Were you using your Naturalization certificate for proof of citizenship? Or a US passport? I ask because my friend a CBP has said that using a Naturalization letter will almost always get you scrutinized. Best bet is to get the US passport ASAP, and you should have no issues. There have been some issues with the letters recently, I wasn't read in as to what the issue was, but just curious.

No problem with parking. Few entrances but they will tell where to go if you try to enter to the wrong one. Like I said try to get there by 8/8:30am and you will not wait as long in line.

I was there on the 14th. They tell you to get there at 7AM but the ceremony actually starts once the judge arrives at around 10-10:30am. The wait killed the joy and we couldn't get pictures with the judge or anything resembling USCIS. Only people in the military got to take pictures.

You can arrive at 8:30 so you don't have to wait in line for an hour to enter the building.

Overall glad that I'm done with immigration.

As an F1 student, you have a restricted social security card.
When your green card comes in the mail, and if you get a conditional green card, do yourself a favor and immediately apply for an unrestricted one.
In a little bit less than two years, you’ll be applying for ROC, which is currently talking anywhere from 1.5-3 years. If you need to change jobs in between, and your extension letter expires, if you don’t have an unrestricted SS card you most likely won’t be able to get a new job.  Both of you do have an unrestricted one, together with a valid DL, you’ll be fine as per the I-9.
Planning ahead can save you a headache.

    Greetings,
I had my N400 interview today, thankfully my application has been granted and an oath is schudule next week.
Interview lasted about 30 min because I have a complex immigration history.
A IO prompted the civic questions as follow,
    Who is your US Congressman?
We elect a U.S. Representative for how many years?
Who is the father of the country?
Under our Constitution, some powers belong to the states. What is one power of the states?
There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.
IO then prompted to ask a follow up question, "Why do citizen vote?"
What do we show loyalty to when we say the Pledge of Allegiance?
What is one reason colonists came to America?
There were 13 original states. Name three.
Then the IO asked me to read, Franklin Roosevlt was President during the WW II.
Officer then congratulated me and gave me a schudule for oath cermony.
Thank you everyone for all the incredible guidence. I wish success to everyone who is still waiting in the line.

Probably because you were out of the states longer than 6 months? Either way I think you are already approved so you don't need to worry about it.

If you have a i751 interview that means you partner should go if you didn't do a waiver. It will probably be a combo with the n400 so be prepared just in case.

For anyone reading this and planning to file like me I recommend you wait at least 3 days after the calculator tells you to file as to avoid issues like people have experienced on this thread. A couple of extra days to file is way better than to have to refile again.

    Hello everyone,

After 20 years in this country I became a US Citizen today. I wanted to share my interview experience with everyone. I interviewed at the San Bernardino, CA office.

Walked in, went through security and provided the front desk lady the first page of the interview notice I received. I was about 10 minutes early. I was called by an officer right on time. I went into his office and he asked for my ID and green card, then immediately made me swear in. He introduced himself and went straight to the civics questions. I hadn’t even finished sitting down before he started asking the questions. Answered all six correctly in about 45 seconds. He didn’t go through my application beyond asking me briefly about a traffic ticket in 2008 and asked if I had fines (ticket was dismissed). Then he asked me about the trip I made to Europe in 2015 and how I liked it. Then he asked the “yes and no” questions, which was about 60 seconds. Then he printed out a paper saying Congratulations! and that I had been recommended for approval. He ushered me out of the floor and asked me to take that form and my green card to the first floor where I’d do the oath and receive my certificate. The entire interview took approximately 7 minutes.

Downstairs I went straight to the table where the lady was located with a lap top and gave me a document to put my address and sign. I went to a table on the side, filled out the paperwork and went back to her. Then she gave me a packet with the passport info and asked me to sit and wait. Five other people walked in and did the same as me. Then about 5 minutes later she asked all six of us to stand, we did the oath, and got our certificates. Then I left.

The entire thing from the moment I entered took about 20 to 25 minutes. The entire citizenship process took approximately 12.5 months.

Hope everyone’s process is as smooth as mine. After 8 years of using Visa Journey to fill out my green card paperwork, removal of conditions, and citizenship, I can’t believe this will be my last topic and now I’m finally done.

Thanks for all the help everyone provided over the years. You have all been fantastic!

Holding your partner's hand/wrist/arm and leg is DV. If you sneeze in front of her is DV. If you cough in front of her is DV. If you pick your nose in front of her is DV. If you yell at her is DV, disagreeing with her is DV. Did I miss anything? Because anything could make your partner uncomfortable.

Have you ever yelled at your partner? Said something that makes them "uncomfortable"? Apparently, even you are a domestic abuser now. You should turn yourself in.

We should be really careful about judging a case without knowing the facts. By definition, couples are frequently in personal contact, and whether "grabbing" someone's arm is illegal depends a whole lot on the facts and their history. Women do it to their male partners, too, but we don't often consider that DV, do we? Let's be careful here.
