good luck!

Yeah, there are many many members on VJ that had the same sentiments as you. Including my wife and I now that we look back. The first few months of her here not being able to work was kind of rough. Not financially, but she was in a bad place. She was away from family and had nothing (like a job) to take her mind away from that.

Too many people gravitate to the K1 visa because of the premise that you will be together sooner. But when you look at the complete picture and with the current delay in timelines, it really isn't worth it.

Highly doubtful. Proof of a bona fide relationship is not a requirement of the I-129F petition.

If this is the case, then @Emmz he can pay his taxes now, meanwhile try to make the account online so you get the transcript as soon as IRS has it available. If they mail it to you it will take longer, but i don't know how long between you paying and them registering the payment. Don't delay, so you don't have complications later on! Good luck!

Do it yourself  just triple check it! Read EVERY SINGLE question multiple times and make sure you don’t miss anything.
it will seem stressful but just be very thorough and you’ll be fine! My fiancé and I noticed we missed a question the day before we submitted our file. Definitely just triple check it all and you’ll be fine. We just got approved May 15th with no RFE! (Requests for further evidence).
    good luck!!

Just do it yourself unless your case has any complications (divorces, children immigrating, criminal records etc). The process is very straightforward, you just need to read everything related to your visa type on the USCIS website and if you have any problems, the forum has most of the issues answered already or you can post questions if you still can't find the answers  Good luck!

Do not recopy the old form.  They already have it and it's of no additional value.

Bring an updated I-864.  (Not I-865, Sponsor's Change of Address).

    Hi,
You can see the flow for your visa here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow
The times do vary, so don't worry if you haven't heard anything yet, but check your case status often and maybe call the embassy too and ask if it's there. We had ours transferred in December and my first email package was sent to me in April. It's a waiting game, hang in there and good luck!

You are correct ma'am. If I were you and you chose the K1 visa route then I would file somewhere around September. But in all honesty I would go ahead get married and file for the CR-1 visa which is taking 12-14 months right now, but the beneficiary is allowed t work as soon as they arrive in the USA.

There’s a surprisingly large amount of work you can do from home, for example I know medical specialists (radiologists) who work from home for a large hospital group, and professionals who do everything from stock research to biomedical writing from home.  There is freelance, contracted and full time work all available. OP has however given no idea of whether his wife is trained in anything specific, what type of work she wants to do, etc. there are probably a lot of options for jobs requiring less specific skills, and different jobs websites to look for different things. Sometimes it’s just figuring out what the correct search term to use for what you want before you find stuff!

i’m glad OP is giving his wife space to do this even though it’s not his first choice. I’ve done both the working mom thing and the stay at home mom thing and don’t have much patience with people on either side who judge the other. At the end of the day a happy fulfilled parent, whatever that means for the individual concerned, is going to be a better parent.

iulia.matey got a reaction from Hazel Revilloza in K1 visa- Income requirements
    Hi,
Generally they want you to have at least a W2 or to have made enough money so far in the year to meet the poverty guideline. The income proof comes at the interview part of the process so that should win you another month or 2. Since the embassy is the one deciding if that's sufficient, you could give them a call and ask if they have a requirement, maybe? There's also the option of a co-sponsor, which can speed things up for you.

Hmm i've looked by brand and "usa price" to see if/where i'd be able to find it. If a chain pharmacy holds it you'll have no issues getting it anywhere in the country.

    Hi,
Write down the name you will use after marriage, as it's the name that will appear on your EAD and Green Card. This is common, USCIS knows what to do with it. Make sure you have a SS card in your maiden name before you marry, and after you get your EAD you can update it with your married name. Good luck!
