Beth & Achraf got a reaction from Visitor User in 2023 Houston Filers (Merged Threads)
If you had your interview in the Houston, Tx USCIS office for citizenship, Can you recall nay of the 10 questions they asked you on the Civics Exam?
Husband is trying to memorize all 100 flash cards I got him.
Thank you

We don't need to Lawyer UP. Hard part was obtaining the 10 year green.
This time it is all about HIM.

We had a hard ride for my husbands 10 green card, but managed it without an attorney.
We had red flags, me- previous marriage to foreign national who I filed marriage visa for, and then cancelled it, age difference, &
had a Stokes interview, which truly lasted about 2 minutes for him and for me.
Was issued a NOID, we provided the evidence they requested, and finally was approved after nearly 3 years.
I suspect this final go around will be easier, as we are more than prepared to show continuing marriage since 10 green card was issued.

Stop throwing away money with these lawyers. The plans will fail.
Meet your fiancé in person. Then file the petition.

The only correct response is the truth. Only you know what that is.

Beth & Achraf reacted to JeanneAdil in I need to cancel a K1 visa that has JUST moved into approval status
To notify NVC, u will need the case # they are about to assign u (by embassy initials)
then u can send a letter (email) to both NVC and embassy
I suggest a notary signature so the embassy knows u r the one doing it
How to Cancel K 1 visa? A. You should make a written request to the Embassy asking to withdraw the petition. You may wish to notarize such a statement so USCIS can be assured that you personally are asking the petition to be withdrawn. -

Don’t overthink! This is my advice.
Mine was like a conversation. I didn’t notice when he was asking me the questions haha I answered like was a friend asking me about the US.
Be calm and remember that this is the end of this loooong journey!! Uhuuuullll yaaayy 🎉
Good Luck

Nothing is happening if the first marriage was fraudulent.

Tried to adjust from visitor's visa, failed the interview, divorcing and wants to re marry & again apply for green card = a lot of red flags.
If he does remarry, has to prove a true relationship, joint banking, credit cards, lease or mortgage, life insurance on each other, joint auto titles, etc. Will need LOTS of evidence especially since first filing with USCIS failed.

Beth & Achraf got a reaction from Silky in Purchasing plane ticket before having visa in hand
Don't do anything until Visa is in hand. If approved, she could be put into AP after interview.
They are doing AP even for women now from MENA countries.

Beth & Achraf reacted to HMM1234 in Emergency visa for my father
Thankyou for your reply. I think I should have said emergency request for a visa. A friend recently got one for her mother because she had an infant to take care of. Daycare was not willing to take her fussy child and she had to join job. She didn't have any other help. She applied for an emergency request for visa and her mother was granted one. So I thought may be I can use the same approach as well.
Secondly I understand your point regarding the cost. That's my question, will he be able to get Medicare as he is 70+ or medi cal? I live in California.
Thirdly, he has unmarried children in Pakistan. My mother died two years back so he can't leave them alone there, no chance of staying and change of status until my siblings get married. I might apply for his immigration once my siblings are settled.
Any suggestions now? Should I go for B1/B2 without mentioning medical issues?

Beth & Achraf got a reaction from TBoneTX in Shipping personal items over to the US (Form 3299)
Don't matter, they need to be in her name, and cleared in her name.
As mentioned, she will need her green card to prove residency in the US for CBP.
CBP don't allow importation of personal effects unless they are US Citizens or LPR's or foreign military here on orders.
Example, someone here on visitors visa CANNOT bring in there personal effects - household goods.

Beth & Achraf got a reaction from TBoneTX in Shipping personal items over to the US (Form 3299)
She will need to be a LPR to bring in her personal effects
as the Customs broker will need to input her SS # and may need possible copy of green card for CBP processing IF CBP asks for copy of entry documents
This is what i do, Im a customs broker in Houston.
